May and Schumann are not bad guys. They truly cherish Ria. And about the age, I'm not sure.

I'm free this weekend so I'm braving the mtl, I'll drop little tidbits and summaries as I go through the chapters

Shu the tower master has an injury on his arm. Ria is worried that he picked up the same minor curse he got in the novel, which he got from buying a necklace at the festival. Turns out, it was an alchemy accident. But he did meet a rude lady at the festival who shoved him out of the way before he could buy the necklace. Ria puts 2 and 2 together and realizes Aina knows the future.

Next scene. Ria visits the temple to confront Aina. She's out on a mission. Ria teases Fabian about her friendship with Aina. Turns out, he was Aina's first love, but he lost his shot when he started treating her like untouchable glass. Ria finds out that Dil is cooperating with the temple to track down the D

Ria feels sorry for Fabian who is depressed that he's no longer friends with Aina. Ria tells him that Aina still cares for him and to go make up with her. Fabian runs off to meet Aina, who’s out tracking the darkness.

Back at home, Nate wonders when Ria will tell him she remembers her past life, impatient, he talks to her first. Ria tells him she's still sorting things out, but she's determined to kill the D, since the one who loved him was the og Saintess, not her. Ria finds out that she was Nate's first contractor, they were family and he waited for her all this time. She tells him she's glad they met again.

Next Scene. Ria is training her powers to confront the D. Dil is heading out. Ria's order for Dil's birthday arrives, so she's also heading out.

Ria goes to the jewelry store with Shu. She uses all the money she's saved up so far. Cute. They spot Dil going into another private room with a green haired woman. Shu tells Ria that it's the princess who has been pursuing Dil for 3 yrs. Sera confirms the rumors. Ria is anxious, since Dil claimed to be busy with work when he canceled their lunch plans. Shu casts invisibility magic on them and they sneak up to spy on Dil. Ria is too anxious and accidentally gets too close. Of course, she's caught. Dil slams her into the wall but immediately recognizes her by her scream. He's so worried about her bruised shoulder that he forgot she can heal herself. Ria relaxes when she sees how much he cares for her. Then the princess walks in.

Dil is immediately jealous when he notices that Ria is with Shu. Ria wants to know why he didn't tell her he was with the princess. Dil says he had no reason to tell her, meaning, it wasn't worth mentioning. Ria takes it to mean that it wasn't any of her business. She's mad. Shu has never seen her so mad. They decide to sit and talk it out. Dil explains that he has never betrayed Ria's trust. The princess says that she just dragged him along while she ran some personal errands. Ria thinks that if the rumors about the princess' love is true, the princess would be happy to bring Dil here with errands as an excuse. Ria explains how suspicious it is when her fiancee is seen choosing rings with another woman. Dil is ecstatic about Ria's jealousy. He accidentally lets a smile slip out. Ria gets mad and mentions a break up. Dil remembers that he tricked her into marriage using protecting her from the Temple as an excuse, but that's obviously unnecessary now, so Ria could actually end the engagement. Desperate, he tries coaxing her. The princess is thoroughly amused. Rias asks for some time alone, since she's not even sure why she's so mad.

Next scene. The princess calls Ria cute. Dil tells her to explain properly when Ria comes back, and threatens to expose her lover if she doesn't. Then he demands that Shu removes his ring, since it looks too similar to Ria's earrings lol

Dil scolds Shu for bringing Ria outside where she could be in danger. He says to request to visit her at the mansion instead, of course, he plans to deny all requests. Shu gets mad and asks him why he was really with the princess, since he doesn't believe the errands excuse. The princess reveals that Dil is here to buy an engagement ring for Ria, and she for her lover. Shu realizes that the princess used her "love" for Dil as a smoke screen to hide her lover. The princess says she prefers cute rabbit like people, like Ria. Dil says Ria is more like a squirrel. They start arguing about who has the cutest lover. Shu is not amused.

Next. Ria is washing her face in the bathroom. She also realizes that the engagement contract with Dil can be canceled anytime since she no longer needs protection from the Temple. She doesn't want to cancel it tho. In fact, the thought of anyone else standing next to Dil makes her mad. She realizes that at some point, her platonic love and care for Dil turned romantic. Or maybe it was always romantic? Still unsure, she exits the bathroom and walks into a robbery. She's not too worried, since Dil and Shu are right next door. The robbers find her necklace and realizes that she's the richest person here. Ria, who's traumatized from her time in the temple, doesn't like the greedy look in their eyes. She thinks about taking them on herself. The princess, Daisy, walks in. She tells Ria to hurry up, the duke is worried. She treats the robbers like air. They take offense and threaten her, but she has a fire self defense magic tool.

The robbers move to attack Daisy. Shu walks in complaining about a burnt meat smell. Dil says it's burnt human. Shu wonders how he knows that. They finally notice the robbery scene. When they see that Ria is the hostage, they spring into action. Naturally, it's a one sided beat down.

Next scene. Dil is savagely beating down the robbers, Ria is healing the hostages. Dil notices a scratch on Ria's neck and her missing necklace. He vows to torture the robber who did it. Dil scolds Ria for healing everyone except herself. Ria really didn't notice that she was injured. Dil wants to murder all of the robbers, Ria stops him because she doesn't want his ruthless reputation to get even worse. He's happy that she cares about him. Ria says he can monopolize her for a whole day as a reward for holding back. Dil negotiates how much skinship he's allowed that day. Dil says he's glad she's no longer talking about breaking up. Ria is embarrassed. Dil teases her on why she was so angry.

Ria tells Daisy to stay away from her man. Daisy is surprised she's brave enough to confront a princess. Daisy tells Ria that she has no interest in the duke, and she has a lover. Her lover is a commoner, so she teamed up with the duke to cover it up. It cost her a diamond mine. She says she wouldn't have asked him to accompany her today if she knew they were really in love and not faking the engagement. She wishes Ria good luck. Ria gets more and more embarrassed throughout the conversation.

Next scene. Daisy leaves. Shu leaves after fighting with Dil for a bit. Dil and Ria take a walk. Ria apologizes for misunderstanding. Dil apologizes for causing a misunderstanding. Dil says he's happy he got to see a jealous Ria. Ria denies being jealous. They flirt a bit, then Ria spots a child huckster. The child approaches and leads them to a stall. Ria follows fully expecting to get ripped off. But the prices were even more outrageous than she expected.

The child sells them a lukcy wooden ring and hints that Dil has a more fancy ring when Dil gets upset that it's on Ria's ring finger. While the kid and Dil have a stare down, Ria finds a pendant that glows with special power. The child gifts it to Dil, and Ria tells Dil to accept it cause it looks special. As they leave, the child wishes Ria luck on her mission. Ria is surprised. When she turns around, the kid and the stall are gone.

At home, Ria tells Nate about the encounter with the child. Then, unable to sleep, she takes a night walk to the greenhouse. While pulling weeds, Dil walks in. He holds her hair up so it doesn't get in her face. Ria is still worried about how to give him his birthday present. Dil notices the wooden ring still on Ria's finger and takes it off. He asks Ria if the finger looks a little empty. Ria says it does look a bit empty. Dil says good, then puts the engagement ring on her finger.

Ria is suprised. Dil tells her he ordered it when they got engaged but picked it up today. Ria is embarrassed that she was jealous of herself. She asks how he knew her ring size. He says it was the power of love. The more she looks at the ring, the more she likes it. She scolds her past self for telling Dil that a ring was unnecessary. She nervously puts the pair ring on Dil's hand. They both joke around and laugh. Dil is happy too. Seeing Dil smiling surrounded by flowers and moonlight, Ria realizes that it's the perfect time to give him his birthday gift. She asks Dil to stay still and runs to her room.

Next scene. Dil is sitting in the greenhouse staring at the ring. He originally bought it to chain Ria to him, but now that they were both wearing the rings, he's surprised by how happy he is. Ria comes back and gives him the present while wishing him a happy birthday. Dil is genuinely shocked. Ria shyly tells him that she's happy he was born. Dil is speechless and overwhelmed with emotions. No one has ever celebrated his birth, and once his parents died, his close subordinates just nodded in acknowledgement. Ria tells him she chose rubies to match his eyes. Seeing Ria's shy but expectant look, he covers his face. The urge to eat her was too strong. Ria misunderstands and thinks he hates the present. She tells him she'll exchange it for something else. He kisses her and tells her to take responsibility for making him so happy.

