Hello. A while back I watched a youtube video and it was a process of building a house out in the woods. I remember the guy who was doing it was using simple tools and explaining how and why he did each step, and it wasn't boring. The end result was a wooden framed house with clay bricks and a clay foundation and a chimney, was a very small house basically room sized in the end, but livable if you were okay with cramped spaces and was good for keeping it warm or cold. Handy video if you isekai i suppose. When i try to find it on youtube it seems like there are a whole bunch of drywall level of fun exciting copycats...
I would isekai with a bunch of other m****** workers and have them build it for me Cheap, fast, .... and sometimes good. And that's a compliment.
Lol, building a shelter sounds simple, but it's not viable long term. Not much of us have the technical skills or physical ability to do that. I'd probably try to do some work somewhere.
I watched some of such vids too. Though they always have mute workers who speak gibberish and the houses they make look like ancient homes in the middle of nowhere with a pool.
Water: Concrete: Cabin: I have a playlist of primitive technology. I hope I’m ready when the time comes...
I would use concrete for walls, roads and even toilets. The cabin can be translated to other technology like water wheels, furniture and weapons
As to your poll. I would choose none. I would find a spring of water. If not I’d find a stream. Than find shelter. Maybe a cave, small valley or even a large tree. Than build a temporary camp and set traps for small game and/ or fish. Than start building. I would start by marking off buildings, roads and farms. Than start cutting trees down. I would leave a few as possible future crane positions. The trees need to be shaped before drying. If you wait until their season. They maybe to hard to modify. The first building I’d build would be a sawmill I’d try to use water power first. If that doesn’t work use wind. I would also add on a mill to grind granite or similar rock for construction like for roads and also for the concrete. If I can grow grain. I’d also make a second mill to grind grain. I’d start building concrete foundations for all basement and foundations. Hopefully by next year the wood would be season enough to be use. To kill time I’d start a farm and hopefully find some potatoes or equivalent. If I still have time some defensive works. At least some concrete walls. If I still have enough time I’d add some roads with gravel base with a layer of concrete on top with concrete culverts on the side. Two lanes are about 10m with a 2m island. 2m bike land. 2m sidewalks. Each city block would be 100m x 200m. With parks interspersed. With sewer lines in placed and possible electrical needs. Still time I’d start on the water issue. Water filtration and storage (never know their maybe a cold winter). If the spring is on a rise or mountain. Gravity feed everything. Use river stones and charcoal to filter out the water and use lots of clay. Next a forge with Bessemer plant in mind. Looms for cloth and ropes. Kiln for ceramics and glass Ovens for soaps and other chemicals. Silos with screws for food storage. Ranch for chickens, cows, sheep and pigs. There will be buildings for many other things like shops and inns. And of course my house. I’d figure within 10 years I should be fairly along that I can start exploring the land around me. I’ve thought about it a lot
what could possibly go wrong with making your home out in the wilderness also a watering hole,,, i suggest you try it before you isekai, and then show me the result of your project. just research isnt good, you also need practical experience
True, but their great to creat a P trap. I mean I could use fired clay, but I’d be afraid of it cracking over time.
My field of expertise are in engineer on a ship, HVAC tech and Maintenance. My skills range from wielding to carpentry. Being a ship engineer you can’t go to Home Depo to pick up a part in the middle of the ocean. You have to have an intimate knowledge of systems from electrical to fire suppression systems. Than create a makeshift solution until we get back to shore. I’ve trace out every system and replaced every line. I know most ships like the back of my hand. HVAC tech range from installing air conditioners to furnaces. Either running gas pipe or refrigerant lines. I have installed hundreds of systems. Ranging from generators to water heaters. Maintenance has to be a Jack of All Trades. My knowledge range from plumber to running cat 5 cabling. As to my knowledge of a primitive lifestyle. Between the age of 0 and 8. I lived in the wild, but that’s a little generous. It’s more like we were homeless and we had to make do. I’ve been sent to the hospital for dehydration because we ran out of water. I’m pretty good at fishing, spear diving and hunting wild pigs. So I do have the basic mentality and know how, but you never know until your in the situation.
Not sure why you'd build a permanent shelter in the woods, when you should probably be figuring out how to find a city to live in. Monsters and all that.
Primitive Technology copycats tend to do a lot of stuff off camera so I wouldn´t really trust those videos. The ´´´Millionaire´´´ pools they always seem to introduce will also turn to shit real fast, cuz stagnant water will absolutely attract all kinds of filth. I wouldn´t recommend any of you to try that btw. Everyone knows that the best choice is to simply dig a two-meter-deep hole to sleep in there after covering the surface with a block of dirt.
unless this cat have magic nay don't wanna build house inside forest~ this cat dunno general knowledge nor technical skill to build one. If simple tent then yeah maybe, better search cave or something~ near water source such river~ just imagine ya pop up at nowhere with only cloth stuck on ya clothes.... nope nope nope
