    I swear everytime I see "son-in-law" i chuckle :blobrofl:

According to this site, it can be translated as "surroundings"

From what I understood it can be said
Bastian went up to his assigned room and took a shower first. When he finished shaving, his beard was bright.

    This meeting was very refreshing...
Bastian must confess, even if he is rejected.
After all, Odette was only able to have peace after her departure.
But I hope they stay together, and it would be even better if Meg were alive.
The author could give a very tragic ending to Sandrine (I hate that b*tch).

Like I mentioned in the other thread, it most probably means "face"

I dont think she will reject nor accept him.
Maybe just allowimg him to be by her side a little?they get get know each other. They never has this chance because of the way this marriage started.
It would be good if they could move and Odette could work too.She always seems more comfortable being around simple people and teaching then pretending to be a typical trophy wife that only stays at home and goes to parties.

It is very interesting what Odette will tell him and how he will try to establish relations with her. His appearance is a little dissonant with the way they parted, it was under tragic and painful circumstances. Although I'm rooting for their reunion, I hope Odette clears up her feelings and gives him a good idea of what he's done.

maybe this is a bit off topic, but when I read this novel I was reminded of the manhwa "19th century memorandum" I would suggest for those of you who like complicated stories like "bastian"

    That's a really good one.

I've read that manhwa but I've never read it 'properly' nor would I be able to. The theme of death, mystery and betrayal even for me, an angst lover, is too much to bear. I just skimmed over the chapters and read the ending directly along with detailed spoilers (to not miss out for skipping few chapters) which saved my mental health.

It uses dark and heavy themes. The plot is too good, the art is top notch and the execution of the entire story/narrative is excellent but it is way dark than Bastian. I'll rather even not label Bastian as a 'dark' novel or maybe I've too much read of the 'dark' K-Novels that I undermine the theme of this particular one. Whatever it is, 19th Century Memorandum is way different than Bastian and only to be read when one's mental health is in the right place otherwise it can take a toll. And you're right, it's 'complicated' but the complications are way darker than any of the novels of Solche combined, atleast for me.

@Elyriona It's not son-in-law, it's actually 'smile', there's a clear explanation to it but it is someone else on discord that asked their Korean friend. I've not yet gotten the permission to attach the screenshot here, all in it, the word there doesn't means surroundings, face or any other thing, it's 'smile'.

Bastian went up to his assigned room and took a shower first. When he finished shaving, his smile was bright.

When he reached the end of the letter read carefully, the smile was brightly lit.

Is there anything out there that helps teach Hangul and Korean effectively? Also I love dark romances, I have read the 19th century one. It was good. I'll stay for pretty much anything if the art is good enough but I'm open to any and all suggestions. I have read a lot of manhwa so I would probably need to venture into web novels for finding something new.

Thank you all of you! Mmm, it seems this word doesn’t have definite meaning at has multiple meaning. Then I will it depending of situation.

Really? Then it will be great help. I am curious what users of your discord think of it.

Oh, so there is one more meaning: smile. That’s is unexpected. TBH, I have the doubts, he wouldn’t smile knowing his character and situations in which he was those moments.

The first one happened when Bastian arrived at hotel and was ready to look for Odette (the last chapter).

The second one happened when Bastian was reading Theodora's letter. She was coursing him, so I don’t think he think he would be smile in this situation. He was far away from positive state.

I think it would be more suitable to say that his surroundings ware bright, not him.

Nevertheless, thank you so much! I now have some knowledge of this word.

This is maybe random I like both pictures for novel, but seriously women would never wear corset on bare skin in the past but I guess it is artistic choice and many people do believe that. Anyway I'm not criticising, hope we get third novel art. :blobuwu:

Wearing corset on bare skin is a common misconception yeah, which is a shame.

I also hope that we'd have another cover art, a happy one this time :blobsob:

That Korean person told our member it's a visual expression, which the word can be used for. Bastian, is an unexpected man, who knows, or he must be smiling looking forward for meeting with Odette? Whatever it is, I'm sorry for not being able to be a big help

    Regardless, thank you.

It must be a corset enclosed in some type of cloth? Or maybe layered from inside? No?

It gave me that feels. It looked like it's covered with a silk clothing with frills as an addition and a little padding at the bust.

Maybe in this art particularly I don't know, but in real life I don't think they sew corset and cloth together they usually were separate and piece of cloth underneath was usually more visible. Maybe as you suggested in this case was silk beneath corset, it is fictional world based on some real things, clothes could be different also. I just pointed because it would be painful to wear only corset on bare skin, but sometimes even historic movies make that mistake, nothing unusual.

Yes. I was only pointing it out in the art. I've no knowledge in corsets or history of corsets lol.
Right. Even I've seen women wearing a thin, body-fitting clothing before wearing the corsets in videos dedicated to that type of dressing.
