Omgggg I read this novel a couple a months back and I'm shocked this got a manhwa. I was reading a ton of gang/mafia focused novels so when I came across this one due to how popular it was on Ridi, I was not ready for how much snu snu there would be. From what I remember, ML is a major horndog - especially in the side stories. The snu snu is also not vanilla and the scenes are long so at the end, I feel bad for FL cause he wants it all the time and every day. Even when she is pregnant, they do it a lot. Like dang, give ya girl a break. They will probably tone it down for the manhwa, but I wonder how much? Cause he is literally thirsty for FL. There's not much conflict until toward the end which ends in such a soap opera dramatic way. Also, this is not a fluffy, romantic novel. It's super toxic though expected cause ML is a gangster and they kill people. ML also is a gaslighting a**hole and super jealous whenever any man comes in any contact with FL. Our FL has the backbone of a wet noodle so she gives in to ML and is super dependant on him. The main reason why she even decided to be with him is because he promised her he will protect her and the baby. Honestly when reading this, I questioned whether what they had was love, but it took the side stories to really convince me. In ML's own twisted way he does love FL and she is truly an exception as he has a super soft spot for her. Even though, he can be a major a-hole a lot of the times, still, he doesn't hesitate to hug or comfort her when she's distressed. He stays very true to his character until the end as a horny gaslighting tsundere, but you do get his inner thoughts which seem to reflect that he is sort of whipped for FL. Though every time he is jealous, it ends up with rough snu snu that FL admits she enjoys so she crazy for him too. Surprisingly ML is good dad to the kids (they have 3). He's not cold to them and is affectionate. It's also kind of sweet knowing that he gives her hugs and kisses before he goes off to work, although many times it's more snu snu or other kinky stuff they do before he goes off to work too. FL character is very passive. She grew up thinking that it is useless to run away (mostly due to her father's influence) so whenever it comes to ML, she doesn't hold up against him at all. She cries a lot and ML enjoys making her cry. ML can read FL like a book and understands her so well to the point where he manipulates and takes advantage of her insecurities to get her to obey him or say what he wants to hear. So, their relationship is a bit twisted, but FL does really love him and actually enjoys being with him. She also accepts him being a gangster and they don't really address it, but being married to him there's all sorts of dark activities he's doing. FL turns a blind eye to what he does and is instead worried about if he gets hurt or killed.
Wowowow was debating if I should pick this up on Ridi as I’ve seen some comments said the novel is a smut legend and I’m also into red flag gang/mafia lmao.. Sounds like I should prepare to turn off my brain before picking this up lol At least FL seems to have some character not the useless damsel in distress type (i hope?) My God, I'm shocked, because most of the reviews I've read on naver have praised ML. I mean, they all referred to the fact that he was a tsundere and a mafioso, but that it wasn't something that weighed on FL and she liked it. All the sex between them was consensual, right?
Omg they praised him??!! I guess if we compare him to other ML in gangster/mafia novels, he might come out on top among the others cause he is pretty considerate of FL, given how he doesn't care about anyone else, but he's still definitely toxic. He's only got love for FL too so I guess that's another plus and he does make sure to take care of her genuinely as a husband; not just treating FL well because she's his possession. However, he knows FL is insecure and since she tends to treat him indifferently as she puts up a front, he intentionally makes her anxious about whether or not he has another woman to get a reaction out of her. Most of the times, she ends up crying and feeling super hurt, so when he's satisfied with pushing her far enough, he then comforts her. Of course, when he's gaslighting her, he does consider not going too far for the sake of the baby (this was when she was pregnant again which was in the side stories). He thinks he's teasing her or messing with her, but my god that's so far from it. Another thing about him is when he's jealous, he accuses her of cheating on him. There has been at least two times from what I remember where he accuses if their baby (while she's pregnant) is someone else's to hurt her even though he knows that she wouldn't cheat on him cause he has his men monitor her 24/7. It's kind of funny how when she denied their first baby was his and she had slept with other men (obvious lie), he called her out on her bluff real quick, but whenever he gets jealous he accuses her of cheating with another guy. He doesn't hurt her physically (I've read some other stories where the ML does and ugh horrible), but he definitely does threaten her as he told her he'll cut off her tongue one time when FL (being dumb) said having an affair isn't a crime as many people do it. I'm like yes, but girl don't say that to him LOLOL! Though those are just empty threats when he's angry and FL knows it too as she states many times that she knows he would never hurt her. In the main story regarding consent, I think for the most part it is consensual though it's still questionable sometimes cause she says no, but means yes in a lot of the scenes. However, there was one scene that was dubcon. When they started living together, he got jealous of her ex. Since he's hurt, he wants to hurt her too so he accused her of wanting to be with her ex and is still thinking about him which she denies. He says that the only person benefiting from her pregnancy is her father so since he's been considerate of her family situation, she should repay him. He then tells her take it off and FL doesn't want to, but ends up doing what he tells her to do and they have rough snu snu. Afterwards, she cries and questions why he's hurting her. He keeps his thoughts to himself, but he's aware that he's jealous and is struggling dealing with these "new" emotions as he's never loved or felt jealous before. The rest of snu snu in main story and side stories, let's just say FL is always swept along cause dang he wants to do it all the time and she does enjoy it even though she rarely admits it to him. Heck, when I say he wants to do it all the time, I mean it, even when the babies/kids are nearby, they're doing it. There's even scenes with her changing diapers or breastfeeding and they're doing it. Author definitely has kink for pregnant women and large busts as I've read some of their other novels. This has to be one of their dirtiest stories though...there were some scenes or even ML's thoughts that I was a bit grossed out by. Hence why I'm curious how they will adapt some of the scenes, though most of the snu snu is more in the side stories so I wonder if they will include anything from the side stories since the main story is kind of short. There's only 2 books and then 2 side stories.
