I was just wondering if there were any stories about people who actually chose to live in a VRMMO world, or something like an online world permanently. Don't think there's too much of that on NU, but was wondering for any good ones anyway. RR is fine too.
Want some suggestions about this too. Preferably someone who atleast lives in that world for years as the story progresses like Rudeus who had a life of his own other than the "misadventures" of other protags
The Amber Sword is one. My Death Flags Show No Sign of Ending is another. Overlord (LN) is similar in a sense that he's in his VRMMO character in another world. If you meant that the MC still lives in reality, but chose to permanently live in an VRMMO (via life-support system or something), then yea idk.
Are you talking about Alterworld? The Play to Live series where people decide to live in VRMMO because they want to? It fits almost exactly, the MC decides to live in VRMMO because he's dying in real life.

Earth was destroyed and most humans there are A.I's they are kept as a fighting force, made to go to Emerillia and fight the Jukal's enemies till it turned into entertainment for the jukal. When the "player run" ends, all humans leave emerillia letting their real bodies die without knowing. Mc was so important on the simulated earth that the main A.I replaced him with another letting realize the farce, Mc simply stayed on Emerillia.
