We agree her evolution as a woman is incredible, she is incredibly sensual when she is with Bastian and she is passionately in love. He ran away?? I didn't understand that myself... I thought he was waking up and getting ready to leave but not that he had already left at the end of the chapter!!
He hasn't left until now . But the last few lines of the novel seemed like a quiet farewell to Odette while she was still asleep. Imagine how she would feel once she wakes up and finds him gone. It's very unlikely that he will listen to her and stay . The separation is imminent. Let's just hope i am proven wrong and meets Odette one last time before he leaves in the next chapter.
If Odette's dream gives us some hints, maybe he will come back with Meg and then leave, maybe she will even be pregnant.
The development in Odette's feelings is very good, but I don't want her to confess to him. First, he must tell her that he loves her. I have a feeling that, he will go to war, comeback injured. Odette will find out, and she will go to take care of him. And this is how they are going to re-union.
The farewell is so bitter sweet. I feel the table has turned for them. Now Odette is the one wishing to be with him but she desperately needs to realise, it's not for passion but love. I hope the next time they meet each other, will have happy ending.
I don't know, I think the author exchange the roles of Bastian and Odette. She wants Odette to also feel longing for Bastian, I say it looks like they are really going to separate. imo odette is pregnant, then Bastian memory loss or something like that makes Odette have to work hard to make him fall in love again HAHA clichéd theory XD
No notice of hiatus (yet). I hope we get an update today! So I see some readers speculate that Bastian may die or return crippled. Personnally, I don't like both options! Odette and Bastian as never been truly happy in their life except (maybe) these 5 days together. I don't want to see Bastian dying like that and I don't want to imagine the pain Odette must face. If he returns crippled Odette would want to take care of him but I dont think Bastian would let her do it. He knows she has spent her life taking care of her family, he wouldn't want to be a new burden now that she's free from them. I also don't want to see Odette continue to devote herself to taking care of others. It's time for her to live for herself and to be cared for.