I read the manhwa until chapter 14 and my answer to that question is "No." Spoiler At their first time, at HER first time ever, FL was drunk to the point that the next day she couldn't remember everything that happened. At some point, she asks to stop, his answer? "It's not over yet." (translation by templescan team) So the story used the "she was drunk" trick to make FL able to have sex with this guy who is, basically, a stranger without making her a woman who would choose, in her right mind, to have sex with a man she wasn't in love with. Does this distort the understanding of consensual sex of people who never learn it? Possibly. But it also keeps FL's behavior inside the understanding of many of how a proper woman could behave. "She slept with a guy she was not even in love with, but because she was drunk. In her right mind, she would never have done that." I wish they would go for FLs who decided to sleep with men they don't have feelings for just because they were enticed, even if in the end FL thought "Seeing the results, I think I shouldn't have done that."
What in the smut universe is this… this and the accuse of cheating when jealous… can you spoil me any good moments in this story so I can still consider to pick this up because this is not selling it lmao I guess the snu writing is good?? I sure hope manhwa tone down some of the toxicdity and pls dont include the snu while breastfeeding scene…
Yes, turn off brain haha cause that's what I did! I also saw many comments about it being a smut legend and that's why I ended up reading it, but omg I was not prepared. I end up reading many red flag stories, the gang/mafia ones are especially major red flags, but I think I read too many where ML are not nice as they are involved in gangs so this ML compared to the rest of the gangster MLs is better among the worst. FL does standup against Song Hayoung who is Chairman Kwon's wife (she's the main antagonist and wants ML for herself) pretty well so I'll give her that, otherwise, she rolls over for ML and her dad. There was a situation in the side story where she was kidnapped and she does try to fight back, but of course she almost got r*ped by bad men. Thank goodness ML came in time and although he comforts her, he gets jealous. It was due to one of his men (driver) holding on to her as they tried to escape from the bad guys. I don't know if manhwa will have that scene with him coming to save her. There was also a scene where she lost one of her kids at the hospital cause she had to bring her other baby in due to him having a fever. She broke down pretty bad and ML had to calm her down. Turns out her kid was with her mom for a bit cause her mom was also at the hospital. FL is very dependent on ML, she even notes that she doesn't really have any friends and he's the only person she really has so she gets lonely when he's not around.
That's sad!!! She had some friends at the beginning of the manhwa where the hell did they go? She's a first-time mother and only has the children's father by her side to keep her company, and I even know how important it is to have a support group of friends when you're in this situation.