Ria is shocked and embarrassed, she scolds him for kissing her so suddenly. He says she needs to take responsibility, his heart is about to explode. Ria says kissing her will make it explode even faster. Dil says he's willing to risk it and approaches her. Ria backs up and covers her lips. Dil whispers in her ears. Ria flails around and calls him shameless. Dil says the kiss was therapeutic, look, the curse lightened up. Ria looks, and it really did recede a little. Dil, who was just making it up, is suprised. Dil, taking advantage, says that he always knew the curse could be broken by a kiss. Ria is seriously studying the curse, so Dil stops teasing her. He thanks her for the gift. Ria explains that she went to the jewelers in secret to suprise him with the gift. She doesn't want any misunderstandings. Dil says he'll give her an extravagant birthday next year.

They leave the greenhouse. Ria says she feels like they just exchanged gifts instead of her giving him a birthday gift. She says she'll give him a better one next year. She freezes, realizing that she basically confirmed that she'll still be with Dil next year. Dil notices and tells her he’s looking forward to it. Dil tells her he has to visit the duchy to celebrate his grandfather's birthday. Ria, who thought he had no more family, is shocked. Dil tells her his grandfather also wanted to see her, so she has to come with him. Ria is shocked x2. Now she has to prepare to meet her in laws.

The next day. The mansion is bustling. Ria is nervous. Dil proudly shows off his new cufflinks. Ria is happy that he's happy with her present. They take off by teleport and arrive at the duchy a short time later. Nate says that he loves being surrounded by nature, and that he and Ria should move here later. Dil says good, they can have their honeymoon here. Nate says actually, he prefers the sea. Dil says good, he was a villa by the sea. While they bicker, Ria feels nervous about meeting Dil's grandfather. They arrive at the duchy, and instead of the frail old man Ria was expecting, a muscular silver fox appears.

Dil's grandfather disapproves of Dil finding a fiance on his own and scolds him. Ria feels intimidated by his glare. Dil's uncle, Harris's father, walks out and calms his father. Turns out, the entire extended family, minus Lex of course, is here. Ria wonders if the old man is really as sickly as Dil said. Eventually, he invites them in. Dil comforts Ria, but she actually didn't feel that scared of his grandfather.

Next scene. Ria's room is next to Dil's. Dil hugs Ria and asks her if he should sleep with her. Ria says his intentions are impure, so nope. Dil says he never planned to just hold her hands and sleep, so he didn't lie. He hugs her tighter and whispers that the servants are monitoring them. Sure enough, Ria catches a maid's eye. The grandfather wants to find out if the engagement is fake. Ria would be imprisoned for deceiving nobility if it was. Ria wonders why Dil wouldn't be imprisoned too. Dil says it's cause he's a duke. Ria curses the hierarchical system. Dil says just don't get caught. When he leaves, Nate accuses Ria of getting closer to Dil when he wasn't looking. Ria denies it. Nate, a romfan fanatic, encourages Ria to charm the pants off the old duke. Ria's up for the challenge.

The vassals wonder why Dil finally decided to show his face after 3yrs. Lloyd, Harris's father, says that he brought his fiance. The women are shocked. Then they're 2x shocked when they find out that Ria is a commoner. They are curious to meet this prospective duchesss.

Next scene. There are 4 vassal families. Earl Brent of the west, Lexter, is absent. Dil gives Ria a basic lecture about the family. Ria asks Dil to protect her during the dinner and Dil promises to do so. When he leaves, Nate and Sera vow to make Ria the star of the dinner.

Next scene. Ria introduces herself to the family. Terse, the grandfather, just nods. Lloyd is friendly. Countess Bianca Greta of the east, is pleasant and admires Ria's calloused hands. Countess Giselle Justin of the south, clicks her tounge disapprovingly at a future duchess with calloused hands. Ria thought she wouldn't be able to taste the food through the tension, but it was surprisingly delicious. She tells Dil to take some and he does. The harmonious interaction between the two shocks all those present. Bianca laughs out loud and shouts in suprise that the engagement is real. Giselle scolds Ria's table manners and asks/demands to take over her etiquette lessons. Ria cringes and Dil tells Giselle to stop meddling with his fiance, and if etiquette is so important, please inform Bianca.

Bianca accepts the snide remark with grace. Giselle and Terse try to nag at Ria, but Dil shuts them all down. He even says, since everyone is criticizing my fiance's dining etiquette, we'll dine separately from now on. Ria, happy that she no longer has to have dinner with the entire family, is proud of Dil.

Dessert is served. Bianca asks Ria what she did for a living. Ria is a herbalist. Interested, Bianca suggests that Ria takes a look at Giselle's sick son. Giselle bristles at the thought of a commoner looking at her son. What can a commoner do that the best doctors in the kingdom couldn't? Dil gets angry with Giselle for insulting his fiance. She backs down eventually. Bianca asks Ria if she's interested in gardening. Dil boasts about Ria's skills, shocking everyone. The old duke finally takes an interest in Ria and invites her to the garden. Dil inserts himself into the invitation.

Next scene. Ria returns to the room and tells Nate and Sera all what happened during the meal. Sera explains Dante's, Giselle's son, circumstances. He has a chronic illness and will most likely die, so Giselle is very sensitive. Ria feels sorry for her, but she doesn't regret having Dil protect her, since Giselle would've never insulted her to her face like that if she was a noble. She decides to avoid all contact with Giselle for the rest of the week.

Next scene. Terse scolds Dil for embarrassing Giselle. Dil says she deserves it for embarrassing Ria. Plus, Giselle is a hypocrite, since it's an open secret that her son's real father is a commoner. She got pregnant and hurriedly married a noble to cover it up. Terse gets mad. Dil smirks at his grandfather's red face.

Dil remembers how he used to be scared of his scary muscular grandfather, but not anymore. Now he's strong enough to protect his precious one. Terse curses Lex for spreading false rumors about Dil losing his memories. No way this rude child has lost his memories and became docile. Terse tells Dil to focus on cleaning up Lex, he'll tell Giselle to back down. Dil says he'll leave Giselle alone if she leaves him alone. But inside he thinks, he bets every one of Nate's eyebrow feathers (lol) that Giselle won't back down.

Next scene. Giselle visits her sick son. She laments her inability to cure him. When she finally secured an appointment with Aaron (Ria can meet Aaron and visit the great temple any time she wants, but he's actually an important guy who's hard to meet), the boy was too sick to travel. A strange bird lands on the window sill. It's Lex. He brought medicine for Dante. Giselle was skeptical at first, but Dante's health really has been improving since he started taking the medication. Lex assures her that Dante only needs a few more doses before he is cured. Giselle holds on to the vial like it's a lifeline.

The next day. Ria wakes up at noon. Dil is out on an inspection and will be back by dinner. Ria is visibly upset, and Sera points it out. Ria says she feels like a child, cause lately her eyes always follow Dil around, and when he's not there, she wonders where he is and what he's doing. She feels like she's too dependent on him. Sera, excited, tells her that's not dependence, it's love! Nate, alarmed, tells her it's not love, it's dependence! While they argue, Ria is shocked. She examines her feelings towards Dil, and realizes that they were much deeper than she thought. She still tries to deny it, slamming her head into the dressing table. She decides to take a walk to clear her head.

Next scene. Summer is approaching. Sera gushes about when's the best time to get married. She tells Ria that being a spring bride suits her best, but a summer bride is good too. Ria blushes as she imagines a wedding by the sea, with Dil in a tuxedo. Embarrassed, she shakes her head. Sera teases her about who she wants to toss her bouquet to. Ria notices that Nate, who should be outraged by now, is silent.

