Ok so where does the tragedy tag come into play? I am at chapter 90 and getting really scared to continue on with this. I hate tragedy and already was fully invested before I seen the effing tag I am a widow so i CANNOT DO tragedy but i am in to deep with this.

What are your favorite webnovels? Also are there any good novel that are not over 100 chapters?

The novel is romance and the author was faithful to the genre so it has a happy end(if you're OK with Leyla ending up with Matthy) Leyla will have a better life and a family and her husband really loves her, I mean Matthias is obsessed with her LOL but he really tries to be good and amend for his mistakes in the past

Hi, may I know what is the latest chapter in English. I only managed to find until chapter 143.

Can anyone spoil me :
1. How long did it took Matthias to return from war? Why was he mistaken as dead, was he taken as prisoner of war?
2. Did he get prosecuted by martial law (for planning MC's escape using his authority)?
3. Did Matthias has a hand in the generator accident that caused Uncle Bill to be taken by police?

Honestly, if Matthias has taken the normal route to woo MC, they would have ended up together easier and better. But no, he went full Yandere psychopath method which of course will scare off girl. I actually thought Matthias and Claudine are match made in heaven because both of them are calculative and sadistic (Claudine slightly sadistic but definitely has the potential).

 

It took him almost an year to come back. His team got suddenly ambushed by enemies and during this attack Riett died, ML was also very seriously injured and ppl believed everyone in that attack died. However, he survived. His promise to Leyla that he will come back kept him going. He was in recovery for a long time before finally going home and surprise his mom and grandmom.

As far as I know there were no consequences. He just let FL leave with Kyle.

No, he didn't have a hand in generator incident. That was purely cuz of uncle bill's hate for technology.

Yeah, he is full psycho. There is not even a single excuse for him the book acknowledges this but his character is interesting to read. He manage to break readers mind along with Leyla's. I think it is mainly about ego. Cuz he is a really rich guy with perfect life and all calculations but he fell for an ordinary girl. Rather than admitting it he choose to bully her for ruining is pic perfect life. If this was real life I'd throw Matthias in a psych ward and take Leyla to therapy. This was definitely not love and even in end it does feel like author would go for single ending but since romance authors have to do happy ending they have to get leads together. Also, his suffering was so fun to read, watching him crying and losing his calm composure in the end was amazing. Also, the authors writing is something that just makes it better. And yeah if it was reality claudine and matthias would marry and it would take years for him to realize his feelings. But here claudine end up provoking him to the point he realized his feelings.

When i re-read it (i enjoy author's way of telling the story and the translation is good, as if the novel was originally in English), i realized how Claudine had inadvertently push Mathias obsession with Leyla. If she hadn't drag Leyla to the teatime at the hotel, Mathias wouldn't have took offense that Leyla dumped him to date and have sandwich with Kyle. Aftereffect was Mathias forced Leyla to sit down and eat sandwiches in his presence.
If she hadn't invite Leyla to her party (to humiliate her if she turned up in shabby dress), Mathias wouldn't have bought luxury necklace and gown for Leyla (he refused to let Claudine bully Leyla, because only he can do that). Then he got annoyed when Leyla, wore all the stuff he paid for, but turned up escorted by Kyle.
If Claudine hadn't made Leyla her temporary maid, Mathias wouldn't have realized why he would bothered to avenge Leyla.
Claudine really did a lot of unnecessary thing.

Grandma and mother did a lot too - if grandma hadn't told Mathias about the school transfer, if ML mother hadn't inform him about Kyle and Leyla's marriage plan right before Mathias sign up for his military service extension.

 

Yeah, the translator did an excellent job with this story. It even has officially tl now but I don't know if they can keep the wording as impactful as fan tl.

Like matthias, claudine also has a big ego and cared too much about power. Wish she had followed her heart and accepted Riett.

Oh and it would definitely be some easy fairytale ending if the mother just stayed quiet about Kyle and Leyla. But in this story the villain won At least the man knows he is destructive and let her go in the end before she choose to go back to him.

I finally managed to get the raws for this novel, but I realized that some of the scenes that were in the translation aren’t in the original novel..?? Appreciate the hard work they did, but would have been great if they didn’t add up any scenes that the author hasn’t written. Would recommend the official one..

ML’s relatives reminds me of some parents who are neutral about their son’s partners but the moment they find out that the girl is pregnant, they would put her on an altar and worship her (if she manages to give birth to a son or better twins)

Not really. They still disagree when he told them they have a child. But only reluctantly agree when ML threatened to throw his title and every thing away. In a way, they accepted MC in a self-perseverance way. If ML threw his title away, the Duke title will go to next male relative. Once that male relative takes over, these grandma and mum will have to leave the mansion (although still wealthy) and also lose the power of being 'main ladies of Herhardt family'. In short, they were doing it for their own sake too.
They only like Felix after seeing how cute he was.

Can anyone explain what really happened at the hospital where ML recuperate and hiding his identity (the hospital is in enemy country)?
There was an old man (nobleman of enemy country Lovita but is cousin to ML's grandma). The story mentioned about the old man was supposed to negotiate the return of a Lovita prince from Berg , but why he ended up at ML's hospital?
I think the last few chapters were kind of rushed.

 

But they warmed up to the fl eventually.
Initially they were courteous to her but later in the story they grow closer and the mother in law even suggests she takes a job as a teacher at the university once she gets her degree,and she was very cautious about the new Duchess studying and being so carefree before.
It was a very natural change in the relationship,I was so surprised by how well the author handled it.

 

I doubt they add scenes to the story. Since Yonder is working with Naver, they're probably communicate with the author.
I do hope we can see like print book version of this novel and the Remarried Empress with all illustrations.
Would be a nice addition to my library next to Solo Leveling.

 

The author released a new novel yesterday ,"Bastian",and the comments said that characters of "Cry,or better yet,beg" make appearances.
It seems it takes place before the male lead marries the female lead though.
Mattias appears and so does Claudine(the comments said she was bullying someone),and a princess that was said to be in love with Mattias.(?)
An user said that Layla was subtly mentioned too as girl in bike that Mattias was observing.
Both novels have the same war too.

 

I was reading the manhwa (updated up to chapter 7) and managed to see Mattias' cameo in the royal dance. Only his back was shown though. But I thought Mattias' time period will be more modern time than this, something like 1930s era, but this novel 'Bastian' is like late 1800s.
Only one Princess Isabelle was mentioned for now, and she's in love with Bastian. I guess there's another younger princess who favors Mattias.

On the other hand, did Bastian (Klauwitz) appeared in the novel Cry? I found his name familiar.

BTW, why is this novel Bastian gotten its manhwa earlier than Cry Even Better if You Beg?
I can see author's signature ML - confident and business-above-all attitude with hidden weakness for very beautiful women. The kind that don't fall in love easily, but once they chance upon a woman that fits their ideal, they will fall very hard. And the sadistic traits.
