I actually like the sister and she's so cool is very hard for you to see a female like that in Manhwa she's a good ruler the reason people is saying she sus is because this is the first time seeing a female character I like this I have seen a lot of male Kings/Emperor's some of them even offering their child or first born to the god it's not surprising either and I think the reason again people is concern or thinking she evil is cuz she's a woman because they're both doesn't seem to care about offer a baby to the gods the MC is the one who said she was going to do it. People want a strong female lead or a villain female lead but they also want them to be nice this same thing happened to death is the only ending for the villainess and The Villainess Reverses the Hourglass, people was in the comment section of this two manhaw saying how did they not like how these two fl used people, when from the very beginning of the story they make it very clear that they were going to use people to survive.

 

I completely agree with this. And for all the people complaining because she was sent to the monster infested north, who's kidding who I'm everyone of these stories the strongest person in the empire is ALWAYS sent to the north. In EVERY story the duke of the north is ALWAYS called a monster and is the strongest, or their the emporers brother lol. What's so different about this situation.

 

the difference is that the dukes of the north in those stories were either they were born there, volunteered to be there, sent by the emperor who are not related to them and therefore dont really care about them, or they were sent there by the emperor that are related to them out of malice- which i think i part of why ppl think the sister is sus. from those dukes that ive read i have not seen one where the emperor loved their brother and sent him there anyway, emperor always think duke is threat in those other novels and want them away from the capital and power or hoping they die fighting there or sumth

Well she's also the Emporer. So, as a ruler shouldn't they send their most competent and trusted person to stabilize the region. And she didn't send her there out of malice, I feel she's being a competent ruler. And guess what....her decision worked out as she believed it would. Also the fl isn't really complaining so I don't see a problem

 

no one is questioning her abilities as a ruler. i think all of us who read this will agree that she is a good emperor. it's not her being a good monarch that's in question, it's her being a good sister. her being a good emperor is what makes her more dangerous to the fl because, when push comes to shove, she might choose to sacrifice her sister <--- which again may be why she appears sus. which is great for an emperor.. greater good and all that... but not so great for a sister. u can be a good emperor and not be a good person u know (not saying she's not a good person but just saying this in general....) i dont have an opinion yet either way its too early to tell ive only read up until ch.12 of the manhwa but i can see how ppl think shes sus and well ure right fl aint complaining so carry on
also i dont think shes being malicious to her sister either but she is hiding a loooot of things

 

1. If she could conquer the other kingdoms then she could easily simply defend her own, not to mention that she could broker marriages, use diplomacy etc. A ruler that can only resort to violence is a pretty bad one.
2. Risking your three best, strongest and most loyal allies/subjects for a shinier throne when you're still establishing your place is pretty freaking stupid and a sign of a bad ruler.
3. Rewarding the loyalty of trusted vassals with the worst territory in your country is such a fundamentally bad move and it only worked because it was her own doting sister.

That's not even mentioning that she never denied that she was the one spreading and starting the rumors about her sister being the 'savage of the north' for no reason (although I get that this could be just her clowning her sister and it's not that serious).

Being cold hearted might be necessary for an emperor in some specific situations but as a general rule of thumb it doesn't bode well for a ruler, if anything closing ones heart and giving in to endless ambition is just as foolish as never using one's head.
