Novel is overall pretty good, but I don't think it deserves 4.7 rating at all. After story sifted to wildlands characters are increasingly just saying same gag lines and we have couple plots/developments on repeat. Overall quality of the novel is rapidly decreasing, story and characters are just becoming more 2D.
Actually same thing happened to Trash of count's family, it just took a bit longer to be apparent. We have 99% same banter and plot going on repeat without any real development. Thus I think I finally got bored of it at 300+ something.

If we just looked at what happened before wildlands I would say novel is deserving of the rating 4.5. But wildlands has been 3-3.5 and overall disappointment as quality kept on decreasing.

 

The plot has never been the novel strongest point. Since the start of the novel, they have just been going around trying to get an item X to strengthen themselves or trying to prevent something bad from happening to character Y. What carries the novel is the amazing chemistry between Jude and Cordelia. I have rarely seen a couple with such a good chemistry. The author is also doing a rather well job with the power couple aspect. Although we have a certain favoritism toward Jude, he has been able to let Cordelia shine enough, so it doesn't feel like she is there just to be Jude's trophy. The biggest problem with the wildlands arc is that it is taking too long to finish it. They are basically just walking around the map rather than really trying to solve the problem, so it is starting to get boring.

 

Hahahahaha ok there's so much from these two chapters

• Cordelia trying to read from Jude's script is just hysterical
• Violent Avalanche questioning why the crazy couple even needs a script.
• Adelia acting all adorkable to Cordelia's onslaught of saying she loves Jude
• Gaël properly dressing down Jude and Cordelia
  
• Gaël doing a classic "Whatcha talkin' bout Willis" moment when Adelia said nothing is going on between them
  
• Adelia's reaction to Gaël calling her out on that statement

Also at this point Violent Avalanche reminded me of them:

I think you are kinda right. But I have a different perspective. For me, rather than the romance of the main couple, the actual character interactions of all characters have been the major highlight. The wildlands arc is already long, but the number of fascinating new characters is enough to continue to have me hooked.

And sure. Their relationship is changing. I like the character growth, but this could lead to decreased comedy. So there has to be a shift to the second act at some point.

 

I'm really looking forward to Tsundere Santa's arrival at the climatic battle

 

So, Jude knew he was picking a petty fight with an elementary school student smh

 

And Jude continues to egg Cordelia on with all her bad habits while Adelia is watching. Then watching him and Gaël compare notes on which of the two sisters is cuter is priceless.

On a slightly more serious note, good pep talk by Violent Avalanche to Red Wind.

On a side note, I wonder how many barbarian women Count Chase will make swoon when he inevitably shows up with his bags of goodies.

I think he might get in trouble if he brought a barbarian wife home, assuming Cordelia's mother is dead. I honestly don't remember.

I get the feeling that the author was trying to kick off the Sun Song x Red Wind ship.

 

An explosion is the answer for all problems. Just blow away the problem.

 

But they didn't take out a dragon vein nor cause collateral damage. I only give this explosion a 2/10. Bad art!
