Of course I'm still going to read it on my own but I don't think my judgement would change.... cause I was already annoyed with them even before you told me all that...
I think I had high hopes for them thinking they will always be by cm side so the disappointment was aven bigger

-> I agree with you that these latest chapters feel so contradictory to the earlier ones—and to the ones I’m currently reading as well. The tone and direction have shifted so drastically.


-> I find it annoying, even nonsensical when an author weakens the good side so much while making the enemy overwhelmingly strong. It creates a one-sided dominance that feels frustrating and imbalanced


-> I can’t help but think how disheartening it is to see CM suffering alone, without support, love, or trust,while the antagonist is at their peak strength and thriving

-> When I see such a contradiction between the earlier and latest chapters, it feels like the author may have lost their way, introducing unnecessary and tragic events without clear forethought.
It’s not like a well-planned story from the start, such as Oda’s work in One Piece.

( I just wish the direction had been handled differently)

no pov switch, guys. its tang gunak, jeok ho and cms... gunak is taking out his bottles of tang’s poisons and remedies. applying anesthetic/paralysis poison on his wounds to not feel pain. jeok ho wanted to continue the fight 1 on 1, stopping cms, but gunak said, that cms cant go. he is basically going to fight two ppl in his current condition. in the end he decided to use acid on the daggers, to have more impact with the wounds he can inflict on the enemy... but also burning away his hands.

first pov is jo geol wanting to help on the frontline, seeing gunak suffer injuries and dowi falling at some point. yj stopes him, with logical arguments. and also saying they need to believe in other. second pov is cm and jin songwon. they clash a lot, songwon is venting, cm is receiving injuries… in the end cm says that he understands them (songwon and diancang) to the point that he is sick of it, overwhelming songwon with the plum blossom sword technique

Chung myung got all rights and reasons to be a villain...supervillain even, if he snaps everyone's done, sure thats not happening but he's bottled up enough and when he snaps he's gonna explode

soooo we got two povs. first one the continuation of the previous chapter, which is cm-bc-songwon. cm is still clashing w songwon but bc is trying to stop them. in the end of the pov, songwon sees smth and “his eyes open wide” and the pov switches to gunak. so ehm. he is in a very bad state. it looks like he is gonna die. but.. huu. WE GOT JONGLI GOK FF##ing moving finally. he saves gunak in the end of the chapter. (tbh i thought he would be saving the dying trio. but maybe it would be maeng so)

AND im sobyeong is also there STANDINING BESIDE jongli gok. who would have thought, considering jongnam’s stance on sapa guys. the usual banter between cheon myeon susa and ims. and tang gunak refusing to be dragged away by pae to get treatment to watch jongli gok and im sobyeong

the pov switches to the dying trio of hye yeon, lee songbaek and dowi. sun palace lord was pretty much close to killing them. but he was attacked BY A TIGER. oh god. IT's MAENG SO SAVING THE TRIO. by the end of the chapter sun palace lord sends a blast of hot yang energy at maeng so, but he walks out of it, saying that “you should know now. why has the sun palace, having such great power, not been able to advance into the central plains” IMPLYING THAT THE BEAST PALACE CAN pretty much stand against the sun palace

no pov switch. its the fight between maeng so and the sun palace lord. maeng so sent spl flying and tumbling across the ground, this is so satisfying… spl got so furious his own technique started to eat away at him. the heat was so intense even maeng so, who was readying himself to attack couldn’t do it. but. two figures block the heat suddenly. ‘white ice divine palm?’ thinks maeng so. ICE PALACE HELPED HIM. he attacks the spl. me thinks spl is done for

pov switch to cms, jeok ho, jongli gok and ims. i wouldn’t say anything particularly exciting happened. jeok ho attacked jongli gok and they clashed for some time. cms attacked from the back, but ims defended against him with his fan techniques. in between the fight - some banter, some dialogue and some inner monologues.

ims and jongli gok again. a lot of pages of their banter. but the later half of the chapter is quite interesting. a lot of new information on im sobyeong’s techniques. bcs he faces jeok ho (surprisingly no cms). ims sends jeok ho flying lmao. everyone is left dumbfounded. he says he didn’t earn his position as nokrim king through gambling

first short pov is jo geol and yj talking about ims, while jo geol is alarmed about him joining the frontline. but yj says, that this guy (being a genius) wouldn’t have stepped in without thinking. second pov is back to ims and jeok ho. so basically ims overwhelms jeok ho, bcs jeok ho cant rly comprehend ims’s techniques and him always guessing the next attack. by the end of the chapter cms seems to be losing patience as he rushes to attack jongli gok

jin songwon, bc and cm pov. songwon can’t believe his eyes. not only the beast palace, but the most he is flabbergasted by jongnam and nokrim working together. bc and songwon talk a lot. BTW. the chapter title. it was bc, who says it. that he can be the one to bear those sins. cm says bc is and idiot, but he also says "That's how I found out. When the smart guys can't do anything, it's the idiots who open the way. That's all." in the end songwon leaves the scene. and bc collapses to the ground, covering his face, absolutely exhausted