Nate is cautious of something and wants to be treated like a regular pet for now. They arrive at the garden. It's as miserable as the one at the mansion in the capital. Turns out, the old duke is actually quite fond of gardening, but it seems he has a black thumb. They hear sounds of sniffling. It's coming from a small boy who looks like Giselle. Ria immediately connects the dots. Dante, who was about to run away in fright, greets Ria formally when he learns her identity. Ria tells the boy to speak informally with her. Dante was crying because he picked up a wounded bird. He tried to bring it to the infirmary but got lost. Dante feels guilty cause the bird is about to die. Ria can tell that the bird would've died even if he made it to the infirmary. Feeling sorry for the boy, Ria offers to heal the bird. Nate cautions her to not reveal too much in enemy territory, but even he feels sorry for the crying child. Ria heals the bird. Dante is ecstatic and asks if Ria is an angel. When she denies it, he insists that she must be special, since Dil wants to marry her. The group bursts into laughter. The laughter brings out a coughing fit in Dante. While Ria pats his back, Giselle bursts in.

She pulls Dante away from Ria and notices the blood (from the sparrow) on his hand. She asks Dante if he took his medicine. Dante hates the medicine, so he didn't eat it. Giselle ignores this and accuses Ria of approaching Dante for nefarious purposes. Dante defends Ria, but Giselle accuses Ria of brainwashing him. Giselle shoves Ria. Her grip on Dante's hand is too tight, and the child is obviously in pain. Frustrated, Ria shouts at Giselle to stop hurting Dante. Giselle finally realizes how tight her grip is and lets go. Dante runs and hides behind Ria. Dante shouts at his mother. He hates eating the medicine, but his mom always forces it on him. She's the one who hurt him, not Ria. Giselle seems shocked, but she soon glares at Ria and accuses her of seducing her son like she did the duke. Ria is a witch, just like Lex said. She raises her hand to strike Ria. Ria plans to take the blow, then run to Dil to complain and have Giselle punished (lol) Sera blocks Giselle's attack and whispers something in her ear. Incensed, Giselle grabs Dante and storms off. Sera takes out her dagger, ready to end Giselle at Ria's command, but Ria stops her. She didn't like Giselle's actions, but she understood that Giselle wanted to protect Dante in her own way. More importantly, she felt a strange energy from Dante when she held his hand.

Ria asks Sera to find out when Giselle leaves Dante's side so she can meet him again.

Next scene. Dil finally returns home. He meets Ria doing a cucumber facial in her room. Amused, he removes the cucumbers blocking her eyes and tells her about his day. Since he hasn't been down to the territory in 3yrs, his grandfather plans to work him to the bone. He complains about being tired and needing to spend private time with Ria to recharge. Ria says he looks fine tho. After her facial, Dil places a coat on Ria's shoulders. Dil heard about how much she missed him and wants to take a walk in the garden like he promised her. Sera, the informant, disappeared at some point. Dil teases Ria. He heard that she cried from loneliness. Of course, Ria denies it. She just thought about him a bit while in the garden. Dil, naturally, digs into the opening. He's happy that Ria thought about him as much as he thought about her. Ria backs away from Dil and ends up on the bed. Dil cages her in and promises to 'fill her up' all day tomorrow. Ria screams in shame, finally, she gives in to his demand for a walk in the garden.

Next scene. Dil complains about the poor state of the garden. Ria points out how sorry his own garden in the capital used to be. Dil says that was in the past, now everyone praises the greenhouse and compares it to Aaron's famous greenhouse. Ria is happy about the compliment, and is proud to have broaden Dil's horizons. Dil says, yes, his body can't live without Ria anymore. Ria tells him to rephrase that. Dil says that Ria is his world now. Ria curses. Dil laughs. Dil moves them deeper into the garden to avoid the servants' prying eyes. They reach a huge pond with koi. Excited, Ria sits on a rock close to the pond. Dil picks her up, afraid she would fall in and drown. Apparently, Lex almost drowned in the pond one summer. He places her on a safer rock. Ria soaks her feet and wonders how the pond will look in the summer. Dil examines Ria's face for injuries. He naturally heard about the incident with Giselle. Somehow, Ria finds herself defending Giselle. Dante's bloody hand made it look like he had coughed up blood. The situation was easily misunderstood. Ria doesn't want rumors about Dil being a monster to go wild again because of her. She plans to cure Dante, if Giselle still hated her after that, she wouldn't show her any mercy. According to Dil, Dante suddenly became ill 3yrs ago. It was so sudden that everyone thought it was a curse. Dil offers to set up a meeting with Dante, but Ria wants to accomplish this on her own. Dil admires Ria. He would've immediately used force to make the enemy submit, only the kind and gentle Ria would use this method to win over her enemy. He says he's falling in love all over again. Ria, feeling shy and conscious of their closeness, tries to scoot away. Dil, naturally, catches her.

    No probs.

Dil pulls Ria away from a gap she didn't notice between the rocks. She would've fallen in and drowned. She's thankful, but wonders why Dil's arms are still wrapped around her waist. Ria tries to squirm away. Dil asks her why she's avoiding him. When Ria claims to be hot, Dil points out the goosebumps on her arms (the Korean word for this translates to chicken flesh, needed the dictionary to figure that one out). Ria claims to always have goosebumps, Dil just didn't notice. Dil says he feels terrible for not noticing before and kisses her cheek in apology. Ria freezes and turns as red as a tomato. Dil, noticing her reaction is different than usual, asks her if she’s feeling shy. Ria vehemently denies it and runs away, forgetting her shoes. Dil thinks about the Cinderella fairy tale as he picks up the shoes and follows her.

Next scene. Bianca and Lloyd are in Terse's office. Terse and Bianca wonder what the couple are doing out in the garden. Bianca thinks Dil is hunting Ria. Lloyd points out that they are playing hide and seek. Bianca and Terse deny it, not only would Dil never do such a childish thing, who plays hide and seek while barefoot? Lloyd doesn't have an explanation for that. Maybe Ria wants to feel in touch with nature? She is a herbalist afterall. As the couple disappears out of sight, Terse thinks about the past. He has never seen Dil chase someone so happily. He asks if the engagement is real. Lloyd says that it obviously is. Terse agrees, at least on Dil's end, that boy is obviously in love. He does things Terse used to do when he courted his own wife. Terse is worried that Ria might be taking advantage of Dil. Bianca understands his worries, the family has a tendency to give their everything to the person they fall in love with. She offers to test Ria's sincerity. Terse gives her permission, and promises to shield her from Dil's wrath should he find out about it.

Next day. Bianca visits Ria. Sera is nervous for some reason, and Ria soon finds out why. Bianca wants to spar with Ria. In the gym, Bianca reintroduces herself to Ria as the vassal in charge of the military. She heard(saw) that Ria was running around in confusion last night and wants to make her feel welcome.

Bianca smirked as Ria's face darkened. Bianca asks for some of Ria's time. Ria reluctantly agrees.

Next scene. Ria is getting her ass kicked in the sparring session. Bianca, unable to hide her disappointment, tells Ria to take a break. Sera brings her some refreshments, and Nate brings her a towel. Bianca points out how clever Nate is. Sera carries Ria to a shady area. Ria asks Sera if this is a test and Sera confirms. Ria grumbles. Usually, a fiance would be tested on how well she can run a household, not how well she can hold a sword. Ria complains that she's about to die of exhaustion. Nate regrets not teaching her how to wield a sword. Ria says that knowing how to use a bow should've been good enough. She'd rather deal with Giselle. Sera offers to end the training on her behalf, but Ria doesn't want to give up so early.

Ria cures her exhaustion with divine power. Suddenly, screaming was heard, and a rampaging horse appeared in the field. Sera pulls Ria to safety. Ria notices that a rope is tied to the horse, and the end of the rope is hooked around a man's foot. He was being dragged around by the horse. He must've tried to stop the horse and gotten tangled up. At this rate, not only would his skin and bones be torn and broken, he might even be trampled to death by the horse. Ria, ignoring Sera's pleas, jumps into action. She aims a bow to cut the rope. As the rampaging horse draws close, Ria succeeds in cutting the rope and rushes to the nearly unconscious man. Fortunately, his wounds are only skin deep. Some servants carry the man to the infirmary, but the other servants are having trouble calming the horse. Someone aims a bow at the horse. Ria stops the man. She went through so much trouble to cut the rope to save both man and horse, she can't have them kill the horse now. Ria approaches the horse despite the servant's warning. Sera is extremely anxious. Dil will be extremely angry when he finds out how much danger Ria put herself in. Ria says it'll be fine, Dil will scold her, but he would never get genuinely mad at her. Ria calms the horse down with divine power. Sera wonders how this is possible. Ria reminds Sera about how she felt the last time Ria used divine power on her. Sera said she felt good, like she was receiving a massage. Divine power brings out feelings of relaxation. Ria talks with confidence, but she actually wasn't sure if it would also work on animals. Ria brings the now calm horse to the stable keeper. Suddenly, she hears someone yelling her name. Bianca rushes up to Ria and grabs both of her arms.

