Hello everyone!! Your favourite Queen is back once again to spread love!! So guys what are your favourite shounen/ seinen mangas/ animes of all time? Do you have a list that you keep updating? My brother does I keep a list but in my head... Do you guys wait until the end of the anime/ manga to judge whether it is one of your favourites or do you just know? Also what makes a anime/ manga so likeable to you?
It’s not possible. It’s like saying. What’s your favorite song? There are too many. A question like what was your first anime or manga? That I could answer. Maybe if you said a specific genre. It would narrow it down. Maybe ask what manga went to anime do you like best? There are just too many. Sorry
No. No. No, it’s fine. It’s an innocent question. So there is nothing to be sorry about. Besides I may be the minority here. An indecisive scatterbrained idiot. Don’t take my last reply to heart. I genuinely like the question. I just didn’t know where to begin. Thank you for being kind in your reply
Cuty you're not an idiot!!! It was my fault for assuming everyone had a list or some in mind. To be honest im indecisive too thank you for the advice i genuinely apperciate it
Here’s the top ten of my favorites- tenjho tenge My dress up darling Sun Ken rock Black Lagoon Nana to Kaoru Kuroko basketball The Prince of Tennis Kenichi the mightiest disciple Air Gear Highschool of the Dead
My fav of all time is God save the king anime. Although it got BL vibes, that anime was what got me into this otaku stuff. As for Manga, i've can't seem to recall any names rn. There's a lot of OGs that I read in my teens, and I've forgotten what they are, so am not going to name any. How i know which is my fav? The one will the most interesting plot gets into my list. I'm also the type who don't keep a list so I often have trouble finding back names whenever I wanted to reread a series.
Since Sun Ken Rock was mentionend, I guess manhwa is also okay? Here is my top 5: The Breaker + The Breaker New Waves (manhwa) Gantz (Of course the manga. The anime is just a prologue and ends without any explanation.) Sun Ken Rock (a real classic and also a masterpiece) Air Gear (Again the manga. Damn, this one gets really good further down the storyline.) Hunter x Hunter (Nothing beats the dark tones of the manga) Honorable mention: Tower of God (manhwa/webtoon). It would be safe in my top 5, if not for the latest arcs I read a long time ago. Author was very creative with the plot and the fighting, but recently he settled into a rythm/structure, which kills the creativity in fights and objectives. Its still a top notch manhwa, but the fights are also too long in my opinion. Its as if the author doesnt have any new ideas or lacks time to properly develop the arcs. The results are one very long mass group fight after another. Seriously, author what happend? All this sounds negative, but its still better than most other shounen fighting/manhwa out there. Its just, that the author set the bar very very high for I think over 400 chapters.
My opinion is +/- similar w/ @Cutter Masterson. I mean the boom of anime world wide was sometime between mid '90s - early '00 which means that today there are already tons of titles even if we split them into certain category, not to mention what Gen-X-ers like me have watched before that boom era through VHS. So, to answer your question @QueenAthy, I gonna limit them from winter 2014 up to autumn 2024 in no particular order & mind you that some of the titles are ambiguous whether they are shounen/seinen or not: - Youjo Senki - Hoozuki no Reitetsu - JJBA 3, 4 & 5 - Ushio to Tora (2015) - Blood Blockade Battlefront - GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought Here - Fugou Keiji - Balance: Unlimited - Kusuriya no Hitorigoto - Knights & Magic - Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online
Gate And Knights & Magic are good ones. But here some old schools anime. The Familiar Zero Mr. Ajikko Tenchi Muyo Goldenboy Love Hina Suzuka
