I see a lot of comments talking about the past lives and yeah I get he was trash in the past but what happened in the current timeline? I think it's the 5th live... Is the ML also trash in the current tm? He also married other women in the current tm? Did he treated the FL like trash in the 5th life? I don't care what he did in the past I want to know what is happening now in this 5th life.

I'm sorry there's something I don't understand about the spoilers: I mean almost every major spoilers were about the previous TLs and lives BUT what happen in the CURRENT TL? Except for the ML blocking every single possible way to marry the two previous concubines and the fact that the FL regained the memories from the previous tl of this current story.
I understand the frustration and the angry towards the ML and his previous (maybe also current, I don't know there were few spoilers about the current TL) actions, but I would like to know what will happen in this TL and how the ML will be able to redeem himself (always if he's able to do that). Also, according to the spoilers it seems that every single regression was caused by their first son (?), does it mean they will be able to live a happy life in the end or not? I would like to know every major events of this story and the ML and FL's relationship.

Who cares about his changed behaviour in his 4738382th life? The point is that he never deserved so many chances to begin with.

Hi guys, I got to know that there are quite a few people who want to know what happened in the current time let me tell you nothing much happens in the current timeline. The story has a lot of flashbacks. Also before proceeding, I apologise if I'm missing something to mention because it's been days since I've read the novel - anyway see, Gladys and Valarie makes up quite a few pages of the novel for the current timeline which I've already explained previously.
ML starts acting diffrent after returning and with the knowledge of the future beforehand he acts on it. He already knew that he had to go back to the throne so he prepares himself for that, he makes plan for dodging his marriages that he did for political power previously, he coaxes MC to stay with him again in the meantime at the MC too is having flashbacks and when she finally remembers what all happened one day, she plans to run away from him and the dialogue gets exchanged between them when she is caught as the same in the prologue. The ML gets to know that she too has regained her memories and chains her up. The second ML which I mentioned about who was the Illegitimate child of the Marquis crosses path with her this time too - I forgot what were the words that exchanged between them but anyway, he visits her in the chamber one day and they've heart to heart talk. MC also notices his feelings for her. Enter the ML who's jealous and tells her she can roll around with anyone but by his side, he's willing to tolerate that much but not her leaving him - basically accusing her of adultery. He also interrogates her (adopted) father who apparently helped her in running away. The father asks him to let her go for the sake of her happiness but he refuses. Bdw, the father had saved her from the slavery. Both her parents were slaves at the mansion of the Maquis - Valerie's household (which is also the reason she looked down on her). After her parents died the father (I forgot how) come across her, she find this beautiful child struggling all by herself and hatches a plot to free her and adopt her. He bestows a new name on her too which was 'Rose' and they live happily in a small town. Years after she come across the male lead who had escaped the palace (I forgot the details about this part too, sorry, but yeah it was the usual royalty stuff and conspiracies). They formed a good relationship and he felt attached to her. The love grew overtime and as you might have already read they got married, settled in the same village etc. before the Male lead had to resume his duties as the heir of the throne.

So that is all what happens in the current timeline.
•Male lead opening eyes regaining his memories.
•Returning to the throne and acting cleverly to attain political powers.
•Warding off the marriage prospects to save his wife and his unborn child.
•Lara regaining her memories, trying to run away, getting caught, meeting wannabe second male lead.
    •Flashbacks, flashbacks and more flashbacks
•Valarie's story and Gladys's story and what was happening with them in this timeline after they were outsmarted.
•The truth of Valerie who murdered her lover and ordered the murder of her toddler (along with his aunt) in cold blood.
•Gladys's story, how she is a product of a cheating couple and how her 'cousin' who is the actual heir 'steals' Gladys's future husband away from her and drops the truth bomb of her birth and her parents.
•The ending which is also spoiled. The ultimate showdown of all the timelines, Valarie marrying an old fart of a king, going through the same torture by his legal wife and giving birth to a deformed child, ending up in a monastery etc. + Gladys ultimate breakdown.

So you see, why there wasn't much talk about the current timeline.
I'm sorry if I missed something, that's all I remember. I don't seem to recall if there was something else in the current timeline apart from it all.
If there was, I hope someone can spoil.

He was already married to Valarie and had kids with her. The reason that he came to meet the Marquis was also the same, he came to meet his in-laws + political standing.
There he saw her who had became a plaything of the sons of the Marquis, brothers of Valarie. And next what happens is the same that you read.

Out of curiousity I like to hear your opinion on this comparison:
If we were to compare this MC/ML Emperor Alec with the Protagonists able to go back time with their memories intact Leon in 'The Emperor Reverses Time' and Igor in 'I Don’t Want to Be Loved', who would be actually the worse husband material?

Just wondering if Royalty has magic in them or if is there a hidden story about FL's parents. Because could an unborn child regress the TL? It will possible if it has strong magic or if there is someone who could do that like in 'The Emperor Reverses Time' or God/Deity something.

I hope there is more explanation for this.

There was no explanation regarding this. Somehow it was only the child who was able to turn back the time. I'm sure because I didn't skipped a single page when I read it previously and I don't think I missed anything either due to jumbled mtl.

I don't know much about The Emperor reverses the time actually because I dropped it after he gets regressed the time and saves her from the pressure/abuse of her parents. But as far as I've read I think Leon is better than either of them. I mean if only given the option between the three, Leon comes into my mind. He was indeed indifferent and somewhat emotionally abusive but when turned the time and given a second chance, he atleast helped the fl in every way possible unlike the other two who even after getting a second chance lived selfishly for them. Leon might have let the fl go away if she didn't want to stay with him, he was gentle with her but the other two, this one definitely not and Igor, well he indeed did a 360° but reading about what he did in the past time was way worse than what Leon did.