Bianca wants to know how Ria managed to hit such a small moving target in one shot, and how she calmed the horse. Ria laughed awkwardly .

Flashback. Bianca was disappointed in Ria's sword play, although she admired her will to not give up. She knew that Ria's callouses were the results of hard work, so Ria must use a different weapon. She grabs some weapons off the rack and returns to the sparing ground. She'd already forgotten about testing Ria out, she was preoccupied finding out Ria's true talent. When she arrived, she was suprised to find a rampaging horse. Then Ria, who looked like she was about to collapse just a few minutes ago, ran towards the horse, drew her bow, and cut the rope connecting the horse to the stable keeper. Everything happened in the blink of an eye. Most shockingly, the horse, which looked like it would never calm down, became docile as soon as Ria approached. Bianca couldn't believe her eyes. Ria didn't know how to explain what happened to Bianca, she says anyone can do it if they have good aim. Bianca is overjoyed and amused. Ria brushed it off, but not everyone can have good aim just because they want to have good aim. Bianca asks how long Ria has been using the bow. A little over a year. Bianca suppresses the urge to squeal. Ria is a genius! Bianca grabs Ria's hands in excitement and offers to change the sword training to target practice. Ria is taken aback. Bianca orders the servants to set up the feild for bow training. Bianca plans to play with Ria until the sun goes down. Ria looks at the sky, the sun will set in about 4 hrs. If she told Bianca how she calmed down the horse, would Bianca take off an hour? Bianca says she's not that curious about the horse, she's more curious about Ria's bow skills. Ria weeps inside.

Next scene. Dil came back. Ria sighs in relief, the training from hell can finally end. For the past 3hrs, Bianca truly tested Ria's skills. From target boards to strawberries, each time Ria hit a bullseye, the target got smaller and smaller and more complicated. Bianca regrets that they didn't get the chance to set up cherries. Ria pretends she didn't hear that and starts cleaning up. Bianca tells Ria to call her by her first name. Ria tells Bianca she can head in while she puts everything away. Bianca slaps Ria's shoulder and tells her she has a good heart. The duke picked the right woman. Dil walks in as soon as Ria finishes cleaning up. Ria rushes to Dil's side. Dil is suprised at the enthusiastic greeting. Ria urges him to go back to the room. She wants to escape from Bianca as soon as possible. Dil asks if she missed him so much that she wants to sleep with him right away?? Despite the misleading wording, Ria desperately nods her head. Dil smiles and cleans the dust off Ria's face. Dil comments on Bianca's harsh treatment. Ria says she wasn't treated badly, the training was just too hard. Ria grabs Dil's hand and begs him to not go out tomorrow. Dil agrees, where would he go when Ria is so anxious? Overjoyed, Ria hugs him tightly and asks him if he could stay the day after that, the day after that, and every day after. Dil is silent. When Ria looks up. Dil covers his mouth and mutters, leaving Ria in Bianca's hands from time to time wouldn't be so bad. Ria threatens to end the engagement and Dil repents. As Ria pulls away, Dil pulls her back into his embrace. Wasn't Ria pretending to be lovey-dovey so Bianca would believe her lonely wife act? Ria, who doesn't want to admit that she hugged Dil out of joy, embraces Dil once again. Dil offers to kiss her next time, to make the act more convincing, but Ria declines. While they cuddle, Ria tells Dil about her day. Telling him about her day and having him listen attentively somehow makes Ria's heart itch.

That night. Bianca was called to Terse's office. The other vassals were already there. Bianca almost immediately starts gushing about Ria, even Lloyd and Terse were embarrassed by her fangirling. Giselle accuses Bianca of bowing her head to a youngster, but Bianca dismisses her, who cares about her age when Ria is a genius! Giselle is even more convinced that Ria is a witch. First, she turned Dil, then Dante and now Bianca to her side. Giselle complains that the future duchess should be elegant and cultured like the princess. She would never accept Ria as her superior. Bianca asks Giselle if she still plans to oppose the marriage. Giselle says yes. Bianca, surprisingly, isn't angry. If Dil dumps Ria, she'll just make her her daughter in law. The room is silent for a moment. Giselle is disgusted. Bianca must've really gone mad.

I started this with the intent to write short 1 paragraph summaries as I read, but I'm basically translating these chapters at this point :blobsweat:It takes about 30mins-1hr to finish a chapter, with the odd 2hr one here and there. Reading is so much easier lol But I started this even though I know I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, so it's my fault

The regular members of this site already know I lack self control:blobwob:I spent the last hour scrolling through the next chapters just because I wanted to see her getting the grandpa's blessing...
At first, grandfather was suspicious of the relationship, but he can see that Dil really loves her.He doesn't think Ria is a bad person too.He calls her and tells that even though he knows all that, they cannot be together because Dil already has a destined person.
The temple received a profechy that someday he would met a girl that could break the curse(lol)and they would be destined to each other.
So the grandpa want her to break up with him because he should be with her:blob_blush:she can't tell that she is the one to grandpa because she didn't told to dil yet.(And dil doesn't know about the profecy)
A few days later, grandpa discovers that she is the girl of rhe profecy and he is so happy,he congratulates and hugs her.::bloblove::He wants them to marry soon, the next day even and tells Dil to treat her well because she is a precious person.
There's also that thing with the darkness and it kidnapped Dante.Dil and Ria save him, defeat the darkness,Dil curse is gone, the boy is healthy and the mother is grateful.

Giselle leaves in a huff. Lloyd tells Terse that since Bianca likes Ria, she must be a good person. And they might as well support the marriage, since Dil wouldn't listen to them even if they opposed. Terse is still reluctant to accept the marriage for some reason. Lloyd drags Bianca, who now wants to oppose the marriage so she can make Ria her own, out. Terse notices the Ria is out for a night walk again, but without Dil this time. He gets up from his sit.

Next scene. Terse follows Ria into the garden intending to confront her. However, seeing Ria pick up trampled on flowers, showing her deep respect for even the smallest of lifeforms, he didn't have the heart to interrupt. He inadvertently ends up stalking her through the garden. Ria suddenly stops, and Terse unconsciously hides behind a tree. Ria calls out to the person hiding to come out. There was no use hiding behind a tree, since their broad shoulders stood out. Terse is too embarrassed to step out, he doesn't want to be labled as a pervert muscle grandpa. Ria approaches the tree and calls out to Dil, then screams in alarm when she sees Terse. Ria apologizes for mistaking Terse for Dil, and Terse apologizes for startling her. Terse wonders at how comfortable Ria seems to be with Dil, enough to joke around with him. He had never seen someone play with his grandson before. Ria feels awkward. Dil was supposed to meet her in the garden, but she ended up running into the final boss instead. Ria can tell that Terse disapproves of her, even though he doesn't openly disparage her. Terse asks to speak with Ria, and Ria reluctantly agrees.

