Hello everyone. I finally caught upto the latest chapters of the novel and i must thank the users here for their contribution . This thread is so lively. I was following both the novel and manhwa but then suddenly saw a spoiler under the manhwa comment section that Bastian rapes her and takes away her child to raise the kid with his mistress. (Now i know it's false and the source of this misinformation was tiktok). At that time i was so annoyed because i absolutely hate it when male leads are outright cruel and torture the fls for no reason just because they think of the girls as their property. Also it was appalling to see how the women forgave them so easily without having an ounce of self respect.( There was this novel whose name I don't even remember. So the male lead there is a Duke who is engaged to a commoner because of some promise. He hated her first but then became weirdly obsessed with her and in the midst of that ended up causing her a lot of harm, eventually r@ping her by using her family as a threat. But 4 chapters later she easily forgives him because she finds out, he did all those things so that he could marry her. I was so annoyed as that man didn't even repent his action. Where is the groveling, redemption arc? He was so shameless that he admitted in front of her that given a chance to go back he will do those things to her again .Heard he never asked for forgiveness but they ended up living happily with their kid. I dropped it so fast) Now coming back to Bastian, due to the spoilers i thought this is another gone case with the ml being the worst in manhwa history but i decided to check for myself and ended reading the rest of the chapters in MTL. Just like majority here, i found Bastian to be a complete pos for violating Odette. However my perception after i read the spoilers and now is a bit different. The thing is , Odette harmed him too. Not saying she deserved to be raped for that. But unlike other novels, here we see both the leads inflicting pain on each other on different level. She is heartless, never tried to know him, he is the least of her priorities and even ended up betraying him for her careless sister who never gave a damn abt her. So i can understand why he would have the urge to let her suffer the same amount of pain or be obsessed with revenge(his backstory ads some context here too, but i won't go in detail as it's been discussed many times here). He is a man lives by calculating every action. No way he was going to suffer alone. But in his madness he ends up r@ping her , a crime which is unforgivable. But since this is fiction we know how they will end up. One thing i like here is that the fl character is so consistent. She decided she will not waste her emotions on any man and she stood by it. And i think we have a long way to go for her to reciprocate his feelings. The ml is also showing signs of repentance and i believe he will beg for forgiveness. It's good to see the development of a twisted character like Bastian, whose calculations failed all due to one woman named Odette. And she is still unperturbed. Can't wait for the next update. PS: I saw people discussing abt broken ring . Ngl i started the manhwa/novel because of the hype but soon got bored. I have had enought of the galore of regression/isekai/time travel stories. Like give me one historical story full of angst where one doesn't have any super power strength or knows what's going to happen in future so that they can manipulate it. Carcel is a green flag and obviously better than Bastian but the latter had more interesting qualities as a ml imo. His complex character ads layers to the story. Bastian over all, i feel like i have a love and hate relationship with this story. Sometimes i want the leads to just sit and clear out their misunderstandings. But oh well how will we get drama if everything is sort out so easily.lol
That novel is 'Love doesn't matter'. True, we are both alike. I don't know why, I too lose interest whenever something is hyped. No complaints because the authors deserves the hype but this weird thing happens to me everytime. Good thing I read 'This marriage is bound to fail anyway/This Marriage is bound to sink anyway/Broken ring' before the hype. It also happened to me with 'Under the Oak Tree', I started reading the novel when there was no hype about it and barely 6-7 threads on the spoiler section or even less. But after a few months when it took off, I stopped reading it. Weird. Lmao true. I think I need therapy because I've read so many complex characters and angsty plot that without it something feels amiss. I'll see a light-hearted read and I'll be like - Uh? No drama. Just Kidding.
Thanks for mentioning it. That novel was such a trash that i even flushed out it's name. Regret wasting my time. One thing i absolutely dislike is when there is no change in character. I can forgive most of the atrocities done my the leads as long as i feel they suffered or repented enough in return. Here like i said , atleast Bastian knows that he can never win her heart. That is the biggest punishment for him because man was love deprived and wanted her attention to be on him not her family. Meanwhile in "love doesn't matter", just like the name, it actually didn't matter for the ml . He was happy as long as he could satisfy his lust or keep her in his possession even if it meant she suffers in eternal pain. Bastian atleast untill the betrayal and eventual rape scene was being realistic and made it clear in every step that this is a business deal(although he ended up falling for her ). I also remember how he said that he doesn't want the past to repeat itself so he decided that if he is going to have to kids , it will be with Sandrine, his eventual wife. But then he fell in love with Odette, got betrayed and did the unthinkable just so that he can break her pride. However in the end it was him who had to bend infront of Odette and change his ways. She although being the one at the lower end in their imbalanced relationship had the power to drive him mad. So this kind of karma was actually satisfactory imo.
Yeah as you said, bastian biggest karma is odette not reciprocating his feelings. You know until the rape scene I thought that both need to let that pride and apologize to each other (because both has done harms to one or another ) but raping can’t be forgiven easily and in real life there is absolutely no chance of a woman ending up with her rapist (even if its her husband) but this fiction we are talking about. Bastian need to work Alot to win odette affection, Redemption arc has began so tight you seat beats we are going to have a nice show to watch It amaze me that when I first looked up spoiler for the novel it was only 13 thread how did we reach 70 thread already
Yup so true. 70 threads and still some more chapters for this novel to end. We will also get an Epilogue + Side Stories and if we're a little bit more lucky, she may grace us with special side stories as well.
Yesss I cannot wait for the epilogue & side stories cause Solche tends to make them super sweet. I read the epilogue + side stories for CEBIYB & Problematic Prince and those chapters got me giggling and rolling around my bed.

