As far as I have read, the ML regrets his actions against the FL and apologises to her. He dedicates everything he owns and himself to her. The novel is ongoing so it is hard to expect how it is going to end, but the latest chapters looks so promising.

To this point, Duke Cardale has successfully "purchased" Elise from her father - Earl Gerhard. She's is nothing but a tool to him so not only did he tell her about how she was "sold" to him (and I don't mean in a nice way) but then she is now complete enslavened to him. The girl is putting up with it though! Honestly it's pissing me off.

It sounds like he's getting ready to use Elise to expose Princess Theresa (who wants Duke Cardale really badly and has sent assassins after Elise) trying to kill her. Hopefully that will get the Princess off his back.

LOVE all of his household staff though. Despite knowing she is an illegitimate daughter of the Earl and a commoner maid, they treat her really well and show as much concern as they can without crossing Cardale's boundaries (which unfortunately doesn't have much give - I'm really disliking him).

Still before! I had to take a break from all traumatic novels because the women kept staying around for the abuse like come on I want VENGEANCE.

 

I understand but I rather she focus all her vengeance on her father because imo he's more terrible and he's probably the reason her mum dies

It'd be great too if she could become more confident and deal with Cardale a little too

Yep her father is totally disgusting and I dislike him much more.

Cardale used Elise to his heart content and degraded her to the point of her become suicidal. Pregnant with his child, she asked him to accept the child, cardale asked how can he be sure that is his child since she ran away, he also say she is a slave and the child of slave will also be slave, she is just a prey that accidentally pregnant. Nothing else. And that made Elise thinks that all that her ex-fiance told her were true. And she start having suicidal thoughts, she thinks it's better for child not to be born to be slave like herself. One day the back door was opened. She walked right into the woods and walked toward the cliff. she about to jump off the cliff when cardale found her, he heard her saying for child to goes to heaven, cardale was then realized that he pushed her to this point and try to get her to calm and walk back to him. However, she jumped right off, cardale too jumped to catch her, they fell off the cliff together, Cardale got her back but only her body, her mental is no longer stable and she continues to hurt her body in the place where no one can see, cardale later returned Elise backs to her family.

and at the episode I'm currently reading cardale is about to go crazy too because he just realized the emotions he has all along is love....the words his mom and princess mocked him about things around him will be destroyed by his own hands and stuff, he start reflecting on it and he thinks it's too late for him to fix now because Elise is no longer trust him and afraid of him.

Oh...the father.. cardale set a trap and father got into carriage accident resulting in paralyzed half down. the brother Damian, Marissa son who was gave away to orphanage at birth locked the father up the same way that father did to Marissa, all of Damian moved were supported by Cardale.

 

This is too heavy for my heart. I hate it when FL got pregnant where we knew that men like Cardale is just too naive to accept their true feelings but still follow their desire and resulted to this. It just like what happened to Leyla, Odette, Annette and Erna. Cardale better have a redemption arc for me to accept him.