Naturally, Terse wants to know if the engagement with Dil is real. Ria answers unconvincingly. Terse notices her hesitation and points it out. Ria acknowledges inside that the weight of her and Dil's emotions were different. Terse says that Dil's love for Ria is obvious. He thinks of the genuine smile he sees on his grandson's face for the first time. And how, when they went out on inspection, Dil pointed out some unique flowers and planned to bring Ria to see them. When Terse told Dil to just pick some and bring them to her, Dil says that Ria hates pointlessly picking flowers. Terse had no choice but to admit that Dil loved Ria with all his heart. So since Dil would never end the engagement on his end, Terse wants Ria to end it. Unlike the melodramatic bribing and bullying scenes Nate imagined, Terse just calmly persuaded Ria to break up with Dil. Ria is not happy. She didn't want to break up with Dil. She was the only one who could end his curse. Ria wants to know why she can't marry Dil. Is it because he loves her more? Because she's a commoner? Terse says it's not because of those things. Ria is confused. Terse sighs and tells Ria the truth. Dil has a soul mate. Ria thinks he's taking about the princess, but Terse says that he knows it was just a contract between Dil and the princess. Ria can tell from Terse's expressions when talking about Dil that he really loves him. Terse readily admits that he loves Dil. His greatest regret is not taking him away from his parents. But it's because he loves Dil so much that he needs Ria to break up with him. An oracle came down the day Dil was born, the woman who would break his curse would soon appear (lol) Terse warns Ria to break up with Dil now, before fate causes them to break up. Ria is thoroughly stumped. But she's the woman from the oracle....

Ria doesn't know what to say. Terse says that Dil doesn't know about the oracle, if he found out, he would certainly rampage against the temple for meddling in his life. Ria thinks that Dil of the past would be furious, but the current Dil would embrace the oracle with open arms. In fact, he would be so delighted that he would hold the wedding ceremony right away. That's why she didn't reveal the oracle when she heard about it from Aaron. She wanted to make it clear that it was her will to break the curse, not God's. She didn't want others to misunderstand that she was moving according to the oracle. Terse doesn't plan to tell Dil about the oracle either. He urges Ria to break up with Dil for her own sake, and for Dil's future. He gives her a month to think about it.

Next scene. After Terse leaves, Ria is flabbergasted. All this time she was worried about meeting the qualifications to become Dil's bride, but she had the most important qualification all along. Isn't this just giving her a free ride? If she had told Terse right away, he would've given her his full support, but she didn't want to tell Terse something even Dil didn't know. She would be the one to tell Dil. Dil arrives and sits next to Ria. He remarks on how she went into the deepest part of the garden. Ria stares at Dil's handsome face. She can't believe how deep her feelings became without her noticing. Can she still get out, she asks. Dil answers as if he knew what she was talking about. Do you have to leave? Just walk with me. What if Ria has to walk this path alone? Dil says, he'll pave the way and wait for her at the end of the path. It'll be less lonely. Dil holds his hand out to Ria. He will wait for Ria to reach the finish line. Ria says that it might take a long time. Dil says, as long as she gets there before he dies, he'll wait patiently. Ria laughs at the absurdity. Dil says, even if Ria tries to change paths, she'll end up right back to this one. He knows this because he also couldn't choose his path, before he realized it, he was already there. Ria stares at Dil's smiling face. He's right she says. She didn't choose to have these feelings. She grabs his hand. Even after going around in circles, in the end, this was the only path. She was already in love :aww:

Next scene. Aina stares at the setting sun. They were finally closing in on the darkness. While the rest of the men set up camp, Aina goes to fill the water bottles. Hearing footsteps, she looks up. Fabian had followed her. Fabian tells her that he was worried when Aina suddenly disappeared. Aina is annoyed by his overprotectiveness. Fabian says that he was only worried because night is falling soon. He would've searched for Harris too if he disappeared just before dark. Aina laughs. Fabian is feeling pretty good. Because of Ria's advice, he joined up with the expedition and started speaking with Aina face to face again. There was hope for their friendship to be restored. As they made their way back to camp, Fabian asks about Ria's wellbeing. Aina is immediately put on alert, Fabian wasn't allowed to worry about Ria. Fabian sighs, it seems that their friendship still had a ways to go. He had to ask Ria for more advice when he got back. Harris calls Aina and Fabian to a crystal ball. The darkness hasn't moved from Arest's territory for 3 days, this was most likely its base. Arest was the last divine beast, but he was the most detached from the world. He didn't like humans and he never leaves his territory. He didn't even join up with the other divine beasts to greet Ria. His territory also happend to have the largest black market in the empire. It was the perfect place for the darkness to hide and build its strength. They needed to hurry.

The world didn't drastically change just because Ria admited she loved Dil. The changes were more subtle; Dil's face looked more handsome, his eyes looked more friendly, and his touch felt warmer. That was it. Dil smiles as he touches Ria's engagement ring. He's happy that she remembered to put it back on after taking it off for training. Ria wonders what thoughts were running through Dil's mind when he gave her the ring. Ria says that he gave it to her, so of course she would remember. Dil says it was worth the hard work getting it, he never thought he would hear Ria say such words. Seeing the smile that never left his face, Ria realizes that she should confess to him. But can she do it while looking so scruffy? While Ria tried to rearrange her clothes, Dil asks her who she was with before he arrived. Dil eyes the seat suspiciously. Afraid that he would misunderstand, Ria explains that it was Terse. Ria retells the conversation she had with Terse, minus the oracle talk. Dil's face darkens, he tells her to ignore that nonsense. Ria says that she can't ignore it. Dil asks her if she wants to break up with him just because of his grandfather. If she said yes, Dil would definitely explode. Ria squeezes his hand. No way. She was going to make Terse acknowledge her. Dil is confused. Ria refuses to back down, just like Nate said, she would face Terse head on and defeat him. Then she'll win her place by Dil's side. As for the method...did Terse like sparring?

Dil says, can't she tell just by looking at his muscles. Remembering Terse's poor abused shirt, Ria nodded. Then, did Terse have a competitive spirit? The whole family is like that, Dil says. They'll acknowledge anyone who can defeat them. Good, then she would defeat Terse in combat and be recognized as Ria Delis, no just as the child of destiny. Burning with determination, Ria urges Dil not to respond when Terse asks him to break up with her. Dil is speechless, he didn't know Ria liked him so much. Of course I like you, Ria says. Ria expects Dil to rush in after hearing that, but surprisingly, he just covered his mouth and blushed. Cute. Not expecting that reaction, Ria also turned red. She changes the subject, why was Dil so late to their meeting?

Dil was late because he got a report. Lexter and the 3rd prince were heading to the Arest territory. The temple's expedition was also heading south. If the temple and Dil's forces joined up, they would definitely be able to defeat the darkness. Dil says that he plans to head to the Arest territory as soon as the birthday banquet is over, but Ria should remain here. Ria naturally disagrees, she needed to defeat the darkness, how could she stay behind? With Ria's strong persuasion, Dil agrees to take her. If they use a teleport portal directly after the banquet, they would arrive at around the same time as the other groups.

The next morning. Ria is in a very good mood as she has breakfast with Dil. As long as Dil is here, she can escape Bianca's hellish training. Speak of the devil, Bianca interrupts their meal. She pats Ria's back as she bursts into a coughing fit, and even slices her steak for her. Ria is horrified. She shoots Dil an sos signal. Fortunately, he receives it. Dil tells Bianca not to interrupt his meal with Ria. Bianca apologizes, she just wanted to have fun with Ria. Ria winces. Bianca asks Dil if he was willing to take Ria's place. Dil actually agrees. Bianca is shocked, she was humiliated 10yrs ago and wanted a rematch ever since but never got it. Bianca apologizes to Ria and asks to postpone the sparring. Ria enthusiastically accepts her apology. Bianca takes off to prepare for the sparring session. Ria feels sorry for Dil having to take her place. Dil says it's fine, it's just a little work out. Ria says that she heard that Bianca was pretty strong. Dil frowns at that.

Dil claims to be stronger than Bianca. Ria says that she believes he will win. Dil suddenly changes his tone and says that the fight will be tough, so he needs some motivation. What sort of motivation? As expected, a victory kiss. Or holding hands all day. Anything else? Dil begins to list his demands. Either way, the reward would create a romantic atmosphere. Wouldn't that be the best time to confess? Ria wishes Dil good luck.

Next scene. The knights of the duchy are excited about the rare sparring session between their lord and his sword. Ria sits among the gathered crowd. Nate wonders why Dil would do something so troublesome. Ria explains that Dil took her place in the fight in exchange for a wish. Nate isn't supprised that Dil managed to bargain a wish out of Ria. The sword fight starts and the entire crowd is mesmerized. Ria is the only one that notices a small hooded figure sneak into the training grounds. Ria approaches the figure, of course, it's Dante. Dante is startled to see Ria and pulls her to the side. He's hiding from his mother. He's very excited to see the fight, but he plans to head back before his mother catches him. Ria asks Dante how he's doing, but doesn't believe him when he says he's fine. Dante says he's really fine and flexes. Ria admires his muscles, but Dante says she doesn't have to flatter him, he knows a true muscle man looks like his grandfather Terse. Ria asks Dante about his symptoms. Headaches, coughs, and fevers, with nosebleeds and vomiting to round it all up. After a few days of heavy symptoms, he'll be fine to move around for a few days. Ria offers to take a look at him.

