Maybe it’s because of the family I grew into being full of weirdos (or maybe because I’m a weirdo), but I always wondered why everyone can’t just mind their own business? Yeah, some people are different than you and that’s how they’re human in their own way, yet people want to judge that and criticize them?

There is probably a scientific reason as to why I probably haven’t searched up yet :blobstare:. Just wanted everyone’s opinion on why people want to get themselves into trouble they originally had no part in.

Do you know why people live in society/community? If you know the answer, that's why.

Personally, getting into anything sounds like a hassle. And that’s why I’m such a good guy because anything else takes effort. Getting into drama. Too much effort. Drinking alcohol. To much effort. Drugs. To much effort. I’m a slug. That like my piece and quite.
The only reason I step up is so I can get it over with so I can go back to my nap.
Maybe I’m weird like that. Lol

    Mhmm.
I think with strangers, it's purely out of curiosity and boredom. People like drama and they want to be more involved when there is no downside to them. Also other people's drama is a good distraction from one's own problems and serves as a "As least I don't have such a messy family (or whatever) as them" reminder. People like to forget about the plank in their eye by focusing on the speck of sawdust in other people's eyes.

Between people who don't like each other, it's shadenfreude. And for malicious people, getting involved to make things worse because they enjoy causing trouble. Also, on top of distracting oneself from one's problems, this meddling allows to distract other people from one's problems! Basically, pulling public attention on others than yourself. Great for people who have things to be ashamed off. There's a reason why hypocrites are so good at it.

Now, not all meddling hides bad intentions. Between people who like each other, it's generally caused by worry. You want to badly for the other person's problems to be solved, because you feel their hurt and care for them, that you step in to solve (or rather try) their problems. Its very common for outsiders to think they have the solution to the problem and to forget that it doesn't matter even if they are right, because they are not the people who can solve it, they need to leave that up to those involved. This also happens when people meddle to solve nonexistent problems, where the people who get involved see a problem where there isn't one because of conflicting values (like parents pushing their child to get married and relentlessly introducing them to suitors because to them staying unmarried=sadness and dying lonely, they want to solve what they perceive as a problem even if it isn't one). This partly comes down to personality of the meddlesome people, as somebody who has this tendency and had to root it out I can attest to the instinct. And it comes down to society and family structure for who's allowed to care about what (in some cultures families as a whole are involved in the marriage of any of their members as opposed to western society where that is a private decision). As well as the dynamic of the relationship between the meddler and the person whose business is minded, like is there a history of the meddler taking care of the other person or are the boundaries between both unclear).

Very interesting :aww:. Since I’ve never been the most empathetic person I never would’ve gotten some of the points you made :meowpuffyblush:.

Same :blob_plusone:. Too tiring to emotionally invest into every drama you stumble upon.

The only scientific reason i know for this is that when we were cavemans, we depend on each other to survive, hench abnormality and none conformity is seen as blasphemous (cause it might disturbed whatever fragile order has been made, hence danger; you wouldn't drink a different looking milk).

But we are no longer caveman darn it!!

Another reason that might contribute to this is probably the fact that as we get older the neurons in our brain is less active, hence the less open minded we become (we have done this for years, we survived, why change?).

I enjoy a random conversation with a stranger, but I can't stand it when relatives poke their noses into my business, especially when they bug me about why I'm married with no kids.

I’ll be honest. It’s about 30% chance of me starting a conversation on a bus or train. The 70% of me is ok just relaxing. Not to offend anyone, but socializing takes too much effort sometimes. When I know any conversation will never get back to me unless by some miracle. Then that average rise to about a 50/50 chance. Depending on the person I’m speaking to.
So many things could go wrong. Person could pull a knife and threaten me to just ignoring me. You never know.
I hope most people are good, but you never know. It’s probably why most men don’t ask women out nowadays. It’s always possible to be accused of harassment or worse. And the guy could have just been a nice guy. Being polite. World is a strange place when prejudices run free

A lot of people in the previous generation grow without electeonics and such, so the juicest aspect of their life is just listening to other people and gossip about others. Also because of mob mentality and other societal normal that have been going on since the formation of society or whatever, but I can't be bothered to give a detailed explaination on this.
I also share your sentimentality or just thoughts, but people are just people. They want to feel themselfves superior or better, naturally. Like wanting to be on a morally high ground. Everything you do will be nitpicked to make others feel better about themselves if you are different. Be careful not to let these opinions go too public, lest you get isolated or even shunned.

If you are in a bad situation, in a perilious time, they will judge it and say things like "oh, how sad' without meaning to help you. I don't know. This motion is a malicious part of human nature

We live in a society....nah, jk. Some people have boring lives and want to spice it up by adding unnecessary drama into it.

At the end if the day, it's still your choice whether to care or not. Maybe it's because you do the same that's why you care so much? Sometimes, we just don't realize that. That we do the same thing that's why we get annoyed or scared because we know exactly how it's done and how much damage it can cause.
