I don't know if many westerners use the site. I'm terribly afraid. it feels like shubaow all over again, and that one contained even more lost media than sto.cx and on the fifth day of a month, too. i've been archiving bits and pieces of it here and there into pdf form when i had the time, but only my favourite books, and very few of those are censored or lost media. an awful sense of grief is consuming me (may be an overreaction, may be my lack of sleep, i concede). I feel each loss so heavily. these novels have been with me for the past 5 years, and it's just horrid to see the govenrment's censorship efforts take effect. apologies if this is not what this forum thread was for. i found solace in reading the forum post about shubaow years ago. "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable." I will be haunted by these words for years to come, if this turns out to be permanent. I am glad that my first loss was a website and not a human. I am fortunate that this is the biggest problem in my life right now. if only all that we love could outlive us.
I was hoping the site was just blocked in several countries, but just checked via host-tracker and sto is unaccessible in all of them. Sad day for people who read raws
I'm sad as hell too! More than the actual novels, what I really liked about sto.cx is the comments from other readers. They tell it to you straight if a novel is worth reading + they're funny too. I really, really hope it's just temporary since I don't remember the titles of the novels I saved to my bookshelf.
for some reason some of the pages are still up, such as https://www.sto.cx/list-mbook-47-2-0.html, although my hopes of recovering the entire site dwindles by the hour. i'll miss the comments, indeed. what a loss.
getting war flashbacks of when kissmanga got taken down. never thought I'd feel the same heartbreak again. my crematorium novels!!
Yeah, some pages were still working for a while yesterday, but now they're all fully down... Sigh. Oof, don't remind me! I'll really miss those stupid bloody crematorium novels. By the way, what replacement sites are you guys gonna use? I'll really miss the sheer amount of novels sto.cx had. Ugh, I feel so bummed out whenever I think about it. This hit me harder than when shubaow went dark, because sto.cx actually allowed you to create an account to store the novels you've read in your bookshelf. Such a damn shame!
I assume at first it was a maintenance, but it’s taking too long. I do have the email for the website service, and I have just sent a emailing asking if the website will be back up. I’ll keep y’all updated if I get any response. My current backup is [redacted] with an adblocker.
Please do! And same, [redacted] is also my backup right now, along with [redacted] (cleaner UI but a lot less novels).
it feels like forever since sto.cx got taken down. it's upsetting bcs i lose ALL my novel collection and have to recover all of it AGAIN (previously i use shubaow too), which i dont remember any of the title