Bdw, the choice is only when given a second chance. Solely seeing the first timeline, they all suck.

wait, isn’t that the second timeline? Because I re-read the spoiler just now and it sounded like in the 1st timeline, he met FL as crown prince and then married valarie and the other girl after. But for the second time line, he was already married with kids to Valarie which I think is the one ur referring to? Correct me if I’m wrong bcs there’s so many timelines that I get kinda confused lol

No? This is the explanation of what happened in the current timeline.

See, I've mentioned it here -

In none of the previous timelines did he remembered anything.

In the first timeline Lara was a slave who tried to escape but had her ankle broken by the Marquis's son. Alec who was the crown prince fell in love with her, Marquis gave her to him as a gift. He sealed her as a concubine and Valarie as the Empress. There were two more women but he only looked at her. It's all mentioned in the second thread anyway, their first child was poisoned, second was paralysed down his waist. He asked his mother to kill him again and again and she relented strongly before giving. They both died, Alec soon followed after making Astride the Empress.

In the second timeline when he met her she was already a concubine of Gillian and had bore children to him. The other brother had also assaulted her. Alec was already married to Valarie but after seeing her, he managed to had her. Valarie tried every way to harm her and even hired men to assault her and they did but Alec didn't left her. He killed all those who harmed her but she was scared of him and died during childbirth. Alec went crazy and died too. A revolution started and monarchy was replaced with republic.

In the third timeline Lara has managed to escape Marquis with her mother. She joined revolutionary group as a spy. She was caught by Alec but he didn't killed her. She fell in love with his kindness but monarchy was overthrown and Alec had to bear the sins of aristocrats and nobles. She tried to save him but he was beheaded. After getting his severed head, she went to the palace where they were together and set fire to it and died.

The fourth timeline is the timeline that happened in the very beginning of Manhwa and Novel. Alec met her in the small village of Laurent. They married but he had to go back to his throne after his half brother sent his assassins. Lara's adopted father was killed in that plot too. Lara was poisoned over a month and Klaus was born with twisted limbs. Loras was also poisoned and the only child who was born normal was their last child Astride. Due to the schemes of his other wives, Lara and Loras were burned alive and Alec burned it all down and slaughtered them.

    In the
fifth timeline he regressed with his memories of his previous life (4th one) intact. He opened his eyes back to Laurent where him and Afrosa were staying at a small cottage build by him as a newlywed.

I have a mixed feelings after reading all the spoilers:blob_teary: but still his obsession towards her is on another level :blobawkward: all 4 timeline before the current is so fcked up he did marry her for his own selfishness especially the 4th he'd always believed that it was for her and to protect her but he didn't noticed would his choices would affect her or not so in the end of the day it was all for his satisfaction:blobconfounded:

Ooo yes thanks for the more thorough explanation. I saw the explanation on the second page but I got kinda confused still. Sorry if this is repetitive but just wanna make sure for total clarification, he was a single crown prince at the time he met FL, fell in love with her, bought her as a slave, made her a concubine and made Valeria as empress right? Like he didn’t have two relationships at once like in the second timeline right?
I know he only had children with FL in the first timeline but the idea of him being married to someone else like in the second timeline despite not loving his wife bothers me lol

thank you for answering my question with detail btw!

Alright, thank you! As long as there wasn’t any prior woman (even if it’s political engagement/marriage) in the first timeline, it makes me more reassured that they were meant to be since the beginning hehe

if it were a case of he was engaged before and then found someone else, even though she’s nothing like Rashta, it would’ve reminded me of The abandoned empress (Although Valeria is a total cruel person).

oh, was he engaged to Valeria prior in the first timeline? I’m assuming not because of the fact that her father gave the FL as a gift to coax the ML when he was the crown prince. I’m pretty sure the ML and the FL were a first love type of trope in the first timeline. We can say that for the other timelines as well but since he was already married in one timeline (the second one), I understand why you’d feel that way!
Although, If anyone wants to confirm my statement please do so!

Yes. He wasn't 'engaged' to her.
The thing is Valarie ended up engaged/marrying him in everytime timeline except the one where he was executed because her family was one of the strongest in the Empire. Their backing was what each time he needed and was unable to escape their clutches.

I believe just like the 4th timeline, he must be compelled or pressured to marry Valarie. In the novel Valarie would mercilessly bully Lara and steal her thing saying if it wasn't for Lara, the position of first Empress was of hers because it was always expected for Valarie to marry Alec.

It was mentioned that they met when they were little older. Time wasn't able to bring them earlier, had he met her, he would've married her and took her to his palace right away like he did after meeting her in the second timeline. About his marriage, seeing how he was forced to pair up with Valarie it's not strange to believe in the theory that the nobles must have pressured him to marry her. He also needed a strong backing to raise his power and face his half brother, he might felt there's no choice but to bring her as an Empress.

Bruh this is what I'm looking for. About the current TL if he did those things again or prevented it.

Tysm! I've been looking for spoilers in the current TL, so basically most will be flashbacks from their past lives.

I've slept on it and no matter how much I may try, I simply cannot think of this as a romance story, no matter what. Not even dark romance. The only person who always draws the shortest end of the stick is Rose. The only good point of this novel is that, to a certain degree, is realistic in its tragedy concerning power struggles and the matters of national and royal interests. It is clearly a break from the overpowered Emperor & the enduring love that comes out victorious because even in the last timeline, the only reason Rose accepted her fate was because of her time-reversing son and little more. As long as one reads this as a look into politics and the dark side of power, the story might appear more appealing. I'm not sure, however, how good the political/conspiracy thwarting part of the plot is. At the very least, the horrors of the imperial harem and the interests of the noble families are portrayed a bit more realistically than in other stories, especially with how the Emperor can't outright dismiss them nor ignore them once they go against his personal wishes.