Dante is immediately intrigued. He'd seen how easily Ria healed the sparrow. Still, he's not very hopeful. Countless doctors and priests had already failed to cure him. Ria assures him that she has never failed so far, she'd even saved Dil's life a few times. Dante is shocked that the smaller Ria could save Dil's life. Ria says that that's one of the reasons why Dil wants to marry her. Dante is immediately convinced and lets Ria diagnose him. Ria frowns as she holds Dante's hand. The strange feeling she felt before had returned. She couldn't feel any life force from him, although he was obviously alive. It's like something was blocking it. As she tries to dig deeper into this unprecedented phenomenon, Terse interrupts them. Dante happily runs up to Terse. Terse warns Dante that his mother would be worried if she found him out here, but Dante begs Terse to keep it a secret. Terse gives in and hugs Dante. It looked like a scene that had repeated numerous times. Ria is suprised to see Terse's slight smile, it was the first time she saw something that reminded her of Dil in Terse. Terse tells Dante to go watch the fight, he'll stop Giselle form scolding him later. Dante excitedly runs off. After Dante left, Terse turned his attention to Ria. Has she made up her mind? Ria confidently says that she would not break up with Dil. Terse warns that her choice is a foolish one. Ria understands, how can a commoner like her hope to stand up to this family? But Ria says she can't leave Dil's side, since she made a promise to him. A promise to not leave him until he recovered his memories and she broke his curse (forgot that Ria thinks Dil still has amnesia). Ria tells Terse to just give up and accept her instead. Terse, amused by this absurd suggestion, bursts into laughter.

Ria says that she has a very good card, but she won't reveal it cause it'll be too easy. She wants Terse to accept her fairly. Terse admires her confidence, but in the end, his grandson's life is at stake. Ria expected that, so she offers Terse a bet. If he beats her in an archery contest, she'll leave Dil. If she wins, Terse will stop writing her off and take a sincere look at her as a person. Terse thought she would ask to stay with Dil if she wins, but Ria thinks, Dil is already hers win or lose this bet, so it doesn't make sense to play for him. Terse tells Ria she looks confident. Ria says that she is. She's very confident that she won't lose to others with the bow. Terse's competitive spirit is ignited. He throws her a curve ball, they won't be competing in the arena, they'll be hunting in the forest. Ria hesitantly agrees. Dil's fight is over. He blocks Terse's sight on Ria and demands to know what nonsense Terse is telling Ria again. Surprisingly, both Terse and Ria tell him it's something between them and to not interfere. Terse and Ria agree to meet in the hall in 10mins and leave to prepare. Dil stares at Ria's back with an odd expression.

Next scene. Dil laughs when he sees Ria in her hunting outfit. Dil asks why she chose hunting, Ria says it just happened that way. Dil asks what did they bet. Terse walks in dressed similar to Ria. He answers Dil's question. They bet that Ria would leave Dil if he won, so say goodbye now. Dil is upset by his confidence. Ria calms him down and reminds him how skilled she is. Dil boasts about Ria's bow skills as he hugs her shoulder. Ria hugs Dil's waist as she confirms that she's very good with the bow, she even fed Dil with her hunting skills. Terse wonders why she had to feed Dil at all, how did they meet? Dil immediately answers that it was destiny. Terse's eyes widen a little at that. The game is going to start, whoever hunts more in 30mins wins. Dil is referee, but he's obviously planning to stick to Ria. They tell him to wait here, but Dil doesn't want to. Terse, who can see the jealousy in his eyes, tells him that he won't steal his fiance away. Ria, who didn't even consider that possibility, is repulsed that Terse would suddenly bring it up. Terse tries to explain that Dil is the one worried about it, but Ria obviously doesn't believe him. Terse, who failed to clear up the misunderstanding, is embarrassed.

Next scene. Ria is in trouble. Time is ticking down and the only animal she has come across so far is a rabbit. Not even a single sparrow showed up. But Terse told her that the forest was teeming with animals. Terse walks up to her carrying a deer. Ria wonders where he found a deer. She suspects that since this is his forest, he obviously knew best how to find animals. Ria gets mad at Terse's smirk and declares that she will follow him. Terse asks her, wasn't she just avoiding him? Now she wants to follow him? Ria shouts that she's going to hunt a bear. Terse laughs and says that bears don't inhabit this region. Ria says she'll catch a deer as big as a deer. Terse, who's crying from laughter, pats her on the back and tells her that he'll let them marry right away if she catches a bear. Ria grumbles at him. Even she knew that this wasn't bear territory. Ria separates from Terse in frustration. She decides, if she loses, she and Dil would flee in the middle of the night. Ria comes across a deer. As she stalks it, she hears a wolf's cry. Wolves weren't supposed to show up, this meant that she went too deep into the forest. Suddenly, she hears Terse cry out. She runs towards him and comes across an amazing scene. Terse was wrestling a wolf bare handed. Ria is frozen in shock. Ria catches sight of another wolf rushing up behind Terse. She takes aim and kills it. Terse, still strangling the first wolf, tells her that he thought she would run away when she heard wolves, so he's supprised to see her here. Terse breaks the wolf's neck. Ria looks away and glares at the other wolves. There were quite a few of them lurking, she planned to hunt them all and win the bet. Terse also dares the wolves to come and get him. Now this was finally a hunt. The wolves observed the two, then decided to retreat. Ria and Terse were disappointed. Terse even mocked them for being cowardly. Ria asks Terse why there were wolves here when only small animals were supposed to appear. Terse says that they come down to hunt occasionally, usually when food is scarce, like in the winter. It was spring, so he didn't expect to see them. They decide to retreat too, since something even more dangerous might show up. As soon as Terse said this, they felt the ground shake. It was a bear. Ria and Terse are bewildered. Why did a bear that wasn't supposed to be here suddenly show up? The bear roars at them.

The bear glares at them, clearly seeing them as prey. Ria finds out that Terse's bow is broken and he has no back up weapon. Not wanting him to fight a bear bare handed, she urges him to run back to meet up with Dil. Terse points out that they could never outrun a bear. Besides, when he was younger, he caught a tiger bare handed. He comforts the nervous Ria. Ria thinks, but you're old now! Terse tells Ria to go get Dil as he jumps at the bear. Ria can't leave Terse to fight a bear alone. Cursing the excessively competitive spirit of this family, she aims at the bear's vital spots. But the bear's pelt is too thick, the arrows made for rabbits and birds won't penetrate. Only 2 arrows left. The bear's claw grazes Terse's shoulder. Terse stabbed a tree branch he'd picked up into the bear's eye. As the bear staggered in pain, Ria jumps in between the bear and Terse. Terse screams at her to run away, but Ria, who somehow felt calmer when the bear's focus was on her, reminded him about his promise to let her and Dil get married if she killed a bear. She activated the magic bow hidden on her wrist, and fills it with divine power to create a strong, sharp arrow. She shots the arrow straight into the charging bear's neck. She lets out a breath as the bear collapses. She turns to Terse, smiles, and says, you must keep your promise.

Next scene. Ria treats Terse's shoulder with divine power. Terse is amazed that Ria knew how to use divine power. Didn't she know that Dil had severe divine power resistance? She knew, but they still got along. Terse, who doesn't know that Dil can accept Ria's divine power, feels that Dil and Ria loved each other so much, they were willing to put up with the natural repulsion. Ria gives him the bear as a birthday present. Dil, who heard the commotion, finally caught up. He hugs Ria and searches her face and body for any injuries, there was a wolf and bear carcass on the ground, he couldn't help but worry. Ria said she was fine, by her grandfather is injured. Terse chokes at the new change in title. Ria tells him to get used to it, they're family now. Dil is proud of Ria and kisses her on the forehead. Both Ria and Terse baulk at the public display of affection. Dil hugs Ria and smiles triumphantly at Terse. See, he should've accepted Ria right away instead of going through all this trouble. Terse shakes his head and ends the hunt.

