Honesty the ML should jst cut his losses and move on. She doswt want a kid due to her past and the daughter is probably truamtizsd already

Forcing a bond won't end well for either people so he should move on or get remarried

It's too late for the MC and daughter to have any kind of healthy relationship

I seriusly hope everything isn't happy dappy and they easily become a happy family. If the MC wanted to not be a mom then stick by her dicision and don't go back. It'll just retramutize the kid more

And idk I feel like it'll be tasteless I'd it goes down the route of genric rofan since this is a very common issues that's too complex. And forgive me but but judging from experience most kr novels are wattapd tier so I dont know if it can handle the nuance of these situations

    Whats that poem?

They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.

But they were fucked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another’s throats.

Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don’t have any kids yourself.

I want to know the ending please, is it happy ending with the ML and FL together or just like the author's previous work I need to prepare for my heart for the angst that's coming...

The thread is five pages and mostly asking for spoilers. Actually, just saw the first 3 chapters of the manhwa and judging on what I can see, you can already speculate why MC doesn't want to have a relationship with her child. Even if the reasoning is the somewhat trope-y "I'm not mentally well due to my past trauma and I don't think I can nor deserve to love a child". I have to clarify just in case, I am not downplaying MCs trauma, just that the manhwa did an impressive job showing her detachment in the world already. That one flashback of her being abused by her brother is enough. Some may think but she could stay and heal, but we're considering the worldbuilding narrative shown so far that MC is incredibly broken. The fact ML is willing to side with his wife despite hearing and seeing how she's treated is amazing in itself already.

Spoilers wise, again to capitalize what was already mentioned here but not emphasized, it's a HAPPY ENDING. If the last cover focusing on the 3 main characters smiling isn't any indication (the 2 leads' portraits look okay, but the important thing is their baby girl looks happy and smiling while staring at us in the cover)

Personally, I'm curious how and why the daughter looked for her and how just as bad MLs backstory is. How is he... more normal?

Well, since no one's doing spoilers- I saw this comment from a person that read the novel and it gives a bit of info on the webtoon for it:

"I fear this format won’t do it justice, because the emotions involved are very complicated and subtle.

I do remember being absolutely infuriated by the ex husband. He is the arrogant, handsome, and powerful type, and he took it for granted that she’d just….fall in love with him. Without him doing anything.

Just assumed she would naturally become obsessed with him as his due, and was pretty insulted when she didn’t and followed through with their contract.

His thoughts on her and the baby are pretty glib. Again, he expects she’d jump on the chance to stay and run things for him, because he assumed the baby *he asked for and required* would be enough to ignite all those gushy, girly feelings and “fix” her.

Never mind that he was making her have an unwanted sexual relationship with him for half a decade and she was always told the kid wouldn’t be hers.

He never said he loved her or tried anything to foster love back, just thought it would all conveniently slot together to his advantage."

No, he doesn't. He's a pretty good dad.

It was mainly the ML who looked for her. The daughter just tagged along cause she also wanted to meet her. Then when they were in the same city, the two met by coincidence. Only after describing her features to her dad later did she realize that the woman she met was her mother. And she wanted to meet her cause she believed that after meeting, she can make her mom love her. ML told her the truth before that her mom left cause she couldn't love them.

And for ML's backstory, well it's also kinda sad but not as bad as FL's. His mom loved his sick younger brother a lot, almost obsessed actually. And his dad just neglected his family, only providing them with material things thinking his wife was taking good care of everyone. His mom took his things from him whenever his brother wanted them (brother was a jealous psycho too), always told him to give his brother priority. She gaslighted him, guilt tripped him for things he didn't do - overall just mentally abused him with her toxicity. Then during his early teens, he was forced to go to war. Laws aside, his mom almost happily packed him up to send him to the battlefield. He saw death for the first time and saw that everyone dies in was equally regardless of blue blood. Trauma and PTSD from being in war for a long time finally made him break when he went back home. But as the eldest and only healthy son, he had to have a successor soon. So his mom gave him the idea of the contract marriage and child so that his brother can adopt the child later and finally succeed the title. She didn't even help him recuperate but rather abandoned him. She convinced him that with this, he'll be free from pressure and his brother will get the title that he should as he's had a hard life and deserves the best. Later when his dad learned this, she even directly called him crazy and stuff totally ignoring his feelings. And he also never got any help for his mental issues. He has PTSD with blood and death so when he heard that FL killed people, he directly blamed her saying that she shouldn't and that nobody deserves to die. FL thought of him as a hypocrite as he himself killed a lot of human in war and didn't even know her reasons. He later gets over his fear of blood when he sees FL and his daughter after birth. The bloody scene of his daughter's birth replaces his other bloody memories.

Also, their sex life was horrible. FL hated human contact due to physical abuse but could somehow tolerate ML cause she him as a "good person". ML's situation made him not want to do anything with anyone. He just wanted to be left alone in peace. So both of them did it unwillingly and roughly with minimal physical contact.

Why am I not surprised most of this mess can be attributed to his attitude? I don't know what he expected to happen when he constantly reminded the FL of the contract and her place in the family
