Later, the ML's mothers relationship with everyone does improve. This is in large part because ML confirmed his father about how he didn't spend much time with his wife and she was lonely resulting in being overly controlling of their son, the ML.

Damn if it’s 1 thing I hate about eastern novels is the stupid filial piety BS.
You gone tell me this MF (ML mom) separated him from his then girlfriend FL for 7 years, (correct me if I’m wrong but the mom threw her out of the home she had with ML), paid a VA to act as ML to break up with MC, probably knew about Yena, didn’t care, knew the MC had to be struggling to hold on being a single mother, set her son up with a psychopath, and still tried to keep them apart after she knew that they had reconnected?
And the protagonists have to forgive her? Help her with her cancer? After all of that?
Leave her for the birds, I say!
The story sounds lovely, but I hate the concept of forgiving parents even if they kill you, just cause they layed together and decided to have you.
It’s a miss for me.

They weren't living together. It was her boyfriends apartment... She had her own separate apartment (ML did spend a bunch of time at her place though, since he felt it had more of a warm, honey feel). So no, she wasn't kicked out of her living space.

The ML's mom has 0 clue that MC is pregnant. Literally no one in his life knew about MC. She was like his little secret source of happiness and he didn't want to share. ML's mom only knew about MC because while ML was in hospital, she looked at his call and phone history and noticed there's someone he contacts a lot.

She likely assumed it was just a casual fling because he never told her (his mom) about it and he never says "I love you" to MC (he has trauma from that phrase and doesn't feel like using it to taint his relationship with MC cause he sees it more akin to a hideous shackle, but his mom doesn't know that)

His mom suspects she's a gold digger and finding out MC is an orphan doesn't help her paranoia/prejudice

She did not know that eunbin was a bit psycho. She though eunbin and Eunyeop were perfectly respectable and well adjusted members of society

I honestly don't know how you connected this to filial piety? The MC and ML never truly forgive her. They just play nice so Yena has a grandma figure. Yena doesn't really understand the circumstances of her parents separating. She just overheard her parents mentioning she was a match and decided on her own she wanted to donate. ML's mom and dad also weren't expecting her to donate. At that point, ML's mom was willing to accept her cancer diagnosis as terminal and was very distraught at having been tricked for so many years.

Thanks for correcting me in the apartment situation.
1. It’s gotta be a plot hole, the mom is such a control freak that I’m very surprised that she didn’t keep tabs on her but okay.
2. My comment was mostly focused on her forcing the ML to accept the psycho broad without ever noticing that the brother and sister pair were basically the gold diggers that she so despises.
3. There it is, they tolerate her for Yena, why? Couldn’t they cut her off completely? Why play the happy family? The child would have gotten over it, surely? That’s where filial piety comes in, forgive and forget, the child needs an elder in the family, family sticks together no matter what, she (mom) had good intentions, etc.
Honestly, no one can convince me that the author gave the mom cancer so she can be easily forgiven.

The mom isn't a control freak though? At least not on the sense you are imagining. She's basically a lonely old women who seeks love and validation because her husband is too busy to spend time with her and make her feel loved (ML does call his dad out on this).

She doesn't hire detectives to follow her son around (though Eunyeop certainly would). She doesn't visit his place all the time and smother him. Instead she sits at home (I wouldn't be surprised if she can't drive and is thus practically isolated at home if a driver is busy, which is quite sad in of itself) and texts/calls her son hoping he'll tell her he loves her (this is why ML sees that phrase as a shallow shackle and not a show of devotion). If she does spy on ML, it's only through gossip she hears from his friends, none of whom he had introduced MC to.

I am curious why she has such a passionate hatred of orphans and do wish the author had let us know though...

I assure you, she knows nothing. In fact, she was quite shocked when she finds out. I did go back to check and didn't see anything like you mentioned. The closest thing I can find is this sequence in chapter 3:

If this if what you're remembering, the first two screenshots are from the perspective of the mother and the last screenshot is from the perspective of MC (this transition could be easy to misunderstand). The mom never mentioned anything about a hospital in relation to MC.

His wife scolded him for making assumptions about MC. She told him to let ML decide for himself, and that Seunggyu has no place to interfere in ML's love life.

She was horrified but the guy (seems) sincerely wanted to date her but she declined.

ML surprised MC when he appeared at Yena's school as the 'uncle who played baduk with Yena. He used the opportunity to get on Yena's good side. However, when Yena found out that he's her mother's boss, she disliked him for causing her mother late for her birthday. She even told MC to just resign from his company before her next birthday. ML was devastated.

Later MC encouraged him to find back his memories. He told her about his suspicion that he had a girlfriend but she still wanted him to find out about her. He questioned why didnt his ex reached out to him and MC hinted that someone might had prevented her, eg; his family.
She reminded him that the woman might be waiting for him at the same spot he left. She's confident that ML would still choose herself even if his ex turned up.

ML went back his parent's home to look for his old phone and his mother was alarmed at this. He started questioned why he didn't have a single photo from his 3 years memory.
ML was reminded of his childhood when his mother made his friend changed his school and moved away, only because she thought he's not good enough to be ML's best friend.

ML wanted to buy a ring for MC. As he fill in his name and details on the invoice, the staff recognize him and asked if his old phone number is XXXXXXXXX. Apparently he had bought a proposal ring from this shop 7 years ago, a day before his accident.
Now ML is sure that he had someone he wanted to marry 7 years ago.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! This is amazing. I feel really sorry for ML because he's completely innocent. First me it's a bit hard to believe MC was tricked by voice actor. I think she should have looked for him somehow.

I'm curious about something. When he starts to remember his head hurts. Doesn't MC get concerned or at least asks for a doctor's advice if it'd be safe for him to regain his memories? I won't say MC is selfish, cause she isnt, but she's been a bit careless about ML health and wellbeing.
So I'm curious... Can you tell me if besides the migraines, the ML health is OK? Does he ever need to go back to the hospital? And mentally is he a bit depressed for being deceived abandoned and missing 7 years of his daughter life?
