I hope she leaves him. Gooosh! He is so utterly hateful! The ml was such a asgfvh he should know who’s the enemy and who’s not! I felt annoyed by the ml ‘not-so-petty’ acts to mc. In the end it was all his fault for his heartache. Tsk mc was literally vulnerable and he keeps adding to her pain! Starting from her mother, to her ‘villain’ father and now her husband.

Hi guys! If you wanted to support the author, you can purchase the whole volume on ridibooks (Total 5 volumes) I bought the first 3 volumes and MTLed (which have seriously hurt my brain as I barely understood anything). Sharing some spoilers for what I remembered on the first volume (take it as a grain of salt) Spoiler - ML took another girl to be Queen, Keanna(daughter of a Marquis). Yvonne, still the Empress while Keanna is Queen. ML and Keanna are not in a real relationship but ML told her to act as a spy to the Empress (Yvonne) & to investigate as well the kidnapping that happened 14 years ago (where the MC and ML met as kids). They believed Duke Delua (of course) is the mastermind behind it. Also, they seems to be looking for an item that was lost 14 yrs ago when the ML is kidnapped. ML gave this to the MC when they were kids (he told her to sell it to save the sick mother). But for what I know at this time, the brooch was not on her (mc) possession anymore. - During an occasion (I guess it's an event to welcome the new queen), Duke Delois arranged for Yvonne to poison the new queen. MC, who did not want to do it, took the poison for herself vomits blood. (Due to poor translations, I'm not sure how she switched the poison) ML has already foreseen this scheme by the duke and prepared antidote for himself and Keanna. ML is very shocked that it was Yvonne who got poisoned and gave to her the antidote. ML is confused by his actions why he saves her instead of letting her die. For the 2 or 3 days the Empress was unconscious, ML visited her every day. - By end of volume 1, MC (in her poker face) asked ML again that they should do room sharing. The damn duke is pressuring her again. This scene was a bit cute, as the ML is caught off guard by her question "Why don't you come to my bedroom tonight?" and coughed a few times against his handkerchief (lol) Yvonne, waited for his refusal the second time around but ML said "Okay, I'll be there tonight" (but of course, at this point the ML intentions were not pure either, he wants to observe the Empress and make her fall for him to manipulate her)
So I hope this troupe doesn't end up with that poor innocent spy Queen falling for scum ML and ending up as a secondary villainess or canon fodder in the end. Tbh rather than ML, the most I feel that's hopeless and beyond repair is MC. These kinds of people with no sense of self or self worth is a bad image to be portrayed even on a book. If it's a MC of a novel, it should portray their struggle for life even facing obvious dead end. I don't even know how this "damsel in distress waiting to be saved by ML" troupe is any appealing to people. I absolutely hate it when MAIN CHARACTER of a novel gives up on life or their self worth, no matter what kind of shit they went through. Why wait for someone to give you life when you have a your own life to live for yourself. Don't live your life for other people, just live for yourself, romance isn't all there is to life. I thought MC would give a nice fight for ML before whatever happens, but it seems quite unlikely. I just want the last clarification about if MC dies at the end or not. Can someone spoil the end? If MC actually sacrifice herself for ML or smth, I don't even wanna bother wasting my breath over this lol.
Same. So far what I understood is both parties are just trying to use her for their own benefit. Duke to control throne and ML to know dirt on Duke. She is basically a pawn here
The only time that I’ll accept a woman being overly self-sacrificing is when she’s doing it for the sake of her children. She’s not anyone’s mother in this story, she’s the flipping empress, a woman who’s supposed to have power and authority, alongside duties and responsibilities. Can someone please spoil if she develops a backbone and she face-slaps all these ridiculous men around her? Thank you.
