I think the English name is An Endless Escape: My Sinister Lover. I was wondering if anyone knew if this Manhua was axed and the reason for it. The story had 14 chapters for season 1. Also, did this story have a novel?
It has been axed. According to the translation team, so I wouldn't expect a season 2 or any more chapters. It doesn't seem like there is a novel, but you can find similar stories, although as a mostly BL reader, most of it seems to be BL from my perspective. Anyway the genre probably comes under Infinite Flow (which also usually goes hand to hand with horror). If you find infinite flow not to your liking, Quick Transmigration also more or less follows a similar pattern.
As I said as a primarily BL reader I can only give you BL recs lol. For Infinite Flow/Unlimited Flow novels most similar to the manhua I'd start with: I rely on Kisses to Clear Survival Games. From what I remember the novel has a similar vibe to the manhua. Meeting a Demonic Cultivator, even God cries. This one is past plays a big role, not quite similar to the manhua but still enjoyable, I think it was a bit rushed at the end, but most novels are lol. Card Room. Same genre, slightly different premise but the core is there and the protags are smart, I dropped because it's quite long and I got bored. I know you wanted complete ones, but I personally like these incomplete ones enough to put them here: The Days I Clear Escape Games Pretending to be an NPC. This one is really interesting, and since it's incomplete, I wait for an arc to finish before reading it one go to prevent boredom and promote easier digestion! It updates twice every weekend.
