"I dont usually get a bed, you know." The gourd remembered the not-so-good old time. "And yeah, who would even do that? It's immoral!"

 

"If you say so... but why can't you sleep on a bed?"

"E..eh? What is immoral?"

 

"Shh, you still use beds more than me as far as I know. As for recent times that is!", Gaap continued to speak, "Outrageous, don't you think? Who would be as monstrous? I remember them having a sort of orange helmet... tsk tsk, they have bad tastes on top of that..."

"Uhhhmm..."

"Errrrrr... I never go home..?", Gaap replied on a rather hesitant tone.

 

Lykke blinked once, then twice on the man's answer. "Um... does the Guild never let you go..? No free days or anything?"

 

"Oh hey look at the time, I've got a garden to tend!"

He vanished through the door seconds after he finished the sentence.

 

Feeling a tad embarrassed, Gaap felt the need to rephrase his words.
"I... forget to get home.", indeed, that is why he never go home. Because he forgets to. He coughed.

"Hey! I wanted to continue badmouthing that orange-headed fiend! Come back here!", the receptionist shouted as the criminal fled the tavern.

 

I can assure you that this lazy guy gets days off, probably more than I do.

He is just too lazy to move his legs to his home I tell you~

 

"I am just slow and forgetful, that's different.", Gaap needed to rephrase what Aria said.

In a more formal way to say exactly what she said. He wondered if he should run away as well...

 

"Eh... I guess... the guild is more comfortable for you..." Somehow, Lykke felt the man was rather... pitiful... for the man rather stay in the guild than going home...

 

"...", for some reasons, Gaap felt like the only answer to this plight was silence before he digs the hole for his grave even deeper.
Could he stay sile-

"Well... The guild is comfortable, pretty cozy for me at the very least. As long as it's better than- nevermind.", he was going to say as long as it's better than sleeping with goblins, it was fine. However, the situation he is in would worsen if he said it.

"Hey, don't put facts in front of me. At least, give me at least a way to go around it... Is that why Jack fled? Does he have some sort of radar to know when you as near or not? If yes, I am kind of jealous.", he admitted. If he knew when she was near, he would flee if he is in a difficult situation that is, like... now.

 

*laughs* I think he just knew that he couldn't beat you in that last discussion, so he took the easy way out~

Just like how you couldn't beat Lykke-san though~

 

"..." Even though the man seems suspicious, stopping like that, the girl didn't dig further and just listened in the two receptionists conversation.

"I beat him...?" Lykke asked in confusion.

 

"I hope that my hypothesis is correct however... Unlikely, but anyone can hope anything. I will ask him next time I see him I suppose..."

"That is... different once again, I was just honest and purely sincere. I forget to go home, that's true, and the guild is probably comfortable otherwise... How would I be able to sleep all day in all possible places?"

Hopefully, it seemed that she was a bit dense... Or that is just because she doesn't get the context, in either case, that's perfect.

"Don't mind Aria, don't mind Aria, she is just misunderstanding~"

I think he might be able to hear my steps, gods know how good is the hearing of vegetables~

Vandrin enters the tavern again, surprised by the somewhat tranquil environment surrounding it today.

"Quiet day?", Van asks Pierre who is already preparing him a cup of tea upon seeing him enter.

"Not really", he replies sitting down the cup in front of Van, "Just not loud"

"That is good in its own way", Van said taking a sip of the tea, "Delicious as always, though a bit of a different taste", he ponders on it briefly before stating, "Vanilla?"

"Good guess, but its an almond extract", Pierre said with a chuckle, "Recently made some and wanted to hear your thoughts"

Van thought for a second before replying, "Its definitely sweet than normal, but more on the savory side", he takes another sip before speaking again, "I like it"

"Glad to hear it", Pierre said with a chuckle before returning to his work

 

"I wouldn't ask if you don't want me to, Sir."

"I... still don't know if Jack is a Gourd-man or not..."

 

"Technically, they can't hear anything but... Jack is Jack, he is a phenomena that can't be explained thorough normal means, just like how we can find a magical tree that speaks only through poems.", good, the subject shifted, he internally sighed in relief. However, she didn't reply to him, so, it meant that he did good.

"That's fine, that's fine, ask if you wish to, I will just reply... or not. It depends~"

"Obviously, Jack is an apostle of Gourd God, this is why he has a Gourd. Albeit, whether it is a helmet or a real head is still a question."

 

"Well... then what is your name, sir? Mine is Lykke."

"An apostle? Isn't he the Gourd God itself?"
