People who pitied the emperor are really too weak hearted. I would never ever pity someone like him. A person who said that he didn't know what happiness was bcz he was the emperor what kind of bullshit is this... He is not pitiful. He married 3 wives for political reasons no problem he didn't love anyone even that's fine, there are times when even though the couple is married they don't love each until the end so it's ok. Even if he didn't treat MC nicely that's fine as well since its obvious that he didn't loved her so once she wasn't useful anymore he didn't need her. That's alright since this is something common and normal but what he did to his own children wasn't. He couldn't love any of his wives is something normal since he was the emperor he was suspicious of all of them or whatever but not loving his own children is something srsly cheap. He could have found happiness if he loved his 1st son since he didn't have a mother which meant that there was no woman who was manipulating his 1st child. 2nd and 3rd prince had their own mother's so if he was suspicious that those woman manipulated the children so as to use them to control the emperor then if he didn't love them then that was something forgivable in some sense but he didn't even love the 1st prince who basically had absolutely no one to call his family. He liked MC but she didn't like him back and he even died though she regretted it but that was only bcz Leon died while saying that she could have saved 1st prince but she didn't. Though later on she regretted it deeply when she saw that ansesio was too lonely and without anyone to depend upon. But the emperor never ever did. That bloody cheap bastard of human who was more of a garbage than human never regretted anything. Haaa!!!! It makes my blood boil everytime I think about it.

I've read the last episode of part 2 and I'm pretty sure the ML is Ian Blemir / Marquis of Blemir / Asensio's maternal uncle (I'm so happy because I was rooting for him!). Ian was very worried because he heard that people who were working hard suddenly lost their energy and lost their vitality. But. "We have to fix what's left. Woah, I'm very surprised that one of the beloved characters in this work turned out to be a traitor later on. I bet the readers are going to be as surprised as I am (if they don't view the spoilers here, of course). Rohan and Cayden are not here anymore. Rohan is literally being chased by Asensio so he has no chance. Regarding Elisha's personality, she would say no if she didn't want him. She's even afraid that his feelings will change during her journey and when he told her that he would chase her if she didn't accept him, she didn't respond. If she didn't control her feelings, she would blush several times at Ian's actions. So for me he is definitely the ML Regarding the side stories, the author said she would return in a "not too distant future" and she published this message in May. I would say she will be back around November/December. It will be focused mainly on Leon so I think we'll get his perspective on his mother's relationship. Spoiler: Cayden/Asensio and Leon's Dad Elisha has the title of empress dowager and at the coronation of Asensio, there is the coffin of Cayden so he died. Spoiler: More information about Rohan From chapter 285: Even now, the argument that there is no way that Knight Rohan could have done that, and if he had a really bad heart, how could he have been mortally wounded while fighting Katrina, protecting Barossa, and protecting the Crown Prince at the last moment? It is shocking to hear that it is accepted as an orthodoxy that he disappeared only because of the shock and guilt that a part of the Count had sympathized with the Count's mistress, Jay-Lin, without recognizing in advance. "I guess he really did get rid of it." I really don't know what to think about Rohan. It seems that he's publicly recognized as a traitor and that Asensio wants to kill him but on the other hand nobody is sure if he is really a traitor.
Series discussion Frankly, the ML revelation isn't completely shocking. Afterall, we have around 3-4 candidates (and among those 4, Kaiden is a bit of a hard limit already if we forget MCs desire to overthrow him/prob revenge). Marquis of Vlemir is technically the first guy to show up in the manhwa and showed his attraction to MC and one of the major arcs IS saving his life. Not to mention, them ending up together makes Asensio even happier, his maternal uncle married his beloved stepmom, like literally closing in to how far he can get away to calling her his mom. I'm still curious with Leon and Ignis though so at least the sidestories will answer the former. The hardest part with Rohan is literally his marriage with Jaylin and his loyalty to the crown so I admit his traitor status is oddly worrisome, not completely unbelievable if we consider these 2 specific factors, which is he may not love Jaylin but she IS still his wife or that same as what was implied in TL1 where MC killed him, he chose Caiden over MCs rebellion. What's the point in showing the manhwa in him trying to differentiate MC and Kaiden when it comes to leading the knights and/or peasants though or how much Leon adores him (though tbf, both her kids would root mommy's happiness above all else and Rohan is just Leon's role model)

The side story takes place a year later. The first chapter focuses on Elisha fighting monsters near Mount Petero. In the second chapter we see Asensio, Leon and Gillian talking together (about the choice of the empress and about Leon's role) and it concludes with the two of them sending letters to Elisha. In the third chapter, we are back at Elisha's journey and her important role in the fight against monsters. So I think we'll have to wait a few more chapters before we get the answer about Ian and Elisha's relationship
