He actually changed his treatment about her as early as the incident where he almost went berserk, after that incident he started to think of eirin as his actual child. So no regrets there just confused when eirin asked him "why does he hate her" because he always treated her nicely though not sincerely at the start he never did anything that might make her think he hates her. Hes a good dad 100/10 imo im more irked at the granpa, idc if youre a tsundere granpa you dont scream and intimidate a 5 years old kid ffs No regrets i think but they all ended up badly after eirin left their life and just spent her days relaxing lmao. Her granma broke her ankles permanently(partly erno's cause too), dad wwnt bankrupt, one brother was a spendrift and a womanizer and i think the other failed alot of business ventures, not sure about the mom.
