I agree. This has filial piety stamp all over it. If this novel was written by changing their nationality etc, to an American or whatever then the mom would have been cut out from their family and MLs dad and mom would have had to live with the consequences of their actions
When the ML goes to get a ring, he discovers that the same shop had an engagement ring sold 7 years ago. So the ML investigates and finds out that 7 years ago he bought flowers and a ring on his credit card. He bugs the florist about his situation and the florist looks up the flowers the ML bought. They find out that the ML was going to propose and it has the FLs name on it. I am not sure what chapter it was though.

I agree with u so much. I absolutely hate this unrealistic part of the stories. I was planning on reading this novel until I read this part. No hell no a real person changes like that... Narcissist remain narcissist even when they are inside grave. This kind of novels give wrong view to young women to put up with this kind of situation and potentially harm themselves and their child.