Yeah, I think for the most part, those scenes like that are more in the side stories so I'm not sure if they will even have those in the manhwa. I'll have to reread, but this was a particular scene that I thought was kind of sweet between the two. This showed how much ML cared for FL even before he knew it himself. He definitely has a soft spot for her: Spoiler: Hotel Room (no snu snu for once and real talk) Ya girl was determined to no longer be following her father's demands/wishes. She thought she was having period cramps, but turns out she's pregnant. Still, she was determined.There was an opening ceremony that FL's dad wanted her to attend so she went regardless of declaring she wants to do stuff on her own the other time she met with her parents. (Yeah I don't know how this was her way of showing him she's going to be miss independent by following what he tells her to do, but whatevs) She was not feeling well and her stomach (or abdomen) was in pain. She saw ML there as well and since she just found out she's pregnant with his baby, she's super nervous to be around him. ML is annoyed that FL is dismissive of their one night stand so they banter a bit. (There was the scene before where she asked him if he wore protection and of course he didn't. I believe she was taking birth control though and still got pregnant or maybe she took plan B too late. He apparently went on a trip to Japan so they didn't see each other for a bit.) They both get on the elevator and of course, they're going to the same floor. She's staying at the hotel and so is he for the opening ceremony haha. She's feeling dizzy so she's about to fall and ML catches her. He asks her if she ate anything. She, for some reason, kind of snaps at him and apologizes afterwards.When she's in her room, her dad tells her to come down since the CEO's press conference is starting and she tells her dad she's not feeling well. He continues to tell her to come down anyways. FL goes down and notices ML who should have been there as well, was not so she thought he was going to remain up in his room. She runs to the bathroom and bumps into someone, but she's caught by the arm. Since she's in a hurry, she doesn't even look up to see who caught her. When she's in the bathroom throwing up, she recognizes the perfume scent on her where she was caught and it's obviously ML who helped her again. She gets out of the bathroom once she thinks there's no one around. She's super dizzy and faints this time. In her thoughts, she's questioning her life and is barely able to hold back her tears. ML once again comes by and carries her before she falls from fainting. She can hear him asking why is she crying. FL wakes up in ML's room. She was going to leave when ML finds her. She thanks him and runs off to her room only to realize, she has no bag or her room card to get in. ML comes over and is holding her room card. Before she can reach to grab it, he decides to ask her what crime did she commit that she's avoiding him. She tries to change the subject, but eventually tells him she's got a fever. He doesn't buy it, but she grabs the room card and gets into her room. She's sleeping, but she still feels a lot of pain. She's afraid she might miscarry and starts to worry. Her father is trying to contact her to come down because they need to go somewhere, but she knows she's not in any condition to be around him. To avoid her father, she decides to go to ML. She's in front of his room and when he answers the door, she lies that she forgot something in his room. He doesn't say anything, but she takes it as a sign that he's letting her in so she squeezes through the gap (my gawd she's got guts hahaha and she's probably the only person he's ever going to allow to be like that toward him) As she's fumbling around, pretending to look for something, she feels a bunch of pain. FL holds her stomach and internally curses ML and blames him. He notices this and asks her what she's looking for and why she's gripping her stomach. She lies that she's looking for a hairpin. He asks her why she doesn't go to the hospital if she's not feeling good. She lies and says she's got cramps, but she'll be fine. He doesn't buy it and continues to ask her what's her real reason for coming in his room. She insists she's trying to find a pin, but he's not buying it at all lol he asks if she wants to get kicked out. She gets up and as she's approaching the door, she hears men coming around so she spills the beans that she's hiding from her dad. He's annoyed and she's rubbing her hands together like a monk, begging. He goes to his bed and tells her he can't sleep if she's standing there which he tells her she either stays or goes. She, of course, stays cause she'd rather be around him than her father. She's still in a bunch of pain so he gets worried and tries to call for a doctor, but she prevents him from doing so. Eventually, she falls asleep and it's late at night when she wakes up next to him. She's in awe that he's next to her sleeping and he tells her to go back to sleep. She tells him she should go back and starts pouring out her real feelings of having to sacrifice herself for the sake of her family. He tells her she's just running away from her problems instead of facing them and what's the point of running away if she ends up here anyways. She changes topic and asks if he sleeps side by side with random women like this. He gets annoyed and tells her to go to bed since she said she was sick. He starts to tease her some more and this might be wrong since I'm using MTL as well as relying on some korean knowledge, but there's some play on words teasing he does with her. She tells him, "You're the one who also asked/ You, yourself asked about it too" (Ja-gi meaning self) and he teases her asking, "Ja-gi?" as in honey/dear. FL says no, not that Ja-gi (honey). He then responds playfully with "Is that so, honey." Ughh ok this was cute but again I'm using MTL so it may not be correct with their little banter here. In this scene, it is also noted how FL is aware of the importance of hierarchy in the gangster world so when she told ML she was going to leave, he tells her that if she gets in trouble with her father, it won't be his fault. Therefore, she looks him in the eyes and tells him that she'll have to be in his care for a bit longer then and stays. She notes that looking in his eyes and not lowering them is already seen as unacceptable behavior in the world of gangsters since he is obviously top on the hierarchy. Still, FL says she already commited many offesenses toward him and she's not dead or beaten yet surprisingly. ML is also described as arrogant in personality and likes to live in the highest spot of buildings due to his nature. Anywhere that is highest is the best because he will never be beneath others. And yet, he lets FL get away with doing things others would never dare do as someone who would be beneath him. So yeah, he doesn't realize that he's already down for her bad. He was also kind of sulking and kept asking her if she really didn't remember their night together lol
