My thought on the PV: Uhh, the sceneries are nice but LBH and SQQ looked so alike at first look. And LBH doesn't have curls. I like SQQ's voice though, it what I expected from a millennial.

 

Well, as SVSSS is the first donghua of this company so it’s understandable there would be flaws... and 3d is usually cheaper that 2d so... anyway the result is here so you have to accept it. The company that made mdzs is much older and more experienced so it’s better.

Yes. I know. But that's just my personal preferences. Aside from that and the two main characters looking alike at first glance, I don't have any complaints. I'm still very happy the we are getting the SV donghua after all.

 

LBH should have feminine features tho excepr for the eyes since LBH is 98% Su Xiyan's carbon copy lol also the system's voice is fucking me up lololol

 

Their outfits are better than I expected. I mean, I always thought they would be wearing those flowy robes but this "battle-ready costume" is pretty nice! The color is so pretty!

In anime one way to solve the character differences is just to give them different hair, their faces are all carbon copy lmao but might be difficult for 3D since animating hair is uh a pain.

 

Maybe to save costs on animating robes????

 

I'm pretty happy with what we got! The System's voice is really nice and Shizun has quality tsukkomis, and there's every possibility everything will be more polished when the actual donghua comes out. I'll be looking forward to it!

LBH will prob look more different in season2 after hes no longer wearing the sect uniform.

 

The background looks pretty and the characters too in my opinion. It looks kinda weird for me at times, but that's probably because I've never seen a 3d anime, but I will this time cause is SV. I've been waiting too long so I'm obviously gonna watch it. Also has there been any official announcement if this is gonna contain BL?! Probably not, but I'm still hopeful...

 

I'm honestly pleasantly surprised because not going to lie, when they said 3D I was expecting something at Mekakucity Actors level

Updated the directory, and regarding the PV, i'm going to add my two cents in.

No, it's not what anyone expected. However, I believe it's not something to fight over. If you don't like the Donghua's designs for it, then just continue to get soaked up in the fan designs. It's perfectly ok either way. After all, MXTX never specifies how her characters look. So go nuts.

Secondly, for those hating on it, I get why you can, but don't you think it's a bit childish? Yes, surprise that it's 3D. Yes, surprised that it looks like a low-budget MMORPG game, however, I believe it has the chance to grow (like Qin's Moon animation). Personally, I have conflicted feelings on it, but I'm not going to trash it because it doesn't meet my expectations. I'm stuck between being happy and content that we're finally having a donghua for it, and worried and upset that it does have this MMORPG quality.

There might be some things that will need polishing up, and some areas of concern that I can foresee (like with how 'stiff' the animation looked? Especially when Binghe was training in front of Qingqiu? I dunno, it might have been me who thinks that), however, if they actually work on it, it might not actually be bad. They could have gone with a live-action series though--that would have probably been more fruitful.

Anyways, TLDR, for those who are complaining about it not being similar to fan designs: there's room for improvement. And if you really despise the PV for looking so different, then just don't care about those designs. The donghua should not stomp on anyone's creativity, so if you feel that way then I dunno.... Just chill with it, I guess is what I'm trying to say. It's not the end of the world.
