Were FL's parents good to her? Because if yes, then this is kinda f'ed up. Because again, another FL with balls of steel. I mean, I'm not close to my parents but I could never IMAGINE marrying and having a kid with their murderer. Like, love would be forever off the table. I know she resisted, but she still gave up and apparently loved him? Even if I soften towards them, or it's just a "mIsUnDeRsTanDiNg", I could never imagine how to explain to my children "Your grandparents were good people, they loved me a lot, and your father killed them and looted my country."

I wish i could find this novel translated in english.. i really loved the manhwa and the r19 version of the novel is much superior from the few spoils i could found.

The webtoon is pretty awful compared to the novel lol the artwork changes a lot and none of the changes were really improvements. The artist just seems to take on a whole nother style. It’s also awfully censored. ML and FL are full on clothed for a lot of their snu scenes even though it seems they’re still perfectly fine with portraying the noncon lol I guess SA is teen friendly enough as long as they’re clothed? I’m so sick of R-19 novels being picked up only to be adapted into watered down rated-all disney versions of the original smh The novel IS good though. I just hate how flat and rushed the ending was. Also the fact that there were over 10 side stories and NONE of them were on the main couple at all lmao The big redemption lies in how well written the dynamic and spicy times between the ML and FL are and how it establishes their characters traits and develops their relationship. Don’t get me wrong it’s a very toxic story and a cesspool of Stockholm syndrome but it’s written in such an intriguing way and the ML is as charismatic and captivating as he is toxic. The webtoon couldn’t even capture the redeeming parts of the novel so I didn’t bother going back to it after finishing the mtl novel. I love Yuri as a character. He knows he’s a toxic red flag, owns it with no shame, and never really changes but at the same time he’s as emotionally immature and affection starved as a lost child. Honestly a big himbo dunce who was as much a newly hatched chick as the FL was in the beginning of the story. He’s 100% in for anything as long as it’s to protect the FLs life and make her happy. The biggest difference highlighted between Yuri and her ex fiancé is that even though Yuri has a rude snarky mouth and childish temper, he always keeps every single one of the promises he makes to her. If he tells her he’s going to protect her he does it. If he tells her he’s going to come back for her, he always pulls up. Even if accommodating for her safety pulls him back he’s always committing to it. Whereas her fiancé/childhood knight who made all sorts of flowery oaths to her, honestly saw her more as just the princess of his country than her as herself. The reason for that is because his biggest priority was always their country itself. He treasures her because she is the princess of the country he loves and is incredibly loyal to. That’s why as gentlemanly, loyal, and righteous as he is, his love for the FL just feels shabby and lukewarm in comparison to Yuri’s.
