Spoiler: MC background

The MC is a adult who transmigrates into a book as a cannon fodder side character (starting as a child). She has become the witches daughter (or more accurately the other kid the witch stole).
In the OG story, she grows up as a child tormented and abused by the witch. If she does not abuse the ML on the witches orders, she is punished. Her OG version essentially obeys the witch to survive. later in the story she is meant to be executed with the witch as her "daughter". However, it is implied they are not related. OG daughter was very much a prisoner and parallels the ML (aka stolen child #1) in treatment.
in order to change her fate, she intends to try and take care of the ML instead of abuse him (at the risk of her own safety) in the hopes they can both escape & survive

Spoiler: MC abilities

1) She is an adult with an understanding of the plot and that she is being abused.
2) she is a Ludkalena, which is a being full of magic but cannot use it. they are typically hated by magic users and treated poorly for being useless. The witch aparently keeps her for magic extraction experiments. She can however potentially create medicine if she learns how.
3) beasts seem to like her. the 3 headed cerberous hounds that guard the hut are vicious to everyone, even the witch, but they act like puppies around her.

Spoiler: ML background and curse

Stolen child #1. He lives in a hut in the woods imprisoned by a number of curses
1) he turns into a beast when he is stressed.
2) he cant do anything to make himself more comfortable like starting a fire to keep warm (it will just go out).
The witch keeps him on a diet of poisonous plants and torments him bc the more stressed he is the bigger the beast gets and the less humanity he has. mild annoyance = a small black kitty or cat-boy ears.
The reason he was kidnapped is that he is the prince with the most magic directly in line for the throne (son of the king). The witch isnt happy about that bc her boy-toy is a minor prince (brother of the king?) with no magic and poor prospects of getting the throne. If she can keep the prince a beast and siphon off his powers, the throne goes to her and her boyfriend.

Spoiler: events thus far

MC wakes up and is beaten up by the witch repeatedly. She gets beaten up for calling the witch "ma'am" instead of "miss witch" and for using scraps of the witches clothes to make a cloak. She does a pretty good job hiding that she is taking care of the prince but nearly dies when she triggers the witch. It almost seems like the witch felt guilt at one point when the MC drank poison (that the witch left her to drink). The witch went out of her way to save the MC so the witch wants her alive, and seems to feel some responsibility to her, but not enough to stop the physical abuse. So far the MC has only stolen a few things and begun to earn the MLs trust

 

Is the ML reincarnated? He seems to know things a 9 year old shouldn't know, any although he explains it when the FL questions it, I wonder if he's lying
