I read CM got another title and it's from Jang Ilso? I dont know what's the meaning of the title.
What's the different between that title and Mount hua's divine dragon? Is it more respectable or higher or what?

 

'Hwasan Geomhyeop' (화산 검협) is the one he got from Ilso. Geom (sword) hyeop (chivalry/righteousness/justice- something along that line)

I remember some said that Hwasan Shinryong is so chuuni and Hwasan Geomhyeop is more formal? I don't know. But I prefer Ho Gamyeong's new nickname for him Maehwageomgwi, too bad it was only among the Sapaeryeon that this name was spread.

 

Mount Hua Divine Dragon or Hwasan Shinryong. "Shinryong" is a nickname usually given to the strongest young rising star martial artist. But that's all. You're still only being recognized as a rising star. In the first place this nickname is considered by seeing how much your potential will grow in the future, so though you're being recognized as strong, others will still treat you like a child.

Basically with his new nickname you can think of it as Cheongmyeong being officially recognized as a warrior in Kangho, and is competent enough to fight with martial masters far away from his age. Not to mention that the one who gave him that nickname is Jang Ilso, a sapa and enemy of jeongpa. Getting a nickname from your enemy just added to the credibility and weight of it.

 

How readable is the mtl? I just finished the last chapter on mylasted, and I just can’t waiiit. Also, which site has the best mtl?

 

very readable nowadays. you can use the raws and then blast them into deepL, chatgpt or papago etc ..

This <hyeop (chivalry/righteousness/justice> is not the same with Baek Chun's title? His is mounth hua's righteous sword iirc.

Maybe it's just my pet peeve or ocd in reading the translations.
I dont get why almost all the translators, will translate HwaSan as Mount Hua but keep Shaolin or Wudang as Shaolin and Wudang. Or translate it as Mount Hua not Flower mountain yet translate Jongnam as Southern edge.
I mean, where's the consistency??

 

Baekcheon's title is Hwasan Jeonggeom which is Hwasan Righteous Sword. Jeong when you search it on Naver dictionary will really be equivalent to Right.

Meanwhile 'Hyeob' is on a broader side and can mean chivalry, generosity, cooperation, justice which also encompasses righteousness if you look at some synonymous words.

As for your pet peeve... All I can say is that we are reading it for free, unless you subscribed for an early releases. So it is enough for me to get the meaning across when reading translations. Compared to reading brain wrecking MTL, such naming inconsistencies is a trivial matter for me.
