Anyway, this is a great story! A cutesy, slow romance. Both the MC and FL are endearing. I highly recommend this novel! * Note: there are 2 translators. iNoveltranslations was the original translator, but dropped this novel last year (2024). SigmArc picked it up and restarted translations last month. Both translations are great. My only peeve is that SigmArc stopped including a 'Next' button after the first 7 chapters. Anyway... This is not a transmigration or regression story. It's a modern setting and starts with the MC accidentally installing an app on his phone, the "Big Data App". This is his cheat. It's basically a (non-sentient) AI that he can ask to scan targeted people or things, that'll then do global searches and assorted analyses to provide all sorts of information and recommendations almost instantly. He can access the Big Data App mentally or via his phone. At the beginning of the story, the MC is a car salesman peon. So he tests this Big Data App out by scanning his customers so he could appeal to their personalities and unspoken requirements. Then on a whim, he decides to ask the Big Data App to determine who would be his ideal romantic partner. The result turned out to be a middle school classmate who he hadn't had much interaction with and never saw again after they went to different high schools. Of course, the mysterious fates brings them into contact. She's got her issues and didn't want to be bothered with being courted. The MC is trying to figure out why "she the perfect one for him". They get to know each other slowly while maintaining each other's boundaries, and it's pretty sweet and amusing. Of course, there's the business empire building using the Big Data App going on too.
ch-139: Doesn't the Qiaokou Investment Company that the MC is CEOing for have any analysts on staff? Why is the MC doing all of the leg work? Like, if Qiokou did have analysts, then this "expected failure" would be a good opportunity to give them some work. Let them look into wind power. One, to see if they have the skills to come up with the same result. And Two, to show the company that the MC is not infallible, ie while he has good ideas, they should be supporting him by doing some double checking. It's been less than half a year and the company is already showing signs of being unreasonably dependent upon him, so at some point he needs to wean them off his teat.
It sounds like the MC's reliance on the Big Data App is becoming a double-edged sword for Qiokou Investment Company. They definitely need to develop their analysts to support him and ensure a well-rounded decision-making process moving forward!