Next scene. Ria is excited to return to the mansion and brag to Nate about her accomplishments. However, the mansion that was bustling when they left is suddenly quiet. Lloyd whispers something to Terse. Apparently some unexpected guests are here. Ria senses the serious atmosphere and returns to her room. Dil, who was following her, is stopped by Terse. Lexter is here. Dil and Ria are suprised by this. They didn't know Lex would have the guts to appear here. Dil still wants to escort Ria to the room, but Terse warns that this matter is important. Ria pushes Dil away. Don't worry, she'll return to the room right away, Dil needed to go to work. She liked working men. Dil reluctantly leaves her to go greet the guests. Ria is unnerved by the empty hallways. She decides to not leave the room until Dil comes to pick her up. As she reaches for the doorknob, someone grabs her shoulder. Ria turns around in shock. The man had the same face of her past lover who sacrificed himself to seal the darkness. The guy seemed happy to finally meet Ria. Ria stares at his face and finally notices that his eyes were purple, when her lover's eyes were red. At that, she starts noticing other differences and begins to calm down. It's different, she says. Hearing her firm comment, the friendly smile on the guy's face disappeared.

The man's friendly smile was back, but the cold, unfamiliar expression Ria saw briefly was etched into her mind. The man pretends to be confused by Ria's denial and insists that he is Ria's reborn lover. Ria doesn't believe him. The man approaches Ria and she backs away. The man appears hurt by her actions. The mans asks Ria if her memories haven't returned yet. He'd promised to return to her on a snowy day like they'd first met, but he was late, sorry. Ria wonders how the man could know her lover's last words, but she still couldn't accept that he was truly her lover. The man grabs Ria's hand while she was distracted. Ria is startled by the unexpected warmth in the contact. But the man was gripping Ria's engagement ring with such force, like he wanted to break it. The man tells Ria to come with him as he slowly slides the ring off her finger. Suprised, Ria clenches her fist to stop him from stealing her ring. She tells him that she won't follow him. Dil needed her, she had to protect him. The man brings up their promise to love each other when they meet again. Ria says that it wasn't her that made that promise. The man seems so genuinely hurt by this that Ria almost feels like she's making a mistake. The man tells Ria that they're destined to be together, but Ria only thinks of Dil when she hears the word destiny. Ria says that she doesn't believe in fate and pulls her hand away. The man reaches for Ria again, but this time, Dil catches his hand. Dil's red eyes were burning in fury as he tells the man to stay away from his woman.

Next scene. Dil says that the third prince can't pretend that he didn't know who Ria was after seeing her ring. Ria finaly realizes that the purple eyed man was the third prince, Manus. Ria finds it hard to accept that the annoying villain in the novel that always threatened Aina and Cassis had the same face as her dream lover. Dil's broad back suddenly blocked her view. Dil warns Manus to stop staring at Ria. He couldn't not recognize what sort of eyes Manus was staring at Ria with. It infuriated him so much that he would've killed Manus on the spot if Ria wasn't behind him. Ria tries to calm Dil down. Ria feels anxious at the sharp exchange of words between Dil and the third prince. The atmosphere felt like it would explode at any minute, but she didn't know how to stop it. Suddenly, Terse appears and shouts at Dil to stop it. Ria runs to Terse and clings to him, begging him to stop the two. Seeing Ria's urgent expression, Terse shoves himself in between the two men. Lex, who was leisurely following behind Terse, greets Ria as the future duchess. Ria says that she's suprised to see him here, meaning, she thought he would stay in hiding licking his wounds. Lex's eyebrows twitched, but he was very skilled at hiding his feelings. Lex approaches Manus and tells him to come with him. Manus retreats but leaves behind a snide comment with Dil. Ria and him were destined to be together, so there was no use trying to stop it. Terse restrains the enraged Dil and tells Ria to go rest before dragging Dil into the office.

Terse yells at Dil. Dil should know better than anyone how much trouble killing a member of the imperial family would cause. Dil tells Terse to be glad that he didn't kill Manus on the spot. Terse slumps into his chair and groans. He wonders what nonsense Lex is planning. Bringing a prince here without warning was outrageous. Terse had accepted Lex into the family despite him being an illegitimate child, but Lex was always dissatisfied. Although it was fine for Lex to personally support a prince, bringing Manus to the birthday banquet of the most respected elder of the family held different implications. If they make a mistake, it would look to the outside world like they were supporting the 3rd prince. Terse, who secretly supported the crown prince, would be troubled. Terse tells Dil to stay calm until the banquet is over, but Dil says he won't be able to stay still if Manus approaches Ria again. Terse understands Dil's rage, who would be able to stay calm if another man flirts with their fiance in front of them? Terse tells Dil that they'll monitor the 3rd prince and attach guards to Ria. He was already starting to accept Ria into the family. Besides, openly pursuing their future duchess in their own mansion, the 3rd prince had really showed his disregard for their family. Dil plans to invite the crown prince to the banquet and officially announce his support for him. Then no one would complain if he killed the opponent of the future emperor.

Ria returns to the room thoroughly confused. She slumps on the bed and asks Nate questions about fate and reincarnations. Nate says that he believes in all of those things, otherwise he and her wouldn't have met again. Ria wonders if the 3rd prince could possibly be the reincarnation of her lover. But then again, her lover became abandoned by god when he used himself to seal the darkness. God was kind but ruthless. He didn't destroy her lover's soul cause she begged him not to, but the only way she can recover the soul is if she passed the test and waited a 1000 years. There's no way her lover could just show up, but Ria can't help but be conflicted. Manus looked too much like her lover, he knew about the promise, and his hurt expression seemed genuine. Plus, her lover promised that even hell couldn't contain him, he would crawl his way up to be with her again.

But even with all of this, Ria couldn't accept that the 3rd prince was her lover. If her lover was truly reborn, he would be Dil. Ria lets out a deep sigh and Nate comforts her. He reminded her that all of this was a test. He couldn't help her too much, since she had to be the one to overcome it, but she shouldn't let herself be swayed by the outside circumstances. Whatever path she chose is the right one.

Next scene. Late at night, Ria sits by the pond she visited with Dil last time. Dil came to visit her in her room, but she avoided him. Although she knew that the 3rd prince's identity didn't matter, she didn't have the confidence to face Dil. She was afraid that he would look at her differently. She sighs aloud and says that she will definitely be scolded later. Dil says that she shouldn't have avoided him then. Shocked by the sudden voice, Ria nearly tumbles into the pond, but Dil catches her. They stare into each other's eyes for a bit. Carried away by the atmosphere, Ria reveals that she's the reincarnation of the first saint. Dil doesn't seem suprised, her divine power was just that powerful. Ria asks him if he knows why she was reincarnated, and he, of course, says that it was to meet him. Dil is suprised when Ria actually agrees with him. Ria tells him about the oracle passed down on the day he was born. Ria reveals the contents of her dream, the diary, and her mission to break Dil's curse and destroy the darkness once and for all. Dil realizes that that's why only Ria's powers are able to reach him. But if Ria is the first saint, what is he?

He's most likely a descendant of her past lover. As for her past lover supposedly trapped in hell, he might have been reborn as the 3rd prince. Dil guesses this and Ria has no choice but to admit it. Ria looks away, but Dil gently forces her to look at him. He's confused by why she's so sure. Manus remembered a promise that only she and her lover should know. Not even Nate knew about it. Dil covers his face and lets out a guttural sigh, followed by a dejected laugh. Ria tries to assure him that he was the owner of the oracle, but Dil is obviously angry. Ria feels helpless. Dil suddenly stands up with a smile that didn't reach his eyes. If Manus' existence is confusing Ria, he just had to kill him. Ria is alarmed, killing a member of the imperial family could start a war. Dil misunderstands why Ria wants to stop him. He thinks she can't bear to part with her former lover. His expression is distorted by a cocktail of bitter emotions. Dil kneels besides Ria. He admits that Manus might be Ria's destiny. Ria denies this, but Dil is too far gone to hear her. Dil looks Ria in the eyes and smiles. He'll keep her by his side, even if he had to kill Manus. He cups her face and declares, since the beginning, her place has always been by his side.

