I felt Peeta was kind of a tool tbh and I haven't read past the first book....After I read the first book I just skipped to the end of third book just to see what happened. The resistance won and the other guy got Ntr'd.

maybe not really a heroic sacrifice but the mc were just a young girl without an OP power like in most of asian novels, she charged front just to help the guys under her command survive the war.
one of the sacrifices that made me cry, she sacrificed her own life many times in battlefileds, threw her life to the enemy front just to keep the soldiers behind her safe (i cried alot when she showed her naked body that were full of battle scars to her king, refused his order to be the queen and walked away )

 

Soo she put her life on the line....she didn't sacrifice it...(aka died for something)

The majority of the kids went into it instead of trying to find a way out like stopping the heart temporarily. And also the sister, she came from a different world to sacrifice her life saving the new world or at least the life of the pilot she replaced. Although she probably did it because she want to be with her brother. On another level the adults who were willing to let kids determine the fate of 7 billion lives. Could have killed them to replace them with adults.

Not so much spoiler description : World is entering destruction because desertification. For generations certain royalty must sacrifice their lineage to HALT it. If they missed sacrificial ritual , desertification gets faster. Not many people will throw they life for something like that.

Princess of Granorg who gets designated as next in the line for sacrifice ritual for current time.

Previous sacrifice should be him but he doesnt want to be. He fled to enemy country Alistel while kidnapping Ein. Thus his brother or current King of Granorg (Ein and Eruca father) sacrifice himself. In perfect ending he sacrifice himself to atone his sin.

 

There's no heroic sacrifices, just unwilling or willing cannon fodder...
