Hi. I'm looking for recommendations of novels where either the MC's reality is somehow shown as fiction to others or the MC's fiction (either games, books, or comics) is turned into reality. It usually involves an audience's reaction to the events happening as well. Here are a few examples that I've found: Mini World of Endless Fun Awaits (Games -> Reality) - ~260 translated Webnovel chapters out of 881 chapters. Novelhi has a pretty decent MTL of the full novel. You Seem to be Drawing Me (Reality -> Manga) - ~50 translated chapters out of 400 chapters I’m the Mysterious Leader of the Salvation Organization (Game -> Reality) - ~300 translated chapters out of 600 translated. Shift! The Side-Character Heroine (Transmigrates into Alternate Reality Temporarily -> Mangas mostly) - Fully translated In Virtual Reality (Games -> Reality) - Fully translated, said to be first book of an upcoming saga.
I've read Hail the King long ago when it was still new. He does incarnate into a game, namely, Diablo from which he pulls benefits from to use in the standard fantasy world he found himself in. Not exactly what I'm looking for. I haven't read Dimensional Sovereign so I'll be checking it out.
I guess constellations count as audience since theyre basically watching the events through stream and sending messages and stuff
Martial Streamer - mc streams on youtube from a cultivation world, and his viewers from Earth treat his content as made-up. Legendary Mechanic - mc becomes a game npc, and players treat him as such often discussing about him in online forums. This Game Is Too Realistic - mc ends up as the admin of a fallout shelter (the game) and fakes it as a VRMMO to recruit labor/players for his shelter. You can also try the list below. Several of the entries have novel translations here in NU. Webtoons Where a Game Turns Into Reality A Story Manifests in Reality
Otherworld TRPG Game Master translated by GenesisTL It's about illusion mage who invented magic that can simulate living world Everyone thinks he is connecting with other worlds while it's just his magic
"The Man in the High Castle" by Philip K. Dick, probably the first and best novel in which this idea is used.
These are perhaps the best recommendations so far and fit the criteria quite well! Thank you! It is more standard misunderstandings novel but it does look quite a good read, thanks. I'm not quite sure WWII AH is quite I'm looking for? Still, thanks anyway, I guess.
I don’t know if BL is okay with you, but this is all I got aside from ‘The Legendary Mechanic’ and ‘Apocalypse Lord’ . ‘I’m Not Shouldering This Blame’
I took a quick look The premise is the basic "MC turns into their game character". It isn't a game being played which then affects reality, or reality being somehow recorded/drawn to be interpreted as fiction for an audience. It is a pretty interesting novel though so I might be reading it anyway. Thanks! I dislike romance in general, of all kinds, as it is usually not that good and most of the time I want the "romantic" parts to be over so we get more story-relevant content. It doesn't stop me from reading them, though, if the premise is good enough. Mini World of Endless Fun Awaits is a harem novel, annoyingly so, but the game parts are good enough to bear through it. Anyway, I'll give I'm not Shouldering the Blame a try later on. I've read into The Legendary Mechanic and somehow I've forgotten about it. It does certainly fit weirdly enough! It does take awhile to get the start of the game but it is quite fun. I haven't read Apocalypse Lord but I'll be checking it out as well. It seems to fit the criteria.
It's BL but Safety Manual Labor Tips with a Twist of 2D's whole premise fits what you're looking for. It's about a post-apocalypse world where characters from fictions come to life ranging from harmless child show characters to dangerous horror movie ghosts. Don't think there's much audience reaction tho.