Dil asks Ria if she's scared of him now and wants to run away. Ria is suprised by Dil's obsession. The previous obsession he'd shown paled in comparison to this. Dil is slightly disappointed at Ria's lack of response. Still, he would remove all fate and obstacles that stood in their way. Dil stands up, and Ria pulls him. They both fall into the pond. Ria screams at Dil. She never said that guy was her destiny, so why did Dil think she would leave him? Even if he is her destiny, she refused to be ruled by stuff like that. Ria is so angry that she starts to cry. The one she loved was obviously Dil, why would he say such mean things. Ria is upset that this was the way she had to confess. All her plans to sweep Dil off his feet were ruined. She glares at Dil and tells him to go ahead and kill Manus if he wants to so much, she didn't care about that man. She was just worried about the consequences for Dil, Dil is the one who misunderstood all by himself.

Ria turns around in a huff. She didn’t even want to see Dil's handsome face. Dil embraces her from behind and asks her to repeat her confession. Ria is too angry to comply, so Dil apologizes to her. He will spend his whole life repenting for hurting her feelings, so could she please repeat the confession. Ria calms down under his seduction, still she doesn't want to say it again. Dil tries to coax her. Ria stares at his lips and kisses him instead of putting it into words. Dil is frozen in suprise. Ria tries to escape in the gap but Dil drags her back. He closes the distance between them and asks her why she kissed him. Ria grumbles that he knows why. Dil says that he doesn't know, but maybe a few more kisses might enlighten him. Ria's protests were soon swallowed up by his lips.

Next scene. Dil tries to hold back his desires so he doesn't scare Ria away. Still, her reactions nearly broke him. He devours her lips. Ria struggles to breathe, but Dil calms her down and tells her to breathe through her nose. Ria tries to keep up with Dil, but Dil overwhelms her. Knowing that Ria returned his feelings drove him crazy. Ria eventually surrenders and turns her head away. She wonders if someone had ever died from kissing. Dil kisses Ria's palm and Ria begs him to stop. Dil says that she still hasn't told him why she kissed him. Ria gives in and tells him that she kissed him because she loved him. Ria's face was as red as a tomato. Dil asks if she really loved him. Ria says, of course, why else would she challenge his grandfather. Dil laughs, he mistakenly thought she was just being competitive, but she's the type to forge ahead after making a decision, so it made sense. Dil asks if it was really because of him, and Ria confirms. Dil lets out a heavenly smile. He loved Ria too. Ria blushes and says that she knows. He loved her so much that he wanted to kill a prince out of jealousy. Dil offers to make her the empress and Ria vehemently refuses. Dil kisses her as if to calm her down.

Ria stops him after a few kisses. Her lips were going to swell up at this rate, although it might be too late. Suddenly, Dil bites her on the neck. He wanted to leave a mark on her. If the 3rd prince shows his face again, he would gladly reveal the mark. Dil smirked in satisfaction, then noticed that Ria was staring at him. Why? She wanted to leave a mark too. Dil's heart skipped a beat at Ria's unexpected aggression. Ria, thinking that he was rejecting her, turned away and acted like she didn't care. Dil turns her face back towards him and tells her that he liked a wife who was faithful to her desires, then stretches his neck. Embarrassed, Ria tries to escape, but Dil traps her in a hug. Aww, his wife was so cute.

    Summary up to ch 63
is a normal priestess at a temple who rembers her past life in the modern world/ recognizes the world shes in as a work of fiction she read. She imediately decides she is going to quit working for the corupt priests who drain her power all day with inhumane work hours. Shes not going quietly though and decides to rob them on her way out... and accidentaly awakens a god/spirit in the form of a talking owl who bonds to her & goes with her. She settles down in a remote cabin as a herbalist with her new best friend (the owl)
she was suposed to be an extra but turned out to be a hidden boss. Sometimes refeered to as a "guardian angel" (by the saintess) she has infinte holy power. Unlike other priests or even the saintess who use the holy power in their bodies, she channels it directly from nature
The dark broody yandere duke who is known as a "kingmaker" bc his lineage is more powerful than the royal faimily. He is known to be insane in the story due to his progressive curse and will eventually become the major villian. The MC meets him durring one of his insanity episodes where she knocks him unconious with a rock and brings him home for treatment. She actually manages to supress his curse & he wake up with no memory from the cucusion. At first he is weary about her thoughtful care & constant "lies" as he percieves it... but later (due to the owl and some other side characters egging him on) thinks the secret the MC is hiding about his lost memory is that they are MARRIED. He thinks she is pretending they are strangers to not overwhelm him or because there are social-class based issues in the relationship and she secretly loves him
The ML & MC live together since the ML is seemingly sweet & helpless in his current state. They encounter several assains & eventually the MLs subordinates arrive. one of the first things they notice is their boss acts normal when the MC leaves. Yup, he got his memory back... and decides hes going full yandere about the MC (soft manipulation style). Hes embarassed about the misunderstanding, then decides to use it by preteding his memory is still gone. A few things happen in a row: The MCs house blows up (due to a fight between the dukes henchmen and a wizard friend of the MC while shes out of town) and a creepy dark shadow monster comes hunting for her. MC agrees to go with the ML to the capital for her safety and to help the "memory loss puppy" duke adapt. The best identity she could use to make sure her old work place (the temple) cant kidnapp her back is the Dukes fiance
a creepy shadow has been eating priests and the MC is the first to survive an attack. In the capital she discovers shadow worms planted in the dukes people, discovers the shadows contractor (one of the dukes rival extended family members), and finds out the dukes curse comes from the shadow being. The shadow seems to be monitoring the duke in the hope of (getting a new body?) (eating him?) (doing bad guy stuff?). But the shadow isnt strong enough yet to take on the ML yet. All we know is his true form has purple eyes, is related to the royal family enough to use a royal carriage, anc is also yandere for the MC
The saintess who is supposed to be sweet & innocent but who is actually a little bipolar (swinging wildly between obsessive love for the MC and passionate hatred for anything to do dark magic). She still has a relationship with the OG ML (the prince) but seems to remember a past life as well. She is very excited to meet the MC bc she is convinced she is a guardian angel that god promised. OG FL is very very upset to learn the MC is engage to the monster duke
at first the MC goes along with it for her own safety but the ML is adamant from day 1 that he likes her and tells her directly when signing the contract engagement that a fake relationship can become a real one. Shes not that resistant and very quickly develops feelings back. The ML treats their engagement like its real and for all purposes it pretty much is. The only thing holding it back is the MC thinks he is still missing his memories and will kill her for taking advantage when he gets them back. He got them back a while ago and thought about it for 2 seconds before doubling down on husbando mode

Damn, can't believe it's been over a year. I remember there was a ridiculous heat wave in my country and my phone was getting uncomfortable to hold for long periods. I remember thinking I'd pick it up after the heat passes. Now it's a year later and the heat wave is back and worse than ever  I can't even remember the story now....

He realizes he was wrong about them being in a romantic relationship & immediately thinks about killing her (MC fears comfirmed)... but very quickly realizes the husband/wife play is really comfy. He very quickly decides he wants to keep her around instead.
He also realizes shes taking care of him because the memory loss is her fault & she is going to ditch him the second he gets better. So he doubles down on pretending he lost his memories, acting sweet & helpless, and insisting on the relationship misunderstanding until he can trap her in a legal one.
He starts the boiling-a-frog-slowly-in-hot-water plan with a contract marriage so she can help him "pretend" *wink wink* that he got his memory back to "fool his subordinates" who have found him. Hes just a ~helpless sweet guy~ who would get torn apart by those dangerous people in the capital without his memories!! How could she abandon him now!! Oh and hey, in exchange he can use his position as a noble to protect her from the temple priests who might want her back if the figure out her idenity. Win Win!! no downsides!! Sign right here!!
As she signs he makes it super clear up front that he likes her and a contract marriage can become a real one (esentially seting the contact up as a trial period for what he intends to be permanent)