 

Chapter 1816 and kinda a long spoiler with some questions

fist pov is jis and gamyeong. jis says it’s becoming boring. and he should probably go see the things himself. gamyeong is, as usual, having a lot of thoughts how some things could be prevented and etc. the pov end with cryptic comments from jis about some preparations again, gamyeong has no idea what he has prepared and what end to this battle jis sees, as do i.

the interesting things come with the second pov. jin hyeon helps jo geol, and they are engaged in battle, while jo geol suddenly freezes and starts staring intently somewhere. when jin hyeon follows his gaze, he sees that someone (something red).. is climbing mount wudang. and he seems very scared of that. HM I BARELY HAVE AN IDEA WHY. they are kinda far from wudang. they are fighting at the vast plain, as it was mentioned. what was left at wudang.. and why is jin hyeon in such distress… young disciples? wounded? heo gong and some sect members? is jis aiming for wudang to leave the battlefield?

first short pov is blood palace climbing the mountain. so its indeed them. second pov everyone on cheonumaeng arguing about what to do in this situation. in the end yj decides to sent geol and a few baek and chung disciples (even if they dont make it in time - this is ridiculous tbh. and they could barely fight blood palace, and they didnt master immortal qi(???)) but when they are ready to run there black smoke started to rise between the pavilions of wudang sect (i hope its some plan by ims or zhuge, if they didnt think about their rare being attack by ilso - they were extremely nerfed in their intelligence)

Chapter 1818

first short POV jin hyeon and mu jin realizing that the sect is on fire, but blood palace haven’t reached it yet. after it pov switches to wudang. blood palace lord rushes up. he meets. heo do. they have a long conversation about why etc. so basically heo do stays there to prevent blood palace catching up on the fleeing people. in the end… heo gong steps out and joins him. the moment i cry. i rly like heo gong

3 povs. jin hyeon and mu jin understanding who is burning wudang and why and staying on the battlefield. jang ilso cryptic talks with gamyeong (what does it mean to really win this battle - aka i think killing off cm). the third being cm and bc. cm asks bc to stay behind him to stay alive. bc refuses, saying it’s cm’s role to lead and fight. and he will do what he can and continue to struggle as much as he can. they both go separate ways for now. in the end bc’s back overlaps with chung mun’s image for chung myung. thats rly sad

red dogs being constantly bewildered that they are being pushed back by hwasan. yoon jong pov reminiscing about all the disciples he was relying on and getting scared for a second, but regaining his composure and taking the lead. un am+un geom pov with the main theme being “trust the disciples,” “even without chung myung and baek cheon hwasan is still hwasan.” ho gamyeong being miserable, as he sees chung myung pouring out a river of plum blossoms to finally make the visible crack in sapaeryeon’s formation. hg hears “the sound of a heavens collapsing” in his mind. seems like cheonumaeng is finally overwhelming their enemy

three povs. first one yj and iseol. second one (very short) chung myung. he is coughing up blood as a price for overusing his internal energy in his state. he looks at jis and sapaeryeon running away. but turns his gaze somewhere. to non other than ho gamyeong. in the end he steps towards hg’s direction. last pov ims jlg, talking about the trap jis probably set up. tang gunak joins them. but in the end of the chap. countless jang ilso dupes start to rise throughout the whole battlefield

first pov just cheonumaeng seeing jang ilso’s clones and all being flabbergasted and etc and not knowing where to run. second pov back to jongli gok and ims. and ims says to tang gunak, that the order to the whole alliance should be to kill jang ilso. “today here we will end this war.”. idk what to think anymore their whole army is spreading out to chase jang ilso clones

 

i hope jang ilso dies this arc or at least suffers some injuries

I have read till the latest chapter and to tell the truth I started laughing when jis clones popped out of nowhere like dude
But I have a feeling (or at least I hope so) they the last time cm appeared he was walking towards Ho Gamyeong. So I hope he will kill him

 

First time asking here, does anyone know where I can read the side story with tang bo in it? I've seen people talking about it and I've been deadly curious

TWO pov. first jongli gok, im sobyeong, tang gunak. at some point zhuge jain also joins them. the main point of their whole conversation is “people can pretend but dogs cannot” - they are tracking red dog’s movements to calculate where ilso is. second POV - chung myung FINALLY reaches ho gamyeong. in the end of the chapter, smiling brightly, he says “you owe me a lot” and rushes at gamyeong like lightning

 

bro if chung myung now kills gamyeong it will be huge
