Around 19:00, I was just studying a lesson in preparation for my upcoming report. I couldn't properly focused because there was a commotion outside. I was quite concerned because my gut feeling just says its a bad feeling and it was something bad. The people at my floor in my dorminatory was rushing at the 3rd floor. When I followed to check a person in her 20s was leaning on someone with eyes closed but tears flowing and there was a paper back seemingly to help her breath.
I was shocked by the scene. I asked a fellow tenant on one of the rooms what happened. She said it was an anxiety attack. At first she was crying out loud at the balcony and kept slamming the chair. Another person came to check the noise. There they saw the girl holding a knife attempting to unalive herself. Thankfully the person who witnessed this immediately grabbed the knife away. Without the knife, the girl returned to her room and locked herself not until awhile later. She came back to the balcony. Another person passed by and saw her attempting too jump off. Thankfully, they prevented it too happen that is when she suddenly collapsed unable to breathe and body muscles hardening.
I asked the one I was talking to what was the cause of such happening. She said that the girl was very much pressured by her parents. Their expectations were too much now that she is in college and also a scholar. As a scholar, there are certain grades you must maintain to keep it. However, the school's curriculum and subjects were very difficult. She found herself difficult to pass everyday. She talked to her parents about it but all they said was that she was over-reacting, you shouldn't have pursued going to universities if you're like this you're just wasting our money. Neither her parents nor her older brother were on her side.
Then came to her boyfriend. She thought he was the only one who could understand her, the only one who is willing to listen to her. Since it was a bit difficult because they were in a long distance relationship. Suddenly, her boyfriend arrived. This was just to tell her personally, he wanted to break up to her. Ever since then were her the anxiety attacks.
It was worrying. Goodness, there was a psychology intern who was also a tenant at thee dormitory. She recommended for counseling immediately. That's why everyone always take care of your metal health. Grades may matter but what matters the most is you. That's why How are you feeling these days?
Take care of your mental health
