Baroness Chaser who invited her is a minion of Marchioness Nornbert (she's Emperor's younger sister and is aiming to put her son on the throne). Yes, it's considered rude. Usually the higher ranking ladies invite guests with ranks lower than them. Seria let it slide in bcs she also curious with Marchioness's motives. If possible, she wants to help Kardi by dealing with Marchioness's people. So, initially they planned to put Seria in her place (bcs of her illegitimate status) but Seria won't back down. When she arrived and get ignored by Baroness (her excuse was other guests prevented her from going to welcome Seria), Seria reprimanded her for being rude to someone from higher status. Even so, Baroness only apologized when Marchioness (who came later than Seria) told her. On the tea party, Baroness asked Seria why she called Jernen with her title instead of brother, implying that their harmonious siblings relationship just for show, but Seria skillfully answered her. Same thing happened when Marchioness told Seria to arrange a meeting with her son, Seria refused because she just debuted so she couldn't meet someone opposite gender alone in private yet. Marchioness then questioned her about Kardi but Seria just told her she was just thanking him for his help. Baroness also tried to shame her by using tea cups from eastern country. Unknown to her, Seria knows how to use the cup and even told her that the cups Baroness owned was fake goods and explained to her how to differentiate it. In the end the other guests also criticized Baroness for her behavior. When they're done and proceed to go home, Marquis Nornbert appeared and offered to send Seria home. She refused and at the same time Kardi appeared to pick her up. Ofc Seria chose Kardi without even thinking twice. This Marchioness is blatantly disliking Seria but she still tries to match Seria with her son. To solidify her son's position for the throne, she needs Duke Littenheim's power and it'll be bad for the greedy Nornberts if Seria marries Kardi instead.

Well, she lived her past ten years life being loved, unlike most MCs who turned back time for revenge. I think that blissful past is what makes the current her. By experiencing ten years worth of happy (or not always happy, perhaps?) life, now she's confident, unlike when she was a Littenheim (in her past life). She loves and respect her ownself just like how Kardi did in their past. Spoiler: Fast Remarriage I purchased volumes 1 - 4 about three weeks ago. They get married very quickly. I doubt if they went on three dates. After the emperor invited her to the palace to find out who she is as a person, she basically maneuver it so she can marry the archduke. However, this time she makes sure to get something out of the emperor. A land rich in mana stone that she intends to use to increase their power and wealth in the north. Since she knows the future, she’s able to take advantage for her soon-to-be husband’s sake. She intends to protect him this time. Of course the greedy, selfish emperor doesn’t know the land has this rare treasure.

Spoiler: Kardi’s response I think at first he thought it was ordered by the emperor. That’s why he came rushing to visit her upon learning from the emperor. However, MC reassures him that it’s her will. So then, he had to officially propose since MC took the matter into her own hands. This also brings her brother running from the south. lol She totally doesn’t think anything of arranging her marriage herself but her brother is sad that she didn’t consult him. This is when she starts to realize that she’s been treating and judging him as someone who wouldn’t care about her like a brother. Her brother also arrive in time to witness the marchioness rudeness in coming to the mansion to complain because MC rejected her son. MC has never even gone on a date with her son so I don’t know what’s her problem. Out of the blue, the guy sends her a proposal as if they have some kind of understanding. It’s the most absurd proposal I have seen.
Is that Essen guy going to be a big nuisance or is it mostly the mother? I really enjoy this type of romance stories and hope he won't be another one of those characters that keep butting in all the time ruining the story for me.
Spoiler: Answer Unfortunately, he will. He’s an idiot and the emperor a bigger idiot. Who favors their nephew over their own son? Well, after our couple is married, the land that MC got from the emperor is used just in the way MC wanted. MC comes up with a plausible lie to get Kardi to subjugate the land and search for mana stone. They hit jackpot. She also asked him to plant in the land to find out if the herb that grows there can be an antidote to poison from the demon beasts. It is. Therefore, they already find two means of earning enormous wealth. Then they get their hands on the neighboring estate to the land and there are hot springs there. The emperor gave it to Kardi previously. The couple visit the land because MC wants to develop it for its hot springs. It will boost the economy in that area and make them money as well. It’s like MC wants to make Kardi the king of the north because she knows his father is his enemy. If he has power, the emperor can’t easily mess with him. The couple fires the estate manager in the hot springs area because not only was he stealing money, he was cheating the wages of the servants and oppressing the people there. The guy goes to the capital to complain but he doesn’t have access to the emperor. Essen dude decides to help him and introduces him to the emperor. Stupid emperor appoint the fired guy and the former estate owner as his envoys to basically put a check on Kardi who has grown wealthy. The two scummy thieves go to the estate as envoys while the couple are building their hot springs tourist attraction. They can’t do anything about the imperial order so the envoys take over. The couple is frustrated but in the end, they’re able to find all the crimes committed by the scummy thieves. They even steal the construction wood to build the hot springs place. All of it is exposed and they’re arrested by Kardi and his men. They document everything and put the two men against each other and manage to get confessions. In the end, the emperor is the one left looking like a fool so he takes it out on Essen who loses his favor. He demoted him to an envoy and sends him to the first banquet the couple holds for the nobles in the north. His visit was unpleasant and ends with him getting a broken foot playing a game for the festivities for the post-banquet. He pulls another stunt by advising the emperor to check MC. This is because he had advised the emperor before to ask Kardi for some of the money from the mana stone since it’s he that gave it to MC as a wedding gift. Kardi ain’t having any of his crap so he writes back that he won’t give him a cent. lol Kardi starts to act independent of the emperor and stop listening to his crap. Therefore, Essen tells him it’s MC’s influence. Therefore stupid emperor writes to MC’s brother to complain and even highlights that MC is the daughter of a maid. Brother writes back that he will now charge the emperor and nobles of the capital the full price of wheat. Before he was subsidizing the price but now he’s no longer going to do it. lol He also tells the emperor that his family is his internal affairs and not a matter for him to get involved in. Emperor then makes Essen and his family foot the bill.