Ah yes I read that manhwa, I thought I would like it because of the seductive art.. but apparently not, yep because the ML is fckboy (how do I rate ML) but I never intended to hate them let alone utter hatred, just because my Bastian was insulted then I got angry .. sorry for calling carcel too ok thanks, sorry if any of my words are wrong.. maybe it's because I'm angry, I've been reading that manhwa until suddenly I lost my appetite.. before this, I never cared even though I didn't like carcel, let alone make fun of it. it's just that I don't understand why they compared the two ML which were not comparable, just because they are blonde hair and blue eyes..
Well I really don't understand why you get angry when they curse Bastian I mean so far he hasn't done anything to atone for the wrong he did to Odette he understands his feelings and he knows he loves her but he hasn't done anything yet to win her love or apologize for his past actions and also we can't stop any A person about his hatred and insults, first of all, he raped her and humiliated her a lot. Not many can accept a happy ending for him even after the redemption arc. After all, everyone has their freedom to express their opinion, love or hate.
It happens. As you can read in the above comment by a user Bastian's rate is too low and he hasn't done anything to atone for that. Unlike us who got attached to the characters because we are here from the beginning those guys on TikTok weren't. Let them be, they will forget about it when a new manhwa releases kek. After all, we can't really point them out because Bastian indeed did horrible things but I totally understand you and why you're agitated.

For Bastian he just made first step, he realised he loves Odette and things he did were horrible. When he first learned about Odettes betrayal he hated himself because he thought he is just like his mother. He loved "unworthy" person just like mother. Now he realised he is no different then people he hates father, stepmother, Franz and Sandrine, that's why he wanted to kill Franz and Sandrine. Next chapters won't be easy for him, I think his whole world crumbled, it is that moment you realise your whole life was a lie. I think next step should be helping Odette and clear this mess and let her go. If author wants to make happy ending I'm fine with that too.
Spot on!! I loved how the author showed transition in his perception. First he hated Odette because he got reminded of his mother who trusted a person undeserved of her love. But he failed to understand the simple fact that unlike his father, Odette never promised to love him back. Him expecting her to return his feelings is simply wrong because it was him who first made it clear that she will never be his first priority. There was even a line where he thinks that this amount of hatred for some mere stolen document is not normal. But he was too blinded with rage to accept that his anger stemmed from his failure to acknowledge that even after giving her money he can't win her heart . Lol and now he realised he is no different from his father and saw his reflection as a monster in her eyes. The redemption arc is definitely going to be satisfactory. So far Odette doesn't have any positive feelings towards him forget abt being in love.
Guys, I've decided to buy Bastian, all the volumes on Naver after it is completed. Naver is a little bit fussy but it works for me unlike Kakaopage where I wasn't even able to make an ID. I've 3 IDs on Naver but I deleted the app because 1) I wasn't able to use the web so translating the text and directions was hectic 2) The novel I wanted to read and for which I've downloaded it, I accidentally put no to daily tickets which made me upset. But I'm such a fan for Solche that I'm willing to take this hectic route to support her. By announcing it, I want you guys to help me searching if there are other sites where we can purchase the novels that are up for sale when they're completed? I've heard Aladdin is a good site but I want someone who has first-hand experience in purchase from that site to guide me for safety. Not only that, I also want to purchase all the volumes of Cry, Even Better if You Beg. She is my favourite author and I want to help her monetary by legally purchasing her books. The Volumes I've for it were given to me by a friend on discord. I feel bad that I didn't bought them. Although I'm still a student, I think I've enough money and because my birthday is coming soon, this will be a gift for me from me.

Yup. There are many people who have brought raws that might be experienced in international purchased. I hope someone can guide us on that otherwise I search myself and buy it anyhow taking God's name. It's just because once I was duped by Google pay where my transaction was done and yet somehow the book didn't showed up in my library (A Korean Novel), online purchasing scared me. On top of that it was my mother's account I did the transaction with. It took me 5-6 calls, one official complaint and email to get my money back.
Are there digital books of this author? I thought her books can be only purchased at NAVER. CEBIYB have already official English translation at Yonder app with title Cry, or Better Yet, Beg. So I decided to purchase English translation rather than just buy Korean books which language I don’t know.
