Spoiler Doctor, Live Again / 의원, 다시 살다 [Manhwa : Doctor's Rebirth]

Yeah, I also need more people to talk about DLA with... I've already caught up with the latest ch on Kaka0 (Vol. 65 episode 19). Holy moly, I think the "Sun and Moon Church Calls You" is my favorite DLA arc ever. We got some really important lore reveals, heartwarming moments, comedy, and pain.


Okay, so... there are still things that I don't understand because I used MTL. I hope you don't mind me asking... hehe.

Spoiler: Some questions

1. The first CH went to the demonic cult and was accepted into one of the six families. This CH also created the Children's Library using the family's arts (?). He kept rewinding the time again and again to save Haryun. My question is, was the first CH succesfully become Cheonma in the end or did his timeline end during the Cheonma Festival? CH heard one of the CHs in his head called the blacksmith family his children or was that the Cheonma!CH from another timeline?

2. First CH said that if he ever wrote a story with Haryun as the main character, he would name it "Supreme Heavenly Demon", but we still don't know the exact details right? like, was SHD from the timeline where CH was on Earth or something.

The first timeline was so devastating. The love between these two brothers is so so so heavy and they really are each other's salvation (sobs)

Unfortunately we don't really have answer to these questions yet. We can only speculate. I kinda assumed first!CH and the cheonma!CH we got flashbacks from were different but they could possibly be the same person.

In Supreme Heavenly Demon, i'm pretty sure Yeo Haryun was the only survivor of the attack at the beginning so that might be it. In chapter 5 of the novel, CH remembers that the novel didn't have an author or a publisher and apparently it was just in his purchase list. His memories of earth might be unreliable, maybe he think he has read the novel there but it actually came from the childern's library ?

He also has sketchy memories of his senior. He can't remember his name or his face but he knows the leader of the blood cult has the same face. And the leader apparently has multiple seals that prevents people from recognising his features. I've seen multiple theories that he might be an alternate version of CH (like Baekcheon-gun and Sima Hyeon) or straight up a future version.

The next arc after the sun and moon church is titled "Give me the freedom to be free" (MTL). It's only a dozen chapters:

Because of the ban on fighting in Jiangsu province, martial artists are protesting because they don't have a place to fight. CH rents out the Olympic Stadium to them.

The head of the Yang family, Yang Cheong, comes to the clinic. The Yang family is one of the eight houses of the empire. They produces martial artists that choose a lord to be unconditionnally loyal to. They are exempt from treason against the whole family because of that. They also receives a lot of sponsorship money from various clans who hopes they will be chosen as lords. Baekrin pavillion has never donated to them because they are not interested (CH thinks that the chemistry monkey is clearly more useful).

Yang Cheong was actually one of the assassins that fought Nangung Woon during the doubtful demon arc (the one where CH disguised as middle aged angel Chutty and cleaned up corruption). After the emperors killed his master, he came back to his family and became head of the house.

His son, Yang Yu has a lunar/yin yang (?) constitution which makes him a rare talent but he also has hemophilia which is very bad for a martial artist. Of course, the most important thing for them is to die as a warrior even if they don't live long. CH still tries to tell Yang Yu He that can still serve a lord without being a warrior and that he wants him to live a long life. Even if he is ill, he still receives plenty of extravagant gifts and offers from families who still wants him even then.

Yang Yu get attached to CH and tells him he wants to serve him later even though he knows CH wouldn't allow him to be his guard. CH vows to make him a civil servant if he doesn't change his mind and come back as an adult.

 

Spoiler: About the senior

CH recognizes the Leader as his Senior when the Leader takes off the mask. He recognizes his Senior's face and says something along the lines of "I know those features, a face I have longed for... for a long time". But in the future arcs, CH suddenly can't recognize his senior's face anymore. I'm a little confused T_T

I agree with this theory though, it seems to be the most plausible one so far.

Yeah, that was a nice short arc, a break before the next big (?) arc. About yesterday's chapter... uh... It seems like a teaser for something huge. I'm kinda scared lmaoo

We still have a lot of unanswered questions about this. It was stated that Cheonhee would get more answers on the experiments after the Cheonma festival but it's never brought up after the ascension and it looks like he forgot about it. I'm a bit disappointed because I was waiting for it too.

