[OOC] Lot of it has to do with what is called distal taper which refers to the thickness of the sword on the plane of the edge as it goes towards the point, it is one of the things that decide how a sword is balanced and often says a lot about its handling characteristics. Poorly made replicas often have uniform thickness (no distal taper) which results into the feeling of handling an ornate crowbar.

[OOC] Yeah, anyone who says the pommel of the sword alone is there for balance often does not completely know what they're talking about. The blade geometry has a lot to do with it specially the profile and distal taper, the amount of metal left on the sword's tang, the weight of the crossguard, length of the handle and then finally the pommel. There are hollow pommel, ring pommel designs, and pommel made of organic materials (usually found on pre-medieval and eastern swords) which has inconsequential value to the handling characteristics of a sword compared to the other factors.

OOC: I felt bored so I decided to write this.

~~A random morning of Chrys~~

Waking up to the morning sun that fell upon the city, the girl yawned stretching her arms making her body resemble a "Y" shape. Stretching some more, pulling her legs, arms, and wiping at her eyes, she finally got out of bed. Standing up, her body tumbled a little bit, still not used to being awake. Not paying that any heed, she went to her dresser and began to clothe herself. Taking off her nightwear and donning a more fitting outfit to show the world, or at the very least, the people who she'll meet during the day.

Checking herself for any weirdness in her outfit by the mirror, she then went into her bathroom, proceeding to brush her teeth. After an adequate amount of time, she rinsed her mouth and began to style her hair. Comb in hand, she pushed down on her pink hair, flattening the stray few who decided to pop up. After about 5 minutes of hair control. She looked into the mirror once more, satisfied, with her current appearance, she walked out of her bathroom, and glanced at the time she kept with the clock that hanged atop her wall. Seeing she had some time left, she walked to immense bookcase, showered with books of all genres. Picking one and random, or perhaps at whim, she settled down with the book on her armchair, set next to her window, so that natural light may descend upon her as she reads.

Although lost in the contents of the riveting book, she has enough semblance of mind to look up at the time, to make sure she doesn't become late. After finishing about 5 chapters of the book, she frantically got up, patted her clothes, and went to her kitchen, probably just remembering that she hasn't actually eaten this morning. Though she normally doesn't, her stomach felt slightly more hungry than usual. With a book in her left hand, a spatula in her right, she flipped her eggs onto a toasted slice of bread. Placing another slice of bread on top of the egg, she began to eat her egg sandwich, while simultaneously reading her book and making sure to not get any crumbs on her clothes. Probably more trouble than it's worth, but she was content. Gathering the crumbs made by her meal into her hand, she dumped in into the garbage can and slapped her hands together, to get off any that stubbornly clung onto her.

Moving quickly to her bathroom once more, she diligently checked herself for anything weird again, seeing nothing of interest, book in hand, she left her home, and traveled to her job, while reading.

yes I do this quite often, a sort of weird talent? I can read and understand the book while walking (sometimes even running, but that might get me nauseous, and because of lyme my eyes changed a bit so I don't think I can do as quite as often) and never have I once walked into something. People who do, well I have one word for you, your peripheral vision sucks, wait, that's 4 words. Dang, what was the saying that actually fits here?)

Seating herself in her usual spot, she read her book as she waited for adventurers to descend upon her. Such was, a morning of Chrys.
