As far as I read in the manhwa Garyun never saw the corpse. He just saw the baby and was told it was his son
Oh ... As far as I remember the mark was done by - what's her name? - the female shadow guard's shuriken and she is in on the plan. They could have faked it. E.g. they hurt the maidservant at the start of the plan with that same shuriken. They would have done it quite a while before so the wound doesn't seem too fresh and can scar over. And well... I suppose there wasn't a possibility of determining how old exactly the wound is.
