    Isn't a fully-assembled shock mount relatively cheap, though? Jerry-rigging with string seems unnecessary.

    Although discontinued but still really good.

    Shock mount is relatively cheap, but this is not cheap. So not changing one yet.

    Ah, yeah, I think I had gotten one for about a third of that back in 2015-2017ish.