 

Why is it that in other novels when the imperial family is being discussed it's usually filled with conspiracy, distrust, sometimes awe, fear, and whatnot. If the emperor doesn't have a successor yet, usually there is going to be some kind of battle for the throne with the protagonist or the protagonist is on the opposing side, maybe they even met the true heir and has to help them reclaimed the throne, and other palace drama clichés plot. The general public opinions will be be that there must be something wrong with the emperor (biologically or not). Why is it in this novel the reason there are no successor yet is because the emperor is being seduced by the MC's beauty?!!!

Apparently there is no fight in the harem because the emperors are equally uninterested in any of the women there. The concubine rumors are not stopping anytime soon and any interactions between CH and his older brothers fuels them.

Funny you mention that because in the latest chapter, it's stated that the concubines might have been selected because they don't seek power (Gold might have used his power to make sure they only choose women who won't cause problem). They are also wary of the emperor's personality so they don't try to approach him.

The admiral eunuch is pretty upset they don't at least have one successor but I think Gold and Silver are too busy with the end of the world coming and they are still hoping to pass the throne to Cheonhee later. It also doesn't help that they have "awakened" and look less human: they have scales, longer teeth, super strength...

Hilariously, Gold also has increasede libido as a result of his transformation but still won't act on it. Among the imperial siblings, only Red (the sister/Wangya Ju) has a love life.

And it also includes a new side story about Jegal Lin and the creation of Baekrin Pavillion. I hope they also release it digitally because I want to know that story and I don't think we are getting anything physical outside Korea

 

I heard that the author likes to donate. The fact they actually release a medkit is amazing. This is so on brand for the series. I am so jealous of Korean fans right now!!!

Yeah, releasing a medkit is such a good idea for this series. Gosh I need those physical volumes and special goodies sooo bad, but getting them outside of Korea is hard. I hope they will at least release the purchasable special side stories on Kaka0 later.

Also, the author said that center of the next arc is Hyeon... Hahhaha I'm scared-

Haiii, popping up here w/ some questions since the last thread went poof TToTT:

1. Scrolling thru this, i keep seeing these terms: "Fuxi", "the end times". Also is Cheonhee a "seed" of some kind or sth?? I think i might have a vague idea of what it means from the spoilers context but might be wrong so pls anyone willing to share a detailed explanation?

2. Last I checked, Hee-ah went blind some time iirc. What happened there and any juicy reactions from his family squad? Also heard my baby started smoking from the stress of war (!!!) How did his fam react to this

3. Could u share any fav instances where he was being self-destructive or self-sacrifical besides that one time he killed himself and the yandere moments from his teach n bros in response too if specific chapters numbers could be provided then that'd be fabulous!! (i saw a postype about Haryun's head flying off and our Hee-ah bleeding out in the snow and im very very interested sooo)

4. So far, who knows about the Children Library?? Also, do we know exactly how many mini JCs there are and any prominent/named mini Cheonhees that frequently shows up? (Idk how to explain it well but its like we know among the YJH kkomas there r ones that stand out like no.41/999/1863 in ORV iykwim) Any chapters I should read to know more about them (i.e. the library, the mini Hees, the sea of madness, etc.)?

5. Chapters/times when Baekcheon-gun (the Sima Hyeon from the Supreme Demon novel) appeared and his feelings towards Cheonhee and his brothers?

Someone really should update the tags of this novel. Seriously, I don't even know what I am reading anymore. I don't even know what genre this is anymore!!! Please, someone tell me!!! JC won't even let me read in peace. By the way, I am officially a fan of Princess Seonhee, kinda wanna watch one of his concert that could even made JL into a fan.

 

I quite agree with you, Jin Cheonhee has single handledy it modernized the whole murin world, a modern bureaucratic system with school, welfare and civil Engineering, public transport and mail system, washing machine, refrigerator, clocks, fire extinguisher and now virtual reality with modern training and strategies using video game like portal and Tetris ect... The deities are also described more as cosmic horror like outer gods or alien entities as well. I don't think I read a martial art murin work with so much high fantasy elements as here. There are still medical aspects going on but they are far in the between of other things. I don't mind because I love the level of cosmic scale and modern revolution the novel reacted but for those that started the novel either for the enough realistic grounded surgery stuff or for the classic murin setting I don't know if they will appreciate the changes. There are so many webtoon readers that bitch about Jin Cheon hee don't killing people when Jin Cheon hee himself is changing the murin world in one which killing and violence should be considered wrong like in the modern world.

