    How about "Perfect Secret Love: The Bad New Wife is a Little Sweet" for a modern rebirth story?

    I hate the picture and the summary, and half the reviews were about 1 star, so I never really bothered for several months. But after my friend made me read 30 chapters for a lost bet, I found it was actually really GOOD! Try it!

    But seriously, read for 20 chapters or more, because first chapters are HORRIFYING! You will misunderstand the situation a lot because all you have is the main character's point of view, which includes kidnapping, rape, hostage situations, being framed for crimes, destruction of her family, ect. all appearing to be done by the male lead. As she stops listening to her manipulative 'best friend,' she learns things that give a new perspective over the next several hundred chapters. But before then, the ML can be called the villain.

    I read this story but I can’t really stomach the ML character.. I mean he’s sweet when he’s with MC but at the same time he’s like abusive husband that immediately start to apologizes and promise not to do it again only to forgot his own promise and doing it all over again.. I find myself crying when this one chapter where the ML misunderstood MC because of her poisonous best friend saying that MC come to the hospital to see her ex fiancee/boyfriend that got into accident.. The ML lock her into the room and MC remembering her past traumatic experience with ML plus her current situation being lock into the room without any freedom would make anyone go crazy.. I find myself crying when she finally let all her emotions bare and cry her heart out in front of the ML.. I can’t seem to finish that novel even if the story is good
