So this is an Art thread, art dump I'm just starting so I'm gonna add and add stuff the more i do something. 100 head challenge is a well popular art challenge, doing it so can improve multiple things, such as consistency, improving your visual/observational skills, breakings the same-face syndrome, and yadah yadah yadah. What I'm aiming for is how to render the face and other things as well, currently, I'm basically crawling my way through it with a blindfold, my goal is to have a clear and definite approach on how i would render the faces from now on, and improving efficiency, especially time efficiency. ( Since I've noticed i spent way too much on a artwork?) (100 head challenge have fixed faces to draw, which can be found as an Pinterest board, but.. i don't really like it, so I'm just gonna go ahead and pick other faces which i find interesting) I'm gonna start with the easiest thing for now - gray scale, and hopefully move from that to full colors. I'm gonna learn values all the way to color theory from here on out, i estimated I'll finish this challenge in 3-4 month, 5 months at max. Also, i don't think this will be limited from faces alone, i might do some anatomy stuffs yeah. Spoiler: Bonus art So this is some arts i did outside of the challenge~ Spoiler: 100 head challenge: Current status: 3/100, started on July 9 2022. (First 2 is made on the first day, i didn't do anything at 10 lol) Fun fact: the question marks isn't for the character going "?¿", It's just me confused XD. Edit; @uselessdeas23 on insta :'D
Head...hehe...there is a lewd joke hidden there... Bit good luck on the challenge, don't get burnt out. If you do, it's alright to take rests.
Thanks, i realized black and white looks boring as hell so yeah, that might because the artist Stephane usually has is one of my inspiration lolXD
I can't give that much head. 100 is too much for me... I hadn't heard of the challenge, but seems interesting (albeit also pretty annoying lol.) Good luck and I really liked the first one in the bonus art and the third one in the 100 head challenge
I do noticed this a lot, my hand seems to unconsciously draw them towards this typ of face and even my references have it, but at the sam time I'm probably just going to draw pretty faces anyways, as long as i keep their characteristics it's fine, it's seems like i already find my way of doing the default head anatomy XD, idk but this type of things are normal, you'll notice it a lot if you look at other artist, the just have their own way of doing their own faces.
No offense..I find the eyelashes so girly and the face girly or gay like face. But I think it will be the uniqueness of your drawing~ The best for me and natural look is the with glasses one.
... people do it on 10 days can you believe? but at their case they do it pretty simplified/very sketchy, and usually traditionally, it's just mine have a different goal than theirs so mine is def gonna take longer orz XD you'll notice it, the days when I'm in a good mood or not so much, it's evident, like the days i draw cuz i have nothing to do, or the days i draw where I'm inspired and is in a good mood, i had a great day today
XD i like pretty boys alright, ah that's because its a real person, the others are models so they have this idk beauty.
Ahh...bl..no comment..xD Ehh?really?who?your crush?xD I think if you drew them as girls they will be really really be very very beautiful~ <3
I was just wondering a little if it affects you skill-wise though. Like would impede your ability to draw other face shapes and do it in other styles?
It's a random pic i found on Pinterest, i thought he have a cute face so i drew him, it looks natural cuz he's doing a silly face unlike the professional poker serious face models have lol. Just wait~ I'll draw girls soon XD
Oh! No need to worry, there's those exaggerated expression old man faces in sculptures in the challenge XD it have a lot of variety, take note I'm starting from th easiest thing. I like experiments even if I'm like 100% I'm not gonna draw those in the futur ever again XD. Edit; doing othr face shapes isn't honestly not that hard as long as you have drawn it before, and knows basic anatomy+ reference. Sometimes it's just a choice, i just don't like those orz. I mean i can definitely draw them but... I choose not to! Cuz nope. I mean why would i >.> I already have a clear goal when it comes to my art anyways, I'll practice those once i have purpose for them. For now I'll do my current goals and develop it till i have enough tim for other things
Ahh.. I see.. It's because the main selling pt is the one the model is/are wearing and not their face but looks.xD Isn't the first one a girl? She's really beautiful like a barbie girl~ <3
Art is hard stormie QAQ ik i still have a long way to go, that's why I'm learning how to develop stuff rn, I'll do those once once i finally have a strong foundation, like yk going crazy with styles? Yk how artist tends to go with realistic certain style to very unique cartoonish stuff (picasso and samdoesart make good exampleXD) Anyways, we never know, artstyle changes to the artist current taste. Next time u see me again i might have developed the style of anime artstyle with no noses, lips as lines and big eyes tbh I'm thinking about that now, doing stuff might have way much easier now.. huhuhuhu, why did i have to like semi realism anyways.
Hmm.. i feel like your art lean towards skinny face. Try some puffy cheeks while you do the 100 face challenge
