He actually isn't even a "Duke", he was only styled "Duke" since he was the consort of the Duchess. After the divorce, he loses that title, but being the leech that he is, he demands to the right to use another noble title from his ex-wife's estate.
He is a lowlife and hanger-on and the fact the Empress chose that type of man to cheat on the Emperor with displays she was a lowlife too.

Raphaello's father hates the Duchess and her family (including his own son by her) but has no qualms living off her estate and using his ex-wife's family status. During the divorce, he demanded a settlement from her and a title be bestowed upon him that he could still use.
Even Raphello found that to be utterly hypocritically and pathetic.
He treats Rapahello like dirt, and the only time he pretends to be "nice" is when he tries to probe Raphello into revealing were and who his "real" son is.

 

From one of the conversations between Raphael and his father it looked like the father has returned back to his parents house and has their last name, so the title also is from that family. If he had received a separate title it would have been impossible for his relatives to do anything to him, but that conversation sounded like he’s quite afraid of the relatives and consequences. But I can be wrong because I’ve read it in MTL.

 

I like the story but I'm don't like the same stuff that cayena was the same person in ogfl and their past life etc. Why can't they just isekaied into that novel without being the same person

 

I'm curious about Raphael and Olivia at first life did they really fell in love ? If it's true then I feel like Cayena stole Raphael from her.

 

First if all the fact that it was possible to change the future confirms that there is no fate and all people have free will to fall in love with whoever they want. Even in real life people can’t control their feelings as they wish, so they fall in love with different people all the time, get married and sometimes divorce later, promise endless love and then cheat, become friends and then hate each other.

Second, if only Cayena knows about the possible future and other people have no idea about the feelings they’ve possibly had, then what’s the problem? Olivia also didn’t fall in love with Raphael in this TL, and wasn’t unhappy in the end, so no one suffered because of this, moveover a lot of people have been saved from unhappy situations and deaths related to a coup d’état.

Third, if we follow the standard idea used in fiction about an unlimited number of possible futures that are created with each person’s every action, then there have been, are and will be billions of timelines where not only they didn’t get together but also don’t exist.

 

In Cayena's defense, she really really really tried to pair up Raphael and Olivia in the 2nd TL. She warded off Raphael and even rejected him. She also left Raphael and Olivia together more than one time on their own so that they'd become involved.

 

Well, Its not like Olivia's after him this time no?

Yeah I was just wondering what's the symbolism behind the flowers lol. oooh maybe these are the flowers used during the magic process? or they're just pretty flowers.

 

When I first saw the promo of this I thought it would be similar to who made me a princess, except its a murderous brother instead of father and she will change him while developing a strong sibling bond and help him get the girl which I thought would be olivia, the heroine, while her and the Duke will be a pair, so after learning it isn't anywhere near that, I will have to drop it and its so sad cause the manhwa art is superb but I've screwed myself over cause I loved Rezef at first sight from the promo and since he's not gonna be redeemed I won't be able to enjoy it (there are mls far worst than he was that are given a second change to become all perfect cause their mls) so it's a sad day for me

Can anyone recommend me some other imperial/ducal manhwa?
