I think it'd be nice after 2 chapters of Riftan... creatively... ravishing his wife, if Maxi attacks him for the third chapter and blows his mind. Not sure how she'll have the energy, but hey, it's a fantasy novel. And then they need to clear up whatever the big danger is and work *together* for once to solve it. I think that it may be the kings of the seven nations all have the same idea that most of us here have about Maxi being the new empress. Yea I feel like that is the direction things are taking, when I am not wearing my "ideal world" glasses. I also have a creeping feeling Breston will somehow manage to disable Roftan from reaching her, like a renewal of court proceedings or some nasty political move that will block Riftan from being able to just go after her-- as a parallel to the post-war half of book 1. But then again my predictions are almost never what the author ends up making happen, which is part of why I love this book, it keeps me on my toes! But for real, chapter 120, I wish wish wish that now that Riftan is showing Maxi his true self without holding back, that he starts to tell her how long he has loved her, how long he has known her, and that she is floored by the realization of his true devotion. *melts*