 

I will try my best to answer. Please do forgive me because it's been a long time since I've read the first 1200 chapters, so I might not remember some details. MTL is also not helping.

1. Fuxi is one of the Three Emperors and also a creator god in Chinese mythology. The imperial family are the descendants of Fuxi and therefore have various special powers. Yes, the world is destined to end, but JC's actions hastened the process. JC saved those who were destined to die early, and he also changed many other things that were destined to happen. He basically went against the "Will of the heaven". Because of this, the energy of the Heaven was scattered and he is called the "Seed of Rebellion". Cmiiw.

2. The reaction of his brothers was not explained in detail, but they all visited him and even cooked (?) for him.

3. Yandere moments from his teacher and bros? I'm sorry, but I don't remember the exact chapters. That Haryun scene happened during the Ice Palace arc, which is also the arc where JC first experienced "Live Again".

4. So far, only JL and Yuho. I don't know how much they know about CL now, but at least until the "Good Night, Young Master" arc, JL knew that there was some kind of "collective consciousness" inside of JC. Even before he got most of his powers back, Yuho knew that something was wrong with JC's soul. He said that JC's soul is similar to... locust eggs, where each individual inside the eggs tossed and turned but not hatching. He also acted like he knew about CL in the Jinju arc. It's hard for me to confirm because of MTL. Well, we don't know how much Yuho knows about CL now, since the current Yuho is much more powerful than the Yuho at the beginning of the story. So far, there are only a few prominent/named little JCs. First Cheonhee and Hwalincheonma ig??

Chapter 866 (Volume 35 pt 13) or the chapter after it is the chapter where JC sees the little Hees for the first time.

5. Habaek arc and current arc! The latest arc is centered around Baekcheon-gun and Sama Hyeon.

Not gonna lie, I don't even know anymore. Is there any tags for cosmic horror and whatnot? probably the god and human relationship, dimension/world hopping, alternate universe?..technically there's music right? idol stuff? does multiple timelines/realms counts? mad/crazy protagonist? There's a lot going on, I can't even keep track of everything. The genre also need some updates, I think.

Nyarlathotep, or maybe the moon thing from Fear and Hunger, literally appeared in the last few chapters. Not only that, but the fact that I made a joke a few weeks ago about mecha stuff would probably appear in this novel because of the ridiculous amount of references of other otaku culture...And then, the chapter that made almost all the readers took shelter in the comment section dropped like the BGM of "that" show. At that point I was lost. I thought the Ojamajo Doremi reference was already...unique, then the AF side story also kind of destroyed everything I thought I knew about the lore and the characters.

Seriously JL, why is your personality so twisted? every single version of you has problems. Poor Cheonhee, he has to be an idol, and not the boy band idol, but the one with the pink frilly outfit, short pink skirt, cutesy dance, and catchphrase, basically the whole package. I guess he became the other JL's oshi now, let’s hope he doesn’t end up like a certain idol.

Can someone make a list of the things that he has done that destroy the Wuxia genre? Seriously, he has done a lot of things...I just want to keep track of JC madness systematically, if that is even possible.

 

At this point this novel has became just like Gintama only instead of seeing the already formed sci-fi historical fantasy fusion setting we are seeing the evolution from point zero LOL and that the novel take himself seriously instead of the fourth wall awareness. At this point does this novel count as a parody? Forgot the fourth wall awareness with the Korean transmigrator in Jin Cheon hee novel that appeared in the main story as well so he is legit

I know right!!! This is just Wuxia version of Gintama. The amount of referenced, although not as insane as Gintama, is already very ridiculous for the original setting that is usually straight forward in the world building and lore.

There’s literally a Jojo reference (with the ‘yare yare’), if he yells a stand name in the future or even make a ridiculous pose it will be perfect. This has ruined my experience of reading another wuxia story because of the amount of cliches that has been broken down with modern terminology instead. The romance is dead and I can’t go back to the way I used to after becoming a fan of this novel. I’m stuck here until the very end. Help.
