I didn't like their interaction at all which felt like cheap pillow talk between two barely acquainted people. At this point of the story, I feel we needed something better than an encounter like one night stand.
Well, to be fair, Bastian tried to apologize when he went to her tea party without knowing but Odette wasn't ready to accept even that. Currently, the upcoming war is what prevents Bastian from doing everything he planned to do (apologize, be forgiven, confess). And Odette is not going to say anything if he doesn't open up. At this point, introducing another push is the only way for them to be honest. I don't think he can survive the war at his current state. I don't think Odette is actually ready to part with him either.
Maybe it is realistic despite all character development Bastian is still same cold person he was living like that for 20+ years. Maybe if they didn't break him as child he would be good person. Odette as Odette is still too reserved, she doesn't know him at all, he understands her far better then she him. But it is strange how both of them misunderstand each other, I mean Bastian think she wouldn't sleep with you after everything you have done if she doesn't love you, and I think Odette should know him by now that he doesn't do anything out of pity he obviously has feeling for her. If author is planning to make another 50 chapters then fine by me.

Atleast Odette took one step forward even if she didn't clarify why she wanted him to stay. The last part kind of annoyed me. He ran away like a coward. Odette has just started to come to terms with her feelings and tried to open up, meanwhile he abandons her without giving any proper farewell. Pretty sure Odette would have understood. Why make it all seem so complicated. Now she is going to get hurt again.Normally i hate this type of noble idiocy but since we have already come so far and know how frequently misunderstandings happen here, i can overlook it. With that said, I want to give thumbs up to Solche. She is such an amazing writer. I live for angst and not knowing how to read Hangul is one of my biggest regret at this moment. We can figure out the context roughly with the help of MTL, but a lot of details are left out. I will probably re read this novel again when fan translation is completed.
