Resolved Still cannot edit Genre Tags

    Hello

    I submitted a ticket close to two months ago regarding the removal of demographic genre tags. When I tried to add shoujo, shounen, josei, and seinin tags they would be deleted within hours. I don't think I've edited anything beyond 15 titles within a week. Now the search function for stories has a mix of all four. After the ticket was submitted I found myself unable to edit Genre Tags.

    Is there a reason for this? I had thought that the ticket meant an auto ban so that mods could look into the allegations made against individual(s) who were removing.

    I was perusing the threads in this forum to see if there were similar cases and it seems like there is.

    If the usage of the loan words of Japanese demographic is an issue, then is there talks of changing the semantics to accommodate things as they stand? I had read and reread the descriptions of the tags before I tried to add genre tags and felt confident in my understanding of the parameters in which they could be used. If I used them erroneously could a mod explain to me as I can understand the ban?

    Regarding shounen, shoujo, seinen, and josei; all those 4 four are based on publication in Japan. For novel from other language, they have no such boundaries and tend to target several demographic at once.

    At this moment there is no intention to add tag/genre to separate the male/female demographic, and I doubt there will be one.

    That is most unfortunate as it sounds like the search function will be somewhat hindered. If that is the case then, will those terminologies have their definition updated to state as such? Or will they be deleted all together.

    If possible, may I please I have genre editing abilities back? When I edited the few titles, the numbers which by no means was significant, it was based off the stated definition that the site provided. I had not seen posts declaring that the site had a new stance against demographics and so made some tagging since someone was fiendishly removing them. I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

    Quick question. Are you unable to edit genres on some novels or all novels? I ask because we can lock genres per novel to be uneditable for all users.

    Ah. Whoops. I was waiting for the mod who issued the ban to deal with this, and only just realized they're not around at the moment. The ban should be lifted now.
